It was a terrible experience for my dinner on 29th at the outside seating around the bar table. Staff were neglecting incoming customers and leave us sitting for more than 10 mins. They were just trying to avoid serving us but pass to some junior staff to help us out.
We even went out to the cashier and pay the bill as we know they would definitely not helping us. They even kept us waiting at the bar table for over 5 mins without helping us the bill. Thats terrible for a 5-star hotel service, very disappointing.
We were met by very friendly staff who took us to a table that we funnily enough had at our Christmas lunch. Very punctually we were given the wine list and served drinks. I chose the buffet and had the roast pork which was superb with heaps of crackling. Lots of variations of vegetable dishes to accompany it.
The desert was made up of ice cream and an assortment of small delicious chocolate puddings. Great atmosphere and great service. Really enjoyed our dinner.
Being a allergic to seafood ,I did not find a very large variety of food for my entree or main you seem to only concentrate on lots of different varieties for desert.
Where are the vegetable options for vegetarians, and only offering one roast meat with limited vegetables.
Staff never came back to ask if I would like another wine or beer.
We had to stop a waitress and ask for more water and go take away our plates.
There should be a different area to sit couples away from children. Children running around and playing in the floor.
I was disappointed.
This was meant to be a romantic dinner for two To celebrate our wedding anniversary and birthdays.
This was exceptional value for money. Three of us went for a catch up lunch and we were all impressed.
Lovely choice of seafood, cold meats, cheeses, salads and lovely hot selection of food. Love the way they did tempura fish and chips.
Desserts just fabulous. No where else in Perth comes close as far as Brûlée and variety of other delicacies.
Service a bit slow initially as far as bringing water etc. But a lovely young girl who helped us with our dessert selection.
We have been there numerous times and keep coming back. We will be back again. Our English friend asked to go there again and was delighted it was still as great as in 2017.
Great selection of dessert however hot savoury options were lacking in terms of variety and quantity
We were quite disappointed with our experience. The food was ok with some really nice dishes but most others average. Must point out that the ribs, roast beef and the blue manna crab were awesome. But the fact that it took 25 minutes to get a drink that I had to ask for was really unforgivable at a restaurant when selling a drink to a customer should be quite high up there as one of the first things to do when you seat a customer. They were I thought understaffed with all the girls seemed quite rushed at times. Our water glasses were never empty pity couldn’t say the same about our wine. We actually saw others going out to the bar to get their own but when you pay $75 or so per head you really should expect and get better service. A couple of extra staff for that 3 hour period at a cost of no more than $150 (which was 2 adult priced meals)from 7–10 would have made all the difference.. so for the fact we spent over $400 it was very disappointing. We Will be looking for other options in the future.
Food quality is so bad compared with what it used to be
The Lunch was very limited, would like to see a few more choices.
We Have visited Cafe at the Hyatt and we are always very pleased with food, service and everything In general.
Very disappointed with the buffet. Have been several times before, paid less but this menu and quality was very disappointing based on previous visits.
Although the hot food was disappointing - poor selection and the barramundi was badly cooked and there were not enough staff, I would still recommend the overall experience. I waited so long for a coffee at the end that I had to leave without it ever reaching the table
Birthday dinner gathering.
Found the table next to the entrance too cold. Not comfortable as felt cold and food got cold very quickly.
I must of visited on a peak time. Payed for the buffet Bbut only stayed for 20 mins. Food was average, service was pretty much rushed all during my stay and honestly food selection was less then I thought..
We had a lovely meal. The buffet is great value and was very tasty!
Very nice evening, food was lovely and constantly topped up so not cold. Terrific range of food and nicely presented. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Was not too noisy, but happily busy. Very enjoyable.
I visited Café at the Hyatt three times during my recent stay in Perth and was impressed during each occasion. The staff were extremely attentive, catering to all needs and requirements, whilst the atmosphere and ambience were conducive to completing various work commitments in a relaxed manner.
Beef was too rare and ran out by 1300
Lamb served with too much fat
Beautiful barramundi covered in chillie marinade, ruined taste
Vegs were under cooked
Rice was not cooked properly
Not much cheese selection
Tea and coffee extra
Dessert selection was good
Roast potatoes were tasty
Overall a disappointment.
Would not recommend.
Really enjoyed the experience of the High tea, food was ok, deserts were great, savoury items could have been better, General noise level was high, difficult when you have older family with hearing probs, but I would recommend too friends.
Fantastic value for money, will definitely be going again
probably the worst meal we have had there, been many times before but most likely we won't return again. very poor!!!
Absolutely fabulous! ALL the friendly staff, the fantastically fresh seafood, the deliciously cooked meals and salads, variety and abundance available of everything.
As for the dessert area, too much to choose from!
OUSTANDING staff/food and presentation/lovely atmosphere.
Definitely go again.
Never attended Cafe at the Hyatt before. Attended on a groupon voucher. Enjoyed the experience.
fried fish was unpleasant, lamb and steak tough and salads mediocre.
I have eaten there at least monthly for years and this was the worst meal yet.
The cold seafood and deserts were excellent as usual.
Busy night needed more staff on board for clearing table and food stations where continually rushing to be refilled
When we arrived we had to wait about 4 mins lady too busy needed more help at front desk
Maybe have water available on table at all times
Just a very busy night
But really nice food and staff did best they could needed more staff about four more people
But thanks great otherwise
Our table was at the entrance so asked to be moved and this was complied with. The white wine should have been much colder. We where there for about 45 minutes before they took our food order. Not the place to go to celebrate a special occasion. We won’t be going back anytime soon.
fried fish wasn't as good as usual and meat was tough.
cold seafood and desert excellent as usual.
We were disappointed to find that the “cafe” is now restricted to only weekends. We tried to book for a special occasion on the Wednesday with some friends on holiday from England and after booking “online “ had a phone call to say they were closed Wednesday evenings.
On booking for the Friday evening we were not disappointed with both the service and the food and would recommend it to anyone wanting an exceptional evening meal.
Cafe Hyatt presents a very satisfactory buffet with each section,ie seafood, hot dishes and desserts replenished regularly. The venue is agreeable and not noisy(always a plus)
All I can say is DO NOT go there for meals!!!! Food is not tasty at all!! Don’t go, they need to do better. Service was terrible & slow even when they was no one in the dining area.
I booked for my wedding anniversary, The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic, will definitely go back again.Highly recommend. Thanks.
Service was great, always with a smile. Food was good but could be better, with a wider selection of hot foods for the price.
Drink (Lemon, Lime & Bitters) was terrible, tasted very watered down like it was made by a child... if not for the fact that it was a birthday celebration and I didn't want to create a scene I would have asked for it to be made again properly!
The service and food was really great . We were a group of nine and everyone thought it was great. We had one person in a wheelchair and others that had walking difficulties and they all had room to move around. The ambiance was great and the sweets were delicious. It was good to not have too big a selection but what we had was more than adequate . I didn’t feel that everything was picked over. Very nice ,I will definitely recommend this restaurant to other people. Thank you also for my Birthday cake. It was lovely.
Was disappointed with the lack of variety of foods. The way foods were grouped was confusing and the jus or gravy with the roast meats was not up to standard. The beef was tough, the turkey was leg not breast. The cranberry sauce was odd, not sweet as expected. The roast vegetables were ok but not situated near the roast meat. The bread was not crusty, it was doughy. The desserts were ok though why chocolate sauce was next to Christmas pudding I don't know and why it wasn't labelled I don't know, I thought it was sticky date so was disappointed all round. The pastry on all the tarts was toooo short, it was doughy, not firm.
I only ate the roast meat and vegetables with some bread, all of which had problems. The desserts were disappointing and not labelled.
In years past I was a frequent visitor to the Hyatt with my son Kristian. He was killed in January 2013. His younger brother and I went to celebrate Kristian's birthday. It was disappointing. On a positive note, the menu looked great.
Normally quite nice but this time the pork crackle was soft, there were a lot less vegetables and there wasn't the Christmas ham that was mentioned on the website. As the price was increased for the Christmas festivities I expected there to be more not less.
On my last visit, the service left a lot to be desired, which is becoming quite a regular occurrence. While they do have an "a la carte" menu, it is mainly buffet. The restaurant was at half capacity, yet it took staff a long time to remove dirty plates from the table (20 minutes at one point). Mistakes with basic drinks orders (eg. Kept sending cappuccino coffee rather than flat white. Couldn't understand that flat white means no foam.) Had to queue for over 15 minutes just to pay the bill. Buffet food is not labeled so you have to keep asking staff what things were. Staff couldn't tell us the exact ingredients of individual dishes (they had to go and ask), which makes it difficult if you have allergies. Wouldn't keep going if the food wasn't so good. Not a huge variety if you are vegetarian.
Lovely place for a group of ladies for sparkling high tea - we had a great afternoon. On a personal note vegetarians and vegans are not well catered for. We had one of each in our group of 13 and the choices were very limited - perhaps we should have stated that when we booked.
The staff were lovely!
Roast meat, lamb chops, steak and fish better than Crown buffets. Cold seafood as good with the added bonus of scallops on the shell.
Selection of salads poor in comparison to Crown buffets. Flow of people getting access to food poor as well.
Food and atmosphere was outstanding. Service from staff was efficient and friendly . I would have liked to continue to use my entertainment card to enable myself and family to dine at the Hyatt on a very regular basis cost wise, as we love the food and atmosphere greatly and wanted to make it our 'special place' . I was disappointed that the Manager was so determined to cross off the card, hence preventing the frequency of my family's dining experience at the Hyatt.
Excellent food, love the scallop n crab, hot food is also great though not many choice, Hyatt provide high quality food. Dessert bar is also very good, love the mango sorbet, strawberry mousse n cream brulee.
