Great venue highlighting the best of Sydney Harbour. Although when booking on line for 12 noon that we needed to be out by 2pm, which suited us as we had a train to catch at 2.15pm.... once the drinks were ordered, we sat there for nearly 30 minutes with no service to take our order. I eventually stopped a lovely waiter, explained that we needed to be out by 2pm, would he mind taking our order and hurrying our meal through. He did just that and we were looked after personally.
Delicious food. The only comment I have that the naan was a bit too greasy.
Everything else was perfect, the barramundi, the gnocci etc.
Gorgeous outlook - beautiful food cooked to perfection. Friendly attentive staff, very busy but this didn’t impact the level of service. Can’t wait to go back!
Overall a great evening. The Taff where excellent with a no false attitude. The food was excellent and I good range of choices.
Amazing food and service. Well worth the booking wait. Next I’ll book 6 months for outdoor seating. Inside had a nice ambient feel with scattered views of the bridge.
This was probably my least favourite experience at Cafe Sydney. The food was good but portions were tiny. The service was not it’s usual high standard and we had to repeatedly ask for more drinks. We had a side table rather than one with a full view which again was disappointing.
Never had a bad Cafe Sydney experience. An amazing spot for a celebration or special occasion. The food is fantastic and it is an easy spot for a long long lunch. The staff are wonderful and the views are unbeatable.
Cafe sydney is just an exceptional experience. The attention to detail not only in the quality of the food, but its presentation and that of the staff is impeccable.
Our waiter was amazing
My favourite restaurant in Sydney - sophisticated, amazing food/service/ambience. It never fails to impress
Great location, views, food and service. Sydney iconic restaurant that stand the test of time.
My wife and I were enjoying another visit after many years, as we had fond memories of the previous occasion eating on the terrace. This time inside, and Brendan made us feel welcome once we were seated with a separate menu provided for the vegetarian in our party. Prompt, but not rushed service meant we were soon enjoying a sparking wine/ cocktails. The food absolutely lived up to expectations: beautifully presented and delicious - and portion sizes quite reasonable. Overall experience was A1.
An amazing venue to take in the views of the harbor and the bridge. A must for taking out of town visitors.
Great food and top level service also
We had a table at the back of the restaurant, which was quite good as you could have a conversation without raising your voice. That was until the meal was served and the waiters couldn't get around the table, so they were reaching across members of our party to serve dishes to other members. My Tandoori roasted King Salmon was lovely, as was the lamb, however the pork belly was bland and the duck dry. The service left a lot to be desired. Wait times were long for food and drink.
It's a venue to die for with gorgeous view of Sydney Harbour. All courses were delicious and service personal and efficient.
We were outside which was divine if not a little dark when trying to read the menu.
Amazing location with stunning g views. The outdoor dining area was in full sun in May and it was VERY HOT . We were provided with sunscreen and caps but the experience of cafe Sydney was left lacking due to the lack of shade . .
We ended up needing to move tables as our desserts were melting in the sun .
Our waitress Lindy was lovely and accommodating in moving tables .
It’s a shame that the drop down box did not have a 11 out of 10 in a few categories! The view, the outdoor gallery, location ease of access & the food is unbeatable! Its difficult to surpass Café Sydney on these parameters. A bit heavy on the pocket but by the end of it you feel it was worth the spend! A classy place for special occasions. May 2019 was my first visit here… Loved it… Will be back soon… & will recommend it to friends for sure!
overrated restaurant. Yesterday we booked for a special birthday and pre ordered also a birthday cake. After some good experiences in the past, we´ve been really disappointed. The staff was uncoordinated (up to three people came and asked exactly same questions) up to unmotivated (birthday cake came without a lighten candle - sorry, wind is to strong - and without plates or spoon/fork - unable to eat, of course). I felt sorry for my feance´s birthday
The food quality was variable: 2 disliked their gnocchi dishes as too oily & flavours that didn't blend well. 2 others had barrumundi which was good. We all had a main meal & shared a large salad, plus a drink but everyone's main meal portions were so small we were all still hungry. We looked at the dessert option but given the size of the mains, didn't feel it was likely they would satisfy us for a reasonable price. We went elsewhere instead. Total price for 5 was $330 for 1 course + drinks.
This by far was one of the best restaurants I have ever dined at that's saying something because I dine out one a week. Some times more then one at incredible restaurants including the altitude at the Shangri-La.
From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out I felt like I was a king. The waiters where super professional but at the same time very friendly making us feel apart of a family
The food was exceptional taest texture and proportion supper well priced. Complements to the chefI
Cafe Sydney is located at Customs House at Circular Quay and has spectacular views from the terrace. The restaurant itself provides an ambient environment in a very attractive and appealing setting. Prices are high however the food, drinks and service mostly make up for that. If wanting to sit on the terrace be careful of timing as the sun can be strong during the lunchtime hours. In any case, would highly recommend!
This is the 2nd time we have celebrated mother’s day at Cafe Sydney and it never disappoints. Beautiful day with my family.
Wonderful place with such a nice view of Sydney.
I recommende Cafe Sydney to all my friends coming to Sydney : the place to go !!
Lovely restaurant with beautiful views of the harbour. Service is quality and staff are friendly. Loved the rugs for outdoor dining in winter. Food delicious and cocktails lovely.
Service was terrible, slow drink top ups on wine, when topping up drinks mixing red and white wines. Ordering food took a long time, menus where still on table and we were asked if we had ordered. Food delivery sloppy.
In the women’s toilet there was cubicles with no toilet paper.
On paying we were asked if everything was okay, we stated the service was not great. A long and drawn out process followed when we just wanted to enjoy the rest of our catch up and leave.
Won’t be returning.
The food was amazing and the service was superb. I took my mother for her birthday and when we ordered dessert they wrote happy birthday on the plate without being asked. Very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be coming back here!
Was a fabulous lunch - great view, delicious food and very warm and attentive service.
On our 2nd visit to Cafe Sydney we could not fault anything.....again! On arrival, busy staff greeted us promptly. We were early but they managed that perfectly, taking us to sit comfortably in the bar area. In no time at all we were offered the drinks menu. As It was a special occasion and had pre-ordered champagne, staff didn’t miss a beat. We experienced a very relaxed, enjoyable afternoon of carefully prepared fresh food and outstanding wines. Staff made us feel very welcome. Will return
A wonderful experience.
Staff were fantastic.
We all really really enjoyed the day.
We celebrated a graduation at cafe sydney on a Thursday night and had a great night. The atmosphere was vibrant, mains were excellent and the staff made us feel very spoilt. The wait staff attended efficiently to any requests including GF options and timed their trips to our table perfectly.
Very happy to recommend Cafe Sydney for a special occasion.
Overall, my experience at Cafe Sydney was incredible. The service was great and the staff was attentive. Much better than the first time I went when the waitress did not seem to understand and brought our three courses at once. The food is divine.
Lovely view, impeccable service, beautiful food.
Food was great unfortunately the service wasn’t. Big name, great view but no follow through won’t be going back.
Awesome service and great atmosphere, but the food was disappointing.
The only vegetarian main was not available due to the ricotta not being delivered that day (we were originally told the dish had sold out).
The food was underwhelming, in particular the apple tart which was surprisingly served at room temperature.
Service could have been a lot better. The hostess at the front was bordeline rude. The wait staff were not very attentive even though there were a lot of them running around. They seemed to be all over the place but never around when we needed something.
Amazing views of the bridge.. ideal for a special occasion. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Food was unreal so many great flavours.
A fabulous night at Cafe Sydney to celebrate a very special family event. We were looked after very well and made to feel very special. Food and wine was excellent and the view breath taking
It was perfect food seating service made my birthday one to remember
