Wonderful looking menu but a poor execution on the food. A medium rare steak was cooked well beyond what could reasonably be even medium. For a restaurant that will cost about $50 a head you need to do better.

If you don't mind paying more for the sizzle than the steak, this is the place to go. It is by far the best restaurant in the Yakima Canyon. Of course, it's the ONLY restaurant in the Yakima Canyon. They know it, too. Prices are sky high for what and who they are, but they are trying to make an exclusive resort out of it. The Porterhouse steak and halibut special were well prepared and delicious, if not a bit ordinary, along with the presentation. Service was cheerful and supportive, but not polished. Outdoor seating was a sunny, scenic delight until the sun went down and the wind picked up, when we had to move inside to the rather limited bar to get warm. Oddly, specialty and well drinks were moderately priced, but my martini up in a skimpy, stemless "martini glass", with call brand, was $16.50, which was totally out of line for a fishing resort. It's a beautiful venue for an anniversary dinner, when you don't care what you are paying anyway. Go once to enjoy it, then head to Ellensburg or Yakima for more bang for your buck.

We have family in Yakima and Ellensburg, so we thought Canyon River Grill would be a great father's day location, and it was. The service was excellent and the food delicious. The deck is great, right along the river. There was close and ample parking for people who have difficult time getting around. We will for sure be back again.

Food was cooked perfectly the way we wanted it exceeding our expectations. We sat out side and it was lovely to listen to the river as we ate. And my wife said they had the best bloody marrys that she has ever had.

We came to celebrate my son's college graduation. Sitting outside was absolutely beautiful. The view was lovely. The server was prompt and friendly, made great suggestions and the food arrived timely. The lemon mascarpone cake at the end was to die for. We are planning to go back when in the area for sure.

The location is nice but there is a parking lot right next to the outdoor dinning and people running there noisy trucks takes away from the experience. Food was overpriced for the quality and the service was fair at best.

Outstanding rating based on a beautiful day and seating on the deck. Food and service is excellent, thus worth a visit back to critique the inside section. Regardless, worth the visit and drive to the Canyon location, especially when the floaters and anglers are on the river.

Love many things about this place....amazing views, right on the river, just a good feel to it. The food was ok, but nothing great and a bit over priced for the quality. My halibut was overcooked ($34) and pretty bland salad with lettuce, croutons, onions and tomatoes. They have quite a few steaks, also pricey, but some moderate priced burgers, etc. Service was efficient, not necessarily friendly. They have a great deck, so will go back in warmer weather and try it. I will go back, but more for the atmosphere than the food. Also a plus are GF options, labeled.

We were at Canyon River Grill for Easter. It was a beautiful day, so we sat on the patio. The views were spectacular! The buffet food was varied and delicious. All employees were courteous and polite, and our waitress was awesome. I highly recommend the drive to this secluded gem!
