Dinner: Monday - Friday: open, Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
We travelled from Ireland. One of our group towards the end of the meal fell asleep due to jet lag. He was less that a minute asleep when a very rude waiter approached the table and stated that as one of our group had fallen asleep we were all required to immediately leave the restaurant! His tone and manner was wholly unacceptable. We spoke with another member of staff when we were leaving who said she would review the matter with the member of staff involved but did not offer any apology.
Once again a fabulous meal at Cafe Sydney, without a doubt my favourite special place restaurant to dine at.
Perfect seating on the terrace under the warm winter sun with the fantastic harbor view. The seafood platter was really good value and the service was impeccable. My friends were all enjoying this fine dining experience!
we have been here a few times before and have always enjoyed it but found the current menu not as favourable as our times before. The meals were expensive and not so impressive - felt that they lacked in flavour.
Girls trip to Sydney for my bday, cafe Sydney did not disappoint!
As always Café Sydney did not disappoint. Services was so friendly and relaxed and attentive but not overdone. It is one of Sydneys top gem places to eat. Would definitely recommend to ALL visitors who love food and great views and vibe.
Simply great! Always consistent service, great food, etc.
Cannot fault a thing!
Fantastic friendly service & top food
Cafe Sydney never fails to impress with food, service and, of course, views.
Not the Cafe Sydney we once knew we have dined many times over the last 10 years unfortunately no longer the elegant slick Cafe Sydney. Food quality was appalling one reasonable meal out of six. Staff handled our complaints very well but we will not be going back.
Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic staff and service, food was exceptional but the wine list was a little limited, although there are some reasonably priced good choices
Too dark, very rushed and I felt the staff just wanted to turn the tables over. We are locals and only a 20 min ferry trip away, we wouldn’t be rushing back there. It was not value for money nor did we feel special on a very special occasion for my husbands 60 th birthday. with our 20 year old son
Was a lovely evening with good views of vivid, great wine and food
We enjoyed an evening meal before our Vivid walk and it was absolutely magnificent. The service from our waiter was excellent and the meal was perfect.
Would recommend this to anyone wanting a special dining experience.
A great way to celebrate our sons graduation celebration. Great food and exceptional service with an amazing view and location. A great view of the harbour bridge lit up during vivid. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I will be trying it during the day also. Staff went the extra mile to prepare a nice congratulations on my sons desert without us asking very nice gesture.
This was the second time going to Cafe Sydney - the first time was incredible. This time was good but the main meal was a little more disappointing this time around. The location, cocktails, ambience and service was wonderful. The food was good, but my pork belly was overcooked - this is something unexpected due to the premiums paid for the meal. Despite this, I will be back in the valiant hope that it returns to the brilliance of my first visit.
This was my first visit to Cafe Sydney and it didn't disappoint - the service was quick, efficient and friendly. The food was delicious and served quickly which was great as we had a later booking.
my friend and I shared a salad and two mains which was just the right amount of food for us, and they accomodated us by providing us with two extra plates. Would like to go back and try some of the other items on the menu as they all sounded delicious.
The views of Sydney harbour was spectacular and very memorable. The waiter had an accent and was difficult to understand and pushy but staff very friendly and welcoming. Food very good. But food better in Adelaide.
The salmon starter & the gnocchi were delicious. We had booked an inside table but the staff were lovely & moves us to an outdoor table with a lovely view & a heater & a blanket - very cosy 😀
Helpful and efficient service from our friendly waitperson. Magnificent view - A wow with our overseas guests.
My experience was disappointing, it was meant to be a special occasion. I booked five weeks in advance for a nice table instead my husband and I were seated against a post and crammed to the point where a private conversation was impossible. The first two courses were cooked well, small portions but the desert for $21 was overpriced It Was a chocolate mouse with a Very hard base that couldn’t be cut to be eaten. I would be reluctant to recommend this restaurant.
Great food and amazing view, though is on the more expensive side, service is ok, can be slow and chaotic at busy time, lost my birthday cake order which was disappointing. Have the great space and view of a 5 star restaurant but unfortunately the service was not matching 5 star.
The best dinner experience ever! Food incredible, staff amazing. Was my mothers 95th birthday and 4 staff wished her happy birthday and made her feel special
Will definitely be back
What a beautiful restaurant, of course the view is fantastic but there is so much more to this restaurant. From when we entered the foyer we felt welcome, the staff are exceptional which immediately makes you feel relaxed. The extensive drinks list created a nice problem of choice and the menu covered all tastes and was beautifully prepared and served and was delicious.
Thanks Café Sydney for a truly exceptional birthday lunch. Food and service was outstanding. Thanks for all the extra touches to make my sisters birthday lunch so special. can't wait to visit again soon.
We had a wonderful celebration lunch. Everyone in the party commented on how nice their meal was. Wonderful on a special event to have everyone so effusive and happy with everything.
Service was 'on point' and professional.
We have dined here many times and have always been satisfied with flavour, price, and service. Most of the menu is gluten free, which even if you are not allergic, gives peace of mind that all ingredients are fresh and not processed. Always a favourite celebration venue.
The 5 of us enjoyed each dish immensely - can’t wait to our next lot of visitors there! Thank you !
Went during Vivid Festival - ideal location to watch the lights on the Bridge, Museum of Contemporary Art and Opera House whilst enjoying an amazing meal. Mouth was full of wonderful flavours to tantalise the taste buds.
Best meal we had in Sydney.
Went with family yesterday.
Ordered chocolate cake with ice-cream for dessert. Found a hair in my dessert (I took a bite of cake and a hair was in the food and then in my month). Told the waiter about it and he was nice and trying to help. He acknowledged the hair problem and took the plate to the back trying to figure out something. But he never came back. it was 9:30pm. and no one came over to service or talk to us after that. No apology no service what so ever. Disappointed
The waiting staff were exceptional, very friendly and full of advice for food options and cocktails. Also attentive. Felt like it was an experience and not just dinner
Amazing experience. Great service. Delicious food. Awesome view. A massive treat. Thank you
We came here for a special birthday lunch and the 6 of us were very impressed. The food was absolutely fantastic along with the wait staff who were very attentive and helpful. View was magnificient also.
Quick, friendly service. Unique, however incredible tasting food.
Cafe Sydney is a family favourite for special occasions. The outlook is magnificent especially during Vivid and the experience is further enhanced through the high quality menu and the friendly staff. We should also mention how good the wine list is and that it caters for all tastes and budgets. We will continue to go back to Cafe Sydney which in our opinion is the best restaurant in Sydney for overall experience and value.
Although the place was empty we were only able to secure a 4:15 booking. Average plus food, good ambiance.
Our waiter was Josh and he provided excellent service. Knowledgeable, attentive without being overbearing and a fun attitude. He made us feel very relaxed and added to our experience
Very good service. Menu should be updated, ok with specials. Wine list good, but could do with some changes. Great spot for special occasions!
We had a lovely meal. We wanted only a starter and dessert, then subsequently were asked to spend more money as we taking a prime table and they didn’t consider a starter and dessert a dining meal - even though we were having cocktails and wine. This was upsetting and dampened our special occasion. After a couple of talks with management they decided to let us stay. We spent $250 and to think that’s not classed as spending enough is really disappointing
