About this restaurant

Innovative
Good for groups
Great for creative cocktails

Mexicali is a city that straddles the United States border, with its sister city to the north, Calexico, immediately adjacent. Mexicali, Calexico - see what they did there? Awful puns aside, should you have ever found yourself in the cross-border region, you’ll be able to confirm the quality of the cuisine found there, with a suitably international blend of American and Mexican favourites on offer. Cafe Mexicali brings this unique combination to the less divided streets of London through their Mexican restaurant on Stroud Green Road. Take a trip across the borderline, south of the border, down Mexico way by booking a table at Cafe Mexicali.

The food was excellent. The only downside was the delay in waiting for the food at least 45 minutes. This restaurant is inundated with takeaway orders as copious amounts of Just Eat bikers were coming in and out. Would we go again?, probably not but would order a takeaway.

Cafe Mexicali was great, good food, good cocktails, nice atmosphere. However they don’t take bookings through open table. Talking to the staff, they’ve asked open table to remove them from their website, but had no success. So ring them to book don’t use open table!
