Very well organised with our big table booking - the food came out promptly and all together with no mix ups and they happily managed a few last minute additions on the day. Nice sunny atrium area, very friendly staff and affordable menu - was perfect for a large farewell lunch with work colleagues. The only thing I would change is the 'no split bills' rule as it's a bit stressful and impractical to coordinate correct change in cash for 20 people. I've found other venues seem to manage individual card payments without issue and it seems a reasonable customer service to offer given our increasingly cashless society. Despite this, I would definitely go there again for work team lunches.

The service was prompt & friendly, the food was delivered quickly, which happened to be important to us on this occasion, and the “Captain’s Burger” was better than a burger has any right to be! (Though it was pretty juicy, so be prepared :-)

I've been there several times, most of the time going to loch and key and bypassing captain Melville. This place is great though and not too busy on Sunday. Food was out on time and the guys are really friendly at the bar. It's pretty much the in between of pub and a restaurant. A lovely bar with great food

Great variety of simple yet really well executed meals. Had a couple of burger snobs with us who couldn't complain. I had the chicken burger which was great. Atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming and the staff were great.

We had our engagement at Captain Melville and go back on our date nights. We enjoyed it here more than where we had our wedding venue!

Went for trivia night which was lots of fun. But will be back for the food, ace staff and just generally great pub.

the dining part of the night was very good and the food was alright. but as for the happy hour we ordered our drinks at 7:50pm and because it took the bartender until after 8 to put it through the cash register we had to pay full price. now the happy hour is great don't get me wrong $5 basics you cant really go wrong but when you are ordering like 10 drinks because you know the happy hour is ending and get smacked with full price that's a bit harsh especially since we ordered before 8pm. other than that was a great night.

Great place for groups. Our party of 11 was well looked after by the friendly staff. The food came out quickly, especially for the 11th member of the group who arrived later. The overall vibe of the group was very positive.

I loved the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.

The food was amazing, the service was awesome, the beer was cold and the atmosphere/venue was great. The Captain's Burger was yum and it was a special too, so it was good value for money! There was a mix-up with one of the meals which meant that it was served much later than the rest of the group. As this was a work lunch, we had to rush to get through our meals slightly to get back to the office for other meetings. The waiter was extremely apologetic though and acknowledged that there had been a mix-up.
