Cafe at the Hyatt - Hyatt Regency Perth Ratings and Reviews
The seafood selection was reasonable, although not as good as in past years when oysters were plentiful. The service was appalling. At the end of the meal we wanted to order coffees but no one came to take our orders. After repeatedly raising our hands to catch one of the servers' attention, no one bothered to look our way, and if they did, they deliberately ignored it. I waved a napkin to catch a server's attention, the manager saw it and tried to get someone to serve us to no avail. After another 10 minutes of being ignored I saw a waiter on his way somewhere and called out across the room to him. He reluctantly came and took our orders. All this took 45 mins. Totally disgusted and will not be coming back to this restaurant again for average food and even worse service.
Went to the Christmas Buffet. Paid extra. Then told at cooking station, no Turkey nor ham. They’re on alternate nights. This was a Thursday night just prior to Christmas. So we had paid for a Christmas Buffet, but were only served roast beef/pork normal menu.
Our Granddaughters 21st birthday dinner was very enjoyable with the special touch of a small cake on a lovely decorated plate with a candle. We were a bit disappointed that tea and coffee was not included in the price, this would have been a lovely finish to a delicious dinner.
This was a very ordinary experience. We took the festive lunch option which offered, among other things, seafood, turkey and cranberry sauce and honey glazed champagne ham. The food was of poor quality and offered little choice. There was NO ham whatsoever !! Ambience awful and under/staffed. Per head price of $60 was a total rip off !! Won’t be back.
It was my boyfriends mum birthday,we pick Hyatt cafe for him femily. I booked the table a month early but the table was separated. We was waiting for 40 mins to drink and food wasn’t fresh specially the salmon..
My boyfriend and me went there few times and there always good that’s the reason we chose for his mother birthday but we won’t go again! By the way the price changed more than normal because Christmas coming ‘next’ month but the information didn’t change online or when we booked no one tell anything.
Have always loved The Cafe at the Hyatt...but slowly but surely it’s going down. Sorry! Now no prawns or crab or fresh muscles..now it always seems there are never enough staff to order drinks . I used to love the sweets section but now that’s very basic....meringues were the size of the palm of your hand, then just over the size of 50 cents ..last week 10 cent size. So sad, very sad. But no oysters or crab...Saturday night?... sad. The head waiter is always ready to help with quality service. Now he looks out of place....lots of empty table Saturday night and I have never seen that before. Hyatt don’t lit it go...bring it back! It used to be so special and a great place to go, now I wouldn’t recommend it at all
Venue good but not so all of the food.
Cold selection - smoked salmon good. Cheeses - small but reasonable selection.
Hot station - no list of what was on offer so had to ask about most things. One guests lamb very fatty. Vegetables OK.
Deserts - reasonable choice.
It was an adequate buffet rather than an abundant one.
Food tastes all great but need more variety of foods
If you add much more menus, pretty sure hyatt buffet will be the best out of all buffets in perth.
And please add soft drinks in your menu such as coke, fanta, sprite ( in big bottles like atrium has)
And the juice you have which is just a small glass is too expensive.
Others are great.
It was Christmas Eve, we were greeted with a smile and directed to our table.
The wine was bought swiftly and our water glasses filled
I New the drill as I have been going to the Hyatt since 1988. I went to the seafood
And filled my plate.
I never leave without trying the delicious pate with crunchy bread yum.
The hot food was amazing leg ham, turkey, lamb, fish and much more. Hot vegetables
Even pizza etc etc etc
The desserts had every thing. I always have sticky date pudding with a dash of cream and lots of fresh fruits like cherries, watermelon, rock melon etc
I made my booking via Open Table and received 3 email/text message confirmations, however when we arrived, the restaurant didn't have our booking and therefore seated us at an out-of-the-way table that looked like it was for waiting.
Our dinner was a special Christmas event and I booked the Hyatt specifically for its Christmas ambience but the lobby had no decorations (it usually has lovely ones)!
The food was ok but nothing special.
There was not enough staff so we waited too long between drinks.
They closed at 10.00pm on a Friday night despite advertising being open to 10.30pm.
Haven't dined here for many years and we were quite impressed this time. The choice of food for the dinner buffet wasn't huge but what food they did have was excellent quality. The dessert range was bigger though and again of excellent quality .One thing that was missing was that there was no soup on offer.
