The food was great, sandwhich and a burger and very reasonble too. The service was excellent and a great view of the gardens. Perfect before visiting the Presidental library but it would be nice by itself too.
We were celebrating my friend's 80th birthday . The food was delicious. It was a bit too noisy but the service by Bernard was awesome. He made my friend feel important and even sang Happy Birthday in a soft crooner voice. He was excellent
A fantastic restaurant for lunch. The food is amazing. The waitstaff are very professional and nice.
Lovely place for lunch. We enjoyed Laura Bush’s favorite sandwich, and the corn soup. The artwork and setting make this a nice venue.
Great place for lunch! I love taking out-of-town guests there after visiting the library! And my friend‘s daughter is starting SMU this fall, so another perfect time to entertain at lunch! Food and service wonderful!
We loved the atmosphere and cold temperatures in this hot August heat! Service was above and beyond excellent and the food was delicious. My husband had corn chowder soup with crab that he said was amazing! I had a dinner salad with their fabulous homemade balsamic vinaigrette which was outstanding. We both chose chicken enchiladas for our entree. The portion was huge and did not disappoint. Their refried black beans were also very delicious. Iced tea glasses were kept full. Can’t wait to go back!
Lovely ambiance and dining experience.
Excellent attentive service! We were seated right away. There is original art on display and even one of President Bush’s! You don't have to pay to park and just take the walkway to the Cafe. The food was delicious. We visited the gift shop, too, but did not have time for the library.
Bloody Mary was tasty and the chicken
enchiladas were amazing.
What a delight to eat at Cafe 43 for lunch. The atmosphere is quiet and beautiful. The service is outstanding and the food was delicious. There were six in my party and all of us ordered different entrees and desserts. None were disappointed. It is a treat to eat at this restaurant. We will definitely be back.
We had a salad and grilled chicken sandwich with fries and both were good, iced tea and service were excellent.
Eating at Cafe 43 is a special treat! The ambiance is wonderful for many different occasions. I feel "presidential" when I eat there.
My husband and I were disappointed in the quality of the food at this restaurant. It was billed as farm to table, upscale food. My husband enjoyed his Reuben corned beef sandwich, but the corned beef was simply packaged lunch meat. My lump crab salad came with a scoop of mayonnaise crab salad on the side of a small pile of mixed greens. It was ok, but tasted a bit fishy. Certainly not fresh. The pecan pie was tasteless, partially frozen, and the crust was tough and chewy. It was set on top of a strong bourbon sauce.
For the price and the advertised quality, this was a mediocre experience at best. The service was good, and we had a nice table next to the window. For your money, you could snack at the snack bar next to the courtyard, and eat somewhere else later.
A little loud for lunch conversation.
Good gluten free options
I love this restaurant and always include it as part of the day when visiting the Bush Library. Food is always fresh and delicious!
This is the fourth time I have dined at Cafe 43 and it did not disappoint! The food here is always delicious and the service is always magnificent.
Food was subpar. Had the Snitzel. Boring breaded chicken with boiled potatoes. Corn soup was good but a little spicy. Wine disappointing.
Beautiful room, delicious food, an excellent Brunch every time! (I have been here 4 times).
Good service. Very average food with limited options for vegetarians.
Table by the window area is hot in the summer, would prefer shades drawn when it's very hot in the afternoon, so the sun doesn't come thru so directly.
Great lunch after visiting the Presidential Library. Excellent service and made my husband's 50th birthday surprise special with some of the famous Bush cookies! Thanks for a great lunch!
The food was really good!! Had the avocado toast and the shrimp and crab with butternut squash. The service was also great.
We only go to Café 43 for lunch about once a year since it is so expensive, but we've had the same server several times and he makes it a pleasure to be there. Rafael G is simply the best and a delight to have around. Service is smooth and efficient, Rafael G is interested in us and always has something interesting to say, he made an older friend feel special on his birthday with a candle in his banana nut ice cream, he gives us time to talk and catch up without sacrificing service, etc. etc. The food at Café 43 is very good but the service from RG makes lunch seem special.
This is a must for delicious food and great ambiance.
The food was pricey for the amount we received////
The restaurant is just what you would expect: great choices on menu, great food, atmosphere friendly and quiet, prices reasonable.
Our wonderful experience started off with a warm welcome by the receptionist/hostess. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and offered timely service. The atmosphere was business casual and was conducive to a lunchtime conversation. We topped our delicious meal off with berry cobbler and a scoop of vanilla (bean) ice cream. Can't wait to go back to have another lunch. Reservations highly recommended.
Our lunch at Cafe43 between information sessions at SMU was perfect! Bernard & staff kept our glasses full on a hot day. Our entrees were appealing to our eyes & stomachs. Everything was delicious!
I have been to almost all the presidential museums. By far this is the absolute best restaurant. As a standalone restaurant it would also be a fantastic restaurant.
The co-host, I think her name is April at the front desk was outstanding. Your best asset.
Great place to sit, talk, and eat. Great food and service. And great cowboy cookies!
Great lunch spot. Lively crowd. Delicious food. Excellent service.
Great lunch experience all the way around. The banana pecan ice cream is to die for.
Out with friends and to see Retreats exhibit
Enjoyed the experience of Cafe 43 prior to our tour of the Library. It makes for a full day of discovery at the Library.
Touring the Library and Museum first, primed us for the uniqueness of Café 43. The food was served hot, fresh ingredients, interesting presentation, and great taste. A wonderful treat after a wonderful tour.
Cafe 43 is a jewel in a huge city! The servers are knowledgeable and willing to made changes to meet your unique taste. The salmon was cooked perfectly, served on a bed of quinoa with roasted tomatoes and asparagus! Delicious!
Love the ambiance. It’s cozy and intimate since the entire restaurant is one room with beautiful artwork and big windows. The pricing is very reasonable and the food does not disappoint. This is a Dallas gem.
We all loved our food and service was great. Did not disappoint for Father’s Day.
