The service was friendly however the food was so evidently precooked and expensive for the quality that had.

We had a pizza and salad before going to the theater. The pizza had a thin crust (which we liked), but it was soggy, not crisp. The caprese salad was excellent.

In short, the food was OK, but not a value for 50 GBP's.

We ordered 4 starters and some water plus lagers. The water never arrived and the starters were 50% incorrect. We all had risotto which was very bland. Overall very disappointing.

I enjoyed a pre theatre meal with my sister. Value for money, tasty food and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely return to this place.

A nice little Italian tucked away from the hurly burly of Covent Garden. It was very unhurried and we really enjoyed being able to catch up without being pressurised.

The food was good too, the usual pizza and pasta but seemed freshly cooked.

The only odd thing was that when we came to pay, all the staff had disappeared! We could easily have left without paying, but someone from the kitchen helped us out.

The restaurant itself is in need of freshening up but the food was excellent.

Everything about this was horrible. Didn't even get a chance to taste the food, since the service was horrific. One of the guys is lovely and cheerful but a couple other staff come across rude, our wine glasses were dirty (bits of old food on them) - so we asked for a replacement and we got a wine glass with bits of food inside the wine instead! DO NOT RECOMMEND. So many nicer places around this one.

Overall a very disappointing experience: we left after the main course and a half cup of watery coffee served from a dirty machine. The place needs a good clean - the waiter picked up a fork from the floor and put it back on a table, and there were food stains splattered up the wall. The service needs to be greatly improved, and everything on the menu needs to be in stock - it’s unusual for an Italian restaurant not to stock ice cream.

The food was not particularly hot but it was a busy lunch service which might explain it. The taste was fine, and we would have discussed this with Staff but we were in a rush to get to the theatre. Location and service were great.

I remember Cafe Mode from years ago when it was less than half the size it is now. I hadn't been for a while but the menu was still as varied and the prices good for the area. Nice to see an independent restaurant still surviving after all this time, especially in Covent Garden.

Family birthday meal. Just off from Covent Garden. Relatively cheap meal for party of 10. Friendly service. Not posh or extravagant but fine for larger party looking for value meal

The restaurant is a bit run down and food very average.

The gourmet burger wasn't much up on a burger van.

It was quiet when we went so not much ambience.

I like to try independents but feel we would have had a better experience, value and service at a chain like Pizza Express or Zizzi on this occasion.

Always come to this little place, i never leave without a smile. Food tastes authentic and the atmosphere is perfect for the heart of covent garden. It was a date night and i had a great evening... In most part because of resturant...

We visited this recently due to it's location but unfortunately was a disaster.

I am lactose intolerant and informed when ordering the (bruschetta) meal to please make sure that nothing extra was added.

Unfortunately, the first meal came with a ton of pesto all over it (plate was returned) and the second time the bread was covered in butter.

My 'eat anything' friends were not very happy either with their standard meals.

They also sat us next to the window and people were sat directly outside, smoking heavily with the Windows wide open.

For these reasons, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Such a good find. I live locally and have started coming here on a regular basis. Good food and atmosphere, friendly staff and overall easy dining. The pizzas taste so good and its really affordable for the center of london. Has a cosy feel, with a mixture of customers and surrounding coversations, its the perfect little london dining experience. Would recommend If your in the area.

Such a good evening!
Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I had a pizza with dough balls and bruschetta to start.
Brilliant value in the heart of covent garden. Good find for group and solo finding - would recommend to anyone in the area.
Evening comedy is quirky and fun.
I will be returning very soon!

This place has great potential but there were too many things that let it down on the night we went. It's quite tight for space and there's no obvious entrance so we ended up barging into people eating. It was very noisy and the group next to us were so loud we couldn't have a conversation ourselves. Food was mediocre. Risotto was hard and my finger bowl was a teacup of scalding hot water! Staff were friendly though!

It was not very nice at all, place was empty we were the only people there and I understand why. The food was horrible. Place seemed shoddy, pizza seemed like a safe option but they were burnt. Looked like oven pizzas from a cheap store. Chicken burger was very dry and also overcooked was a struggle biting into it. The new potatoes were ok but slightly undercooked. If we didn't have a taste card the bill would've been £80 which is ridiculous for what was served. I mentioned the overcooked food as we left and they did offer a complimentary pizza on next visit but this is an offer we will be turning down..

Terrible place I went here and the service was very bad and the comedy was awful also found a hair in my food very small one wouldn't recommend this place I rate it a 1 star and that's too much I am surprised that anyone would dine here under any circumstances.

Furthermore on closer inspection the glass I was given had a mark on it with lip stick stains and I was handed this glass to drink from absolutely awful. Food also arrived cold and in a bad way.

This was booked as my partner date for us and was ruined at this restaurant so upset, after coming here and also the next day didn't feel to great with the chicken I ate here under cooked.

Overall my experience here was very very bad from the staff to the food and the comedy was crap to be honest didn't make me laugh once.

Don't come to the restaurant under any circumstances avoid at all costs if you can or think of booking here!!!!

We have been going to Cafe Mode for years but this time (as also happened with other customers), they were told on payment the Open Table booking hadn't registered even though they had our bookings when we arrived. We were then over charged which they then said they would correct though they only did this partially. In the end we just paid the bill even though it was not in accordance with the offer in order to leave.

A pleasant cafe style, small restaurant. Has a comedy show downstairs and there was a constant noise background from that, but didnt spoil the evening. The waiting staff were attentive, allowing us plenty of time to chat over our meal. Our starters were good (mine the smoked salmon) and my main of risotto was excellent and desserts were fun. I had a lovely evening with my friends catching up on news and gossip, this was an excellent place as we didn't feel under any pressure to rush. Liqueurs and coffees also went down well. Excellent service and overall rated as a fun, relaxing night out.
