Cafe Mezzanotte

First visit, and won’t be our last! Wonderful meal! Service was great and the food was excellent! Cafe Mezzanotte: Wife had Bronzino over sautéed spinach with roasted potatoes and green beans, filleted by Chef Sergio! I had Pappardelle Boscailoa, wide noodles, Italian sausage, wild mushrooms in a light cream sauce. Incredible!

Absolutely loved the bruschetta al salmon. It was different, unique and tasty. The Rigatoni Bolognese was divine and the staff are super friendly. I can’t wait to visit again.

Cafe Mezzanote was in one word outstanding. Food was simply excellent, especially the entrees we had - grilled swordfish and ragu pasta in a blush sauce. Tortellini our server Dawn took very good care of us and made it a great night (our anniversary!!). The tirimisu dessert was a delicious finish. So if you want great Italian dishes you should go to this place - we highly recommend it.

The best Italian food in Wilmington. Service is exceptional and prices just right! I had the veal chop which was so tender you could cut it with a fork and so flavorful.

Very clean and very quiet with a super friendly staff. My husband and I can be a little hesitant about eating out these days, but they made us feel right at home. The meals were a home run and the cocktails were simply amazing, some of the best I’ve probably ever had. I would recommend this place to any one for any occasion. Outstanding.

The restaurant was very clean and neat. The food was surprisingly good. A pared down menu but something for everyone . Service was very pleasant , a friendly waitress with opinions,when asked. The pasta “bags”
Were very light with delicious mushrooms inside and olive oil as “sauce”. A winner. We will go back again

Food is good here; however the red spaghetti sauce has a weird taste to it. My husband thought so too although he ate it. I did not like it and could not eat it. Luckily I had ordered the filet over spinach and mushrooms (delicious) and got the spaghetti, that I could not eat, on the side. I asked the server to inquire with the chef about the unusual ingredient he included in the sauce. Unfortunately, the chef would not divulge the ingredient. Why? I did not like it, therefore it is not like I was trying to steal the recipe so that I could go home and make it. I wanted to know what the ingredient was so that I NEVER use it! That was petty of the chef.

What a wonderful evening my family was treated to tonight by the staff of Cafe Mezzanotte. We were greeted cordial upon entering. The clean, friendly atmosphere was apparent from the beginning. The starters were quite tasty and obviously fresh. All six dinners we ordered came out together and were all hot and delicious. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. We will definitely return again and again. Thank you for a wonderful evening.!!!

I had an amazing meal during my work trip. The service was outstanding. Pasta Carbonara was simply delicious, I have had a lot of pasta in my lifetime and cook at home a lot. Therefore I just have a great appreciation for all the amazing flavors and quality in one dish. Hat goes off to Chef! Would definitely recommend if you want good Italian food!

The pepperadell with mushrooms and sausage was delicious. The rigatoni looked good. I would like to try more pasta dishes. The dry-aged steak was not up to snuff and I would not recommend it. Thanks.

It was my wife’s 40th birthday and she chose to go to her favorite restaurant. I was excited to see an open table special that said 2 courses and a drink for $30. When we arrived, the server explained that it was an extended weekend Valentine’s Day menu. The special would not apply and worse yet her favorite dish was not available. She enjoyed her meal and the bread was phenomenal but my rib eye was about 1/3 fat and both of our drinks weren’t anything to write home about. She usually raves about the blue cheese stuffed olives but she walked away very disappointed. I also missed out on an opportunity to earn 1,000 bonus points through open table due to choosing the 2 courses and 1 drink special but instead I just earned a disappointing night.

Our first time at Cafe Mezzanotte for a Valentine's Day dinner. Outstanding meal including great pre-dinner drinks. We had the Chilean Sea Bass which was large and cooked perfectly and an equally outstanding Fettuccine Bolognese -- both of which where some of the best we have had anywhere. The service was also excellent as was the atmosphere. We will make this one of our favorite Wilmington, DE restaurants to go.

We went on an early Friday evening and there were very few diners. Service was excellent, environment was nice. I wish the $16 scallop appetizer which consisted of 4 medium size scallops either had a lower price or had been wrapped in bacon. They tasted good but not great. The rigatoni and shrimp entree (5 shrimp) tasted excellent, the rigatoni al dente. The beef filet medallions were ordered medium well (I know, how could we?) and they were prepared exactly that way—-they were dry as a result. The desserts were modest in size but so were their prices. Overall would go back, we had a good experience.

Week days service is great, but on
Weekends, it needs help.

Enjoyed the Saturady night special which was excellent. The wine was reasonably priced. Also, no rush or pressure to leave!

Cafe Mezzanote has been a favorite of ours for years! It’s well worth the trip into Wilmington for a great meal, and this was no exception, especially since it’s perfectly located to enjoy a great meal before a show at the Playhouse in the DuPont Building!

My wife started with a bowl of pasta e fagioli which was delicious. Her Lobster Ravioli was just what you would expect - great lobster in a tasty ravioli! My tortellini crab was extra delicious with nice size little balls of crab in the tortellini! I can’t forget to add that the bread was fresh, hot and light! Perfect for sopping up some of the extra cream sauce on my plate!

For dessert I had the chocolate soufflé which I loved. Very close to a molten lava cake and perfect for chocolate lovers like me!
