Went here for dinner with fiancé and family for restaurant week. Food was fantastic, but service was slow. We were here for over 3 hours total, and though we did not specifically have anywhere to be, the food seemed to take longer to be served than it should have. Server was very nice and friendly and the manager even was observed checking on other patrons as well as us.
As usual, the ribs were great, the pork chop outstanding. The service was impeccable. We went there for Restaurant week. It was our first time at the new location. Few interesting things.Seems like the portions are smaller than they were at the old location. Cesar salad was sort of small, cole slaw seemed like a smaller portion and the ribs, which used to overflow the plate, seemed kind of lost on the plate. Maybe they use a different portion for restaurant week. Anyways, the food was outstanding. As usual!!!
Consistently great! Carson’s River North is a great choice regardless if I am in a date, meeting someone for a drink or entertaining for business.
My family had a wonderful dining experience at Carson's. The food was AWESOME, and so was our
Great ribs. The cornbread is the bomb! He Restaurant week deal is awesome. Highly recommended.
Restaurant Week - the meal was excellent.
We hadn’t been to Carson’s Ribs in over 20 years and we were pleasantly surprised. The service, the food and ambiance was better than I remember.
Outstanding waitress.....came at 5pm didn’t get here name
First time patron but have heard of Carson's for a good part of my life. Was not surprised to find that the ribs were awesome and the filet was perfect. Since Carson's is minutes from my child's apartment we will be back often.
Great food and great service. A great place to go.
What better way could I celebrate my last day of 12 weeks of chemo treatments than to go to Carson’s for dinner at the end of my infusion and the celebratory ringing of the bell? Thursday was the end of a very emotional journey and I eagerly chose to spend it with my friends at Carson’s, both those who came with me and the Carson’s family. Where were the saddle and bridle I could have placed on the shrimp in my shrimp cocktail? Shrimp? That is an oxymoron if ever i have seen one. Ribs came next; I prefer them lightly sauced. I only wish I had had room for carrot cake!
Great atmosphere and the staff was so attentive. Love the new digs.
Great as always !
Our waiter was really nice. We had a great dining experience. Will surely come back next time.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Definitely recommend!
Surprised with a great view.
Delicious. Great service. Friendly staff. Perfect for birthdays.
Food was well prepared, staff were friendly, and the table was not crowded. Carson’s has maintained a high standard of excellence for many years and continues to do so
Where else but Carson’s should you head on New Year’s Eve.....or really any eve? I headed over with 9 girlfriends and we delighted in the scrumptious “garbage” salad with everything but the kitchen sink , ribs and the world’s best pork chop ( Mediterranean style for some of us and barbequed for others) ....woo hoo! Cocktails and mocktails were well crafted by Jason, Rene recommended a fab red wine bottle. Life is good
This was a great place to dine alone. I sat at the bar and the bartender took care of all my needs. The food was delicious! I ordered the sampler which included 1/2 rack ribs, pork chop, and 1/4 chicken. All the food was cooked perfectly and was juicy. It was excellent food and service and I will return.
New Years Eve dinner with close friends!!
Another great Carson’s meal! Always outstanding!
We brought some out of town guests to dine on New Year’s Eve. Our server Brittany was phenomenal. Despite a busy night, food was promptly served, and was delicious.
Jason and Kevin at the bar were great for service and dinner
The restaurant space is warm. The staff is attentive and professional, and always friendly. Our reservation time is usually honored (we've only had to wait once or twice). The ribs are superb - tender and flavorful. The crab cake, French onion soup, and Tuscan bread are some of the best we've had. The portion sizes are generous. The desserts are delicious, but more choices would be welcome. Great bar. The quality and consistency is why Carson's has been one of our Chicago favorites for decades (since the Wells St. location).
Great experience there for vacation and was highly recommended!! Did not disappoint
Wonderful experience - we were seated a quiet table with a great river view.
Great ribs...best in Chicago
One of the food items in our order had to be changed at the request of the restaurant. The rest of our food must have sat under a warmer until the revised food was done. The majority of our food was dried out and overcooked. It was not good.
Our Yearly Xmas Dinner With Reservations Made. The. Restaurant was out of BBQ Chicken and Bread. We also wanted Chicken Cesar Salad but there was no chicken. I would think we so many of the things we wanted not being available that exceptions or substitute items would be offered. 😕🥗😕
Christmas night so we expected a slight delay in service time. Two filet mignons ordered medium rare - one came out perfect the other was overcooked. Restaurant took care of the overcooked one. Overall 4 stars, not quite 5 star service/food.
Cornbread was amazing!
Food took forever. We were there for 2 1/2 hrs. We ordered our meat medium rare a s it was burnt on top and medium to medium well inside. No apologies for extremely slow service or food prep.
Carson's Ribs provides excellent ribs, side dishes and desserts at reasonable prices, in an attractive, comfortably chic ambience. Service was above the usual standard. We enjoyed our evening.
From the time we arrived the whole experience was great. We sat down and had some dread come while we waited and it was so good I could have just had that as the meal !! We ordered ribs, steak, and it all Wes just wonderful. They brought a nice little desert for my daughters birthday as well. Very nice staff and very good and polite staff from the bus boy to the waitress. I’ll will be coming back !!
Wonderful holiday tradition open Christmas Eve and Day - classic robs and great salads and potato options and the goldbrick sundae is delicious-Christmas music was great except way too much Mannheim Steamroller
We got a pretty big table by the water. Staff was so nice!
Carson’s never fails to exceed expectations! My friend Kathy and I sat in Peggy’s service area and we were spoiled with great food and service. Carson’s is as comfortable as a neighborhood restaurant as it is as a client destination.
I'm originally from Chicago and while visiting I took my wife to Carson's to experience Chicago style ribs but were deeply disappointed! The ribs were terribly overcooked, dry, chewy and just plain bad! I found this odd because you would think a place that specializes in ribs would get it half right. Needless to say I sent the ribs back. Our waitress (Olga) was kind enough to bring out two additional slabs to choose as a replacement. Unfortunately the replacements were just as bad. Being raised in Chicago I know what good ribs are (no I don't like them to fall off the bone either). On another note I will say the sauce for the ribs was excellent and the pork chop was very good! The wedge salad was large excellent as well! Great martinis too! We loved the atmosphere as it had a mix of an old Chicago feel along with newer contemporary flare. Love the restaurant but the never again for ribs. Olga was our server and she was kind, attentive and excellent!
Wonderful dinner with my wife and adult children. Something for everyone all cooked perfectly especially the famous ribs.
We enjoyed our food. I had salmon with soy glaze which was very good. Also did the side garbage salad. My husband had barbecue ribs and chicken combo. All was well prepared
