In 2016, Cantinho do Aziz opened a second restaurant in Leeds, England, offering a Portuguese menu with some Mozambican influences. The Leeds restaurant is conveniently located in the City Centre and has caught on with the surrounding local residential and business communities.
The sensational buzz from social media and global news outlets triggered stellar reviews published by American Food Blogger, Mark Wiens’, Migrationaology: Travel Guide for Food Lovers, and most recently, Tyler Kord’s critique in Bon Appetit Magazine, “How Portugal Became the Greatest Place to Eat Right Now.” (View full article under our “Press” page.)
With great demand from U.S. diners visiting our Lisbon & Leeds restaurants and invitations from food establishments around New York City, the Cantinho do Aziz Pop-Up Experience was born during the Autumn of 2018. We will be cooking at the James Beard House in NYC on May 2019.

Lovely little authentic porteguese restaurant tucked away just off the beaten track. Food all cooked fresh in an open kitchen and the flavours are truly delicious. Portions are generous and there's a nice choice of porteguese wines. Lovely place to go as a couple or a group of friends. A little piece of sunshine on a grey damp winter night 😊.

I gave this restaurant 1 star just because ...... Unfortunately i cant give a real dining experience due to them been closed when my friend and i arrived . I received an email confirming my booking which is very inappropriate considering they knew the place was closed for 3 weeks of the month we were due to visit ! The email was sent 2 days before they closed confirming the booking for 2 weeks later . I emailed the restaurant the next day after we had our date ruined and put a complaint in which i got a reply from a couple of days later ! To be honest the reply gave me the impression they wasnt really bothered about what occurred . I think the cheek of it all was brought to a head when i received the email asking me to leave a review , obviously no one communicates and my email complaining was probably just deleted !!

My serving plate had a short thick black hair on it, the place smelled of dirty fat when we walked in and this seemed to rise upstairs to the restaurant area, leaving my clothes and my girlfriends hair smelling of fat, we had to go back to the hotel to get changed and re shower. When my food arrived in the serving dish this had a long hair on the plate, I managed to eat my food but my girlfriend couldn't stomach it for the reasons above :-(

Definitely not a book to be judged by the cover- not great to look at from the outside and a bit too cramped inside- but the food was incredible, the service great and the cost very reasonable. Susie waited on us and she was lovely, really helpful and friendly. Superb meal, full of great flavours. Starter, main course and a bottle of wine for two for under £40- so great value for money.I am going back again next week with a friend and am a convert to Portuguese- Mozambican fusion cookery!

Cantinho do Aziz is a Mozambique/ Portuguese gem tucked in an office area atthe side of Leeds station. The decor is simple and the entrance unprepossessing but the food is absolutely delicious : we tried a range of fried starters, with seafood and chicken mains, and an excellent Dao wine. Flavours had tropical hints and the fish was perfectly cooked. Friendly , prompt service. Wonderful value. Highly recommended.

Lovely dining experience. Excellent food and the homemade sangria is to die for. I went for lamb chops in a mild piri-piri sauce accompanied by rice - amazing. Very friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere.
