Ordered potato skins for a starter which came out raw with bacon that was microwaved. Three of the guests ordered burgers which were burnt and dry and cold, the cheese wasn't even melted. Half of the onions and peppers on my cheesesteak were cold, don't even know how this is possible. Everyone's chips were cold and soggy. Service was poor. Expensive evening for horrible food, never again.

We had such a great day for our sons birthday but despite booking it online and informing staff it was his 5th birthday they still charged us for his meal!! other than that it was excellent but the music was too loud!

Not a great experience
One persons food was cold and had to go back. Table was not set we had to ask for cutlery. Had to remind the server of drinks order. A bit to improve on but still enjoyable

The food was good, the staff were friendly.
A tad bit more attention could be paid to drinks that are sitting on the bar waiting to be delivered..
One thing that did get my whick up was a waitress nearly fell over a small child and the dipping sauce for the wings went over the child and over the floor at the 3 steps at the bar... (this is not the problem but to let you know the story) The child was OK, and the waitress was very apologetic to the people..
As the waitress was tending to see if the child was OK and went back to the pass to try to reorganise her order.. A guy (wore glasses and a blue t-shirt) whom(I'm thinking), is either a supervisor or a manager, walked up towards the area where the incident happened, took a look at the spillage, stepped over it went to the middle of the room looked around at the Tvs for a bit then turned and walked back, stepping over the mess and went back to the stations inside the main door and stood with his arms folded.. Yet the waitress served the order and still had to go back and clean up the mess..
I've been involved in food service for over 25 years and to see these actions really annoys me... Either you work with as a part of a team and roll your sleeves up or just bog off..

We were stuc in the corner by the window so no atmosphere there.
Chilli nachos to start were fab... New Yorker burger was dreadful... bacon hardly cooked, brioche bun was greasy, burger was burnt and tough. The chips weren't cooked long enough so soggy and greasy. Such a shame. Didn't complain as we were in a rush but wouldn't recommend it at all.
Staff were very great though! Very friendly!

Kids menu was good value but as usual hot dog had no onions or vegetables, I would have assumed that the hot dog would at least come with onions. also plastic straws which I was surprised at

I have dined here on a number of occasions over the past 30 years however it was my 14 year old son’s first visit .Pleased to say that things haven’t changed. Staff were polite and attentive. The service was very efficient and we had a lovely meal as always. The diners were a good mix of age groups and music was great without being intrusive.

I’ve been I few times and have always returned, however on Sunday I was very disappointed we were waiting a while to be served and then our drinks took another while ! My mother ordered a vodka and her measure was way below average we had to send it back - my daughter ordered a burger as she always does however it was undercooked raw in the middle I had to send it back which meant she was waiting while we were eating when she got it back her chips were cold !!!however we were all cold as was our food as the air con was on full blast I asked for it to be turned down and it was for 10 mins or so I understand the staff will be warm running about however my 80 year old mother was freezing!!!! So overall it was a disaster and we just paid and left ...

Captain Americas is very outdated, the overall interior seems poorly maintained and needs freshening up.
Food is poor, I have a vegetarian fajita which had stir fried veg which consisted solely of onions and peppers.
Music is very, very loud and stuck in the 80's. Is is almost impossible to have a conversation. Tables were not promptly cleared so the restaurant felt messy.
We couldn't wait to leave so even though we had a voucher for €100 we left without dessert and only actually spent €76 of our voucher ie lost the other €24 but we just wanted to get out.
I couldn't recommend Captain Americas.

We were 6 people at the table, 4 adults and 2 children and we had a main course for each person. On the menu was stated that for 8 or more people a service price will be charged, however they charged us with 10% even if we warn't 8 and I don't think this is normal and legal in Ireland :) Let me tip you if I consider you deserve the tip.

The food was not great on the day we visited. Chicken tenders appeared to have been re heated rather than cooked fresh, same for the kids chicken nugget meal. On the plus side the desserts for the kids were good.

Drink and Food up to the high usual standard.
Service excellent.

My only compliaent was that they don't cater for people on a weight watcher/slimming world diet for starters or desserts.

We asked when ordering about the student deal where you buy one meal and get one free and were told by the waitress that we could do that. It was only after we had eaten and went to pay the bill she explained we needed a ‘captain americas student card’ or something like that. We tried to give our actual student cards and were told they aren’t accepted. That should have been said to us when we asked about the deal and ordered. I felt a bit like she left it out knowing we would have to pay more than we were aware of in the end. We are students and do worry about money so having to pay way more money than we were expecting is stressful. I think you should make students aware when they ask for the deal they need a special card and not just spring it on them when there’s nothing they can do but pay for what they’ve eaten. It’s very unfair.

My chips were burnt, our table was wet and the seats dirty, the floor had napkins and chips on it, twice my daughter asked what flavour the jelly was, twice she was told strawberry, it was actually orange. I enquired if the meringue sundae had sauce I was told it had "meringe sauce" I asked what that was, waitress got quite rude and said its ice cream and meringe and to choose a different one if I didn't like it, I said I didnt want sauce on it. It came out with chocolate sauce I explained I didn't like sauce thats why I had asked, she shrugged her shoulders and said well thats what it is and began to walk away, I said no I dont want it, she took it and said she will see if they might change it. When it came back she just put it on table and walked away. I also chose the 2 course meal, but still got charged for the dessert on top of it,. The whole place looked dirty and I could see food stains/grease marks on the framed pictures and also a lot of dust. Wont be returning.

I couldnt believe how down hill the service had gone. As it is one of my favourite places to eat.
We were left waiting while we watched staff and a lot of them wander. There was ample staff in on the day so service should not have been poor. When we eventually got order. The food came and had been taken wrongv. Wasnt a huge problem we asked for portion of chips that was missing but they never came .
The food was average which was so unusual for captain americas .
Upon leaving we paid our bill and the girl was that preoccupied in a conversation there was no interaction . Until i told her to keep the change .
I hate to say it but i was less than impressed and to be honest dissapointed in this visit.

Food was very poor quality. Have been here before and it was lovely but this was awful. I order chicken wings and the blue cheese sauce was spilled all over the plate. Then for main I ordered wedges which were very undercooked with the potato being very hard inside. My partner got chicken nachos which she said were flavourless with the chicken being just direct from a package. Overall very poor dining experience. Not a reflection on the waiting staff at all apart from the spilling of the sauce and the fact we were served our drinks after a long wait. I do not think I will be back.
