Out with friends and to see Retreats exhibit
Enjoyed the experience of Cafe 43 prior to our tour of the Library. It makes for a full day of discovery at the Library.
Touring the Library and Museum first, primed us for the uniqueness of Café 43. The food was served hot, fresh ingredients, interesting presentation, and great taste. A wonderful treat after a wonderful tour.
Cafe 43 is a jewel in a huge city! The servers are knowledgeable and willing to made changes to meet your unique taste. The salmon was cooked perfectly, served on a bed of quinoa with roasted tomatoes and asparagus! Delicious!
Love the ambiance. It’s cozy and intimate since the entire restaurant is one room with beautiful artwork and big windows. The pricing is very reasonable and the food does not disappoint. This is a Dallas gem.
We all loved our food and service was great. Did not disappoint for Father’s Day.
We were there for Father’s Day brunch, and we loved it. Wonderful spot with delicious food and attentive service. We love it.
The food was delicious. My mom and I ordered the smoked chicken salad. It seemed a little dry for our tastes, but our server was happy to supply each of us with some extra dressing. That made it perfect!
Everyone else had wonderful things to say about their food. Our server was very nice and attentive. He even engaged with us in a fun way, at our prompting, and offered some interesting tidbits that he knew about the museum.
The menu was wonderful, I wanted everything! Had starters, brunch menu, and dessert. The food and presentation was outstanding! The fried avocado starter was beautiful and delicious!
The cup of lentil tortilla soup and young lettuce were delicious. In addition, it was a pleasure having Bernard as a waiter again. Very special thank yous to the dining room staff: Bertha, Ceslo, and Sergio. Veronica and Marsha were lovely hostesses as always.
Delicious. We were dining with a one-year old and all of the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Food was very good and prepared well. Desserts should all include Mrs Bush’s cowboy cookies. Took some extras home and they included the recipe.
Food was excellent!! Wait staff attentive but was not rushed. It was our anniversary ( they didn’t know) and we had a lovely lunch
The bowl of lentil tortilla soup was memorable. In addition, the complimentary bread basket was enjoyable.
We had a large party (13) and they sat us at 2 tables. I understand splitting up the service staff but the difference in time from getting food at one table to the other was A LOT. One table was almost finished eating and the other had not received their food. And the food was hit or miss: I enjoyed my crab salad but my husband said the shrimp and spaghetti squash was very bland. Some of the sandwiches were good others not. The space is beautiful and it was a great place to gather before heading into the museum, but there is room for improvement in the taste of the food and the pace of service.
The hosts welcomed me to wait in the lobby 25 minutes before my reservation. The dining room staff was incredible as they contantly made sure diners had enough to drink or needed anything. In addition, Bernard was an excellent waiter. He was very personable.
Food was outstanding and our server was attentive without hovering
Always good with fresh ingredients and excellent service. Excellent waiter who made the lunch even better! My Crab and Avocado Salad was great; my husband enjoyed the Chicken Enchiladas. For desert my husband and I split the Key Lime Cheesecake with Macadamia Nut Crust—worth every calorie!!
I always love having lunch here! Not only is the atmosphere pleasant and relaxing, but the menu has so many good choices, I hate to narrow it down to one! This time, I had the chicken salad. The rustic bread was fabulous, but so was the bread brought to the table!
If you order the cowboy cookies, have a whole bag of FRESH brought to the table!
Cafe 43 is our Mother’s Day tradition. The food is delicious and it’s such a pretty venue. Attentive service. Diverse menu. This was our 5th year and we look forward to the 6th.
We went to Cafe 43 after going thru the Presidential Center. Both are a must do! Every employee at both places were helpful and so nice and our lunch was very tasty!
Really tasty corned beef sandwich. Fruit plate was fresh and amazingly just the perfect stage of ripeness. My only complaint is the room was pretty noisy, but it was full of diners at the peak of lunchtime. We would definitely go back.
First visit and would return. 3 very different lunch entrees that were all pleasing and we would return.
My son and I ate here while visiting SMU. The ambiance, food, and service were all excellent. I had the salmon with quinoas, tomato, and asparagus. It was exceptional. My son had a burger that was good. He said the fries were very good. The decor is very nice, a bit contemporary. I’m a designer and couldn’t find anything to critique. The service was excellent. It was not crowded when we were there, at 11am, and the wait staff was extremely attentive.
Excellent food and superb service...will advise my friends
Wonderful lunch on my husband’s birthday! Excellent friendly wait staff. We even got a glimpse of Laura Bush who was eating there with a group of women!
Lunch with old friends that had not been together in 48 years. Bernard was our waiter, and he was EXCELLENT. He made recommendations on each category of the menu; he was attentive to our drink needs; he checked on our enjoyment several times. The food was delicious, and desserts divine! I will recommend Cafe 43 as a go-to place! Thank you! Rosari Birmingham
Cafe 43 surpassed my expectations! I love restaurants that aren’t too noisy and this restaurant gave fulfilled this need! Our waiter provided exceptional service! I can’t wait to come back.
Excellent service, excellent food, wonderful experience!!!
Easter brunch and everything was amazing. The service was perfect and the food was over the top. Going back Tuesday just because... Love this place!
Oh the only downer is the parking on Sunday (everyday) was $6.50 for the length of time we were there. I wish they didn't charge to park ,Oh well.
Take a tour at the museum and have a great lunch next door you will be glad you did.
Fantastic service and the food was wonderful! Nice and quiet dining as well!
Have been there multiple times. Always a fun experience and great food
Big thanks to Restaurant Chef Joseph Bateman the food was most delicious . Service was amazing as well. Best spot for family brunch in DFW. Thank you for an amazing experience. Loved it ❤️
Great location, food, and service! If you ever looking for someplace unique for brunch or lunch definitely try Cafe 43.
Forgot birthday dessert, but person at desk gave us some cookies. Nice save.
This is a wonderful venue...good food, lovely service, and you can carry on a conversation due to the lack of noise. I always recommend Cafe 43 to folks visiting the Bush Library.
The table reserved at Open Table was waiting for us upon arrival. Our server, Bernard, is a true professional. He reviewed the menu options thoroughly, and helped us to make excellent choices. We will definitely return to Cafe 43.
Menu choices were really nice and food was exceptionally good. Service was outstanding but the din/noise was very loud. Would definitely dine there again if visiting again.
We love the atmosphere and small size of Cafe 43. Fernando is an excellent waiter.
Service is very helpful and friendly. Fried avocado to start was delicious. People at our table enjoyed soup, salads and the tomato, avocado and mozzarella sandwiches. Desserts particularly yummy. Highly recommend.
