Carluccio's - South Kensington
We’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday to Sunday, offering a broad range of classic Italian food. On top of that, our menu also caters for vegetarians/vegans and those who are following a gluten free diet. Therefore you should book a table at London, South Kensington today!
Really good service and food, recommended!
I told them I had a nut allergy and they brought me dishes with nuts in Them…
First class service nothing was a problem food was great
Well done to all the staff
Fantastic place with very polite staff.
Food is amazing!
It is good to see that this branch of Carluccio has survived and is open again. However the menu has changed and the many of the wines that I have enjoyed there over the years are no longer listed. The service was also slow as they were very busy on a Friday night. However, enjoyable meal nonetheless and waiters very friendly once we were able to get their attention!
Food was ok but not amazing, service was super slow though, but the atmosphere is lovely and Christmassy
Great service, managed our middle sized table well with children’s orders taken and brought out first to keep them happy. Would book again!
Food good and reasonable value but had to ask for the set menu (was initially only given more expensive seasonal and main menu). Restaurant was very busy and not certain that ventilation was sufficient in Covid times. Staff efficient and friendly.
Bread sticks with carrots in the kids menu is a really sad and non child friendly "dish". Portions are also very small
Looking forward to a Carluccios after a long break and disappointed with the overall experience. Staff were not wearing masks, the queue was chaotic (even though we’d booked) and we found ourselves on a tiny table cheek to jowl with other diners. Food came scarily quickly and I ordered the pasta giardinara; the deep fried courgette balls were a third of the size of pre-pandemic portions. Overall: could do better.
Had a table booked for 2.30pm and we arrived an hour early, we thought we would ask to see if a table with free and we was lucky and was told to pop back in 15mins we was a party of 6 with 4 children.
We went and had a walk for 15mins went back and then was told that another member of staff gave our table away
And was told to return in 45minutes. Really disappointed as was promised a table in 15 mins!! Bad communication between staff! So we again had to go off for 45mins.
We did get an apology but would of been nice if we was offered a gesture maybe a free drink or something for the children.
Great to get a table on the day as we had forgotten to book till about an hour before hand. Helpful staff and great early dinner.
Great lunch on the set menu super value at £12 for 2 courses. Tasty food, friendly and effective staff. Nice atmosphere too. I was was impressed as my expectations were pretty low.
Breakfast as part of my wife’s belated birthday trip .
Host - told to just sit anywhere .
Service very poor , waiter indifferent and clearly not interested, food items delayed , items missing and avocado was off and inedible!
Worse Carluccios we have been to over the years
Enjoyable dinner to celebrate an 89th birthday.
The servers were very friendly and helpful, but appeared inexperienced. They were not familiar with Carluccio's policy of 'half portions' (I presume they still sell them).
They were able to deliver a half size portion, but charged a full price. They also started serving our main course without having cleared our starters (although as soon as they noticed or it was pointed out to them, it happened very quickly).
The food was okay, but not as nice as previously at Carluccio's. I think that they are suffering from the travails of the catering sector, and probably have an inexperienced staff, which will undoubtably improve over time.
I expect to return - which is a good endorsement !....
Family meet up
Great waiter thank you!
Great customer service. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant on a Saturday night after visit to the Albert Hall. Beef ragu was on the dry side. Goats cheese Salad was delicious.
Good family restaurant if you manage to book a round table...or be ready to be squashed
It was pleasant enough. Our waitress was terrific - I didn’t get her name but she is from Beverley in East Yorkshire, very close to where I come from.
I found my main course to be rather dry and the roast tomatoes were stone cold.
The desserts were excellent.
We arrived early but did not have any issue in being seated. Service was efficient but not obtrusive.
The food was generally very good, plentiful and hot.
Quick friendly service but not rushed considering the queue for tables.
Lovely tasty food, really good value.
Attentive and friendly service. Breakfast was very good quality accompanied by superb coffee.
Will definitely be going back. Food, service and atmosphere - all 5* from me!
Excellent service from very attentive waiter. Great food
Perfect for adults and children after visit to Science museum !
Good menu for children and drinks came quickly as did the food. Pleasant, friendly staff.
First visit back to Carluccio's South Ken since the pandemic and it's great to have it back. My wife and I eat here whenever we are going to Royal Albert Hall or Cadogan Hall. It has a buzzy atmosphere and the food is uncomplicated and well presented. Very difficult to find criticism.
Noise is an issue if you want a quiet chat with friend(s) but the staff are so attentive without being intrusive and the food is excellent. They accommodate very specific dietary needs if required. I would recommend 100% .
Great location, straight across from the tube station. Food was ok.
Such a vibrant casual scene, close to Kensington Station. It was busier than I thought it would be, so pleased I had booked ahead. Friendly service, good all round food, lovely afternoon
My only comment was that it was very noisy and is in need of some sort of sound absorption. The Chicken Milanese was very dry and needed some sauce of some kind. Goats cheese starters were lovely.
Had a meal here before a show at the Royal Albert Hall. Was very busy but had prebooked. Quickly taken to our table. Food was great and service quick and efficient. Only downside is the tables are crammed together and the restaurant was noisy which spoil the experience if you are looking for a quiet intimate occasion. The layout and ambience are more akin to a fast food joint than a fine dining experience!
But food and service was great, but would not choose again for such an occasion.
Staff were really friendly, 5 stars. Ragu not very rich and maybe a few to many olives. They came really quickly to take my five year olds order which I really like. They understand tired children coming from science museum!!
So sad so many have closed!
Our table was booked for 12:00. We had to order twice to get the children’s food. Our starter took 30 mins to arrive and our main course 1 hour 15 mins to arrive. Lack of cutlery despite asking. Overall very poor service and average quality food. Will not use again.
The food was luke warm & not much choice on the menu
Pre Albert Hall event dining. Chose one of the expensive items on the menu, lamb.
The actual meat was so pale it had all its flavour cooked out of it and was tasteless. Unfortunately the flavour did go into the broth and vegetables it was served in as this was so salty.
I did mention it to the our waitress who reported to the duty manager. A £7 overpriced beer was taken of our bill still meaning I had paid £12 for a tasteless salty main course. Definitely won’t be rushing back.
Great for families like ours. Accommodating staff too. Well done Carluccio’s.
Had a fab lunch with the girls on their set menu options. We arrived early and got seated straight away. My friend has a nut allergy and we’re very attentive to her! Our waitress was fab and I even said to the mngr how great she was
Perfect place to meet with friends and family around some decent food. Excellent service, improved decor but still a little noisy.
We had a lovely meal, the food was delicious and very tasty. The staff were attentive and made you feel welcome.
