Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Stylish, sassy, sociable, Café 21 at Fenwick is a department store diner with a difference. Full meals to wicked treats. The place to gossip, do business, relax. You deserve some me time.
Poached Eggs, Crushed Avocado, Lime and Chilli on Multigrain Toast
Sticky Toffee Pudding – Butterscotch Sauce
Omelette with York Ham, Gruyère Cheese or Fine Herbs
With thin-cut chips and garden salad
Excellent service and good food. We both had the omelette which was lovely served with skinny fries and a side salad . Also we both had deserts sticky toffee pudding with a butterscotch sauce and Creme Brûlée. Couldn’t fault the food . Looking forward to them reopening after lockdown to go back .
Very efficient service and we felt very safe given the situation. Best thing to do is book ahead as this made a big difference. Food was delicious and a good menu choice. You do pay a bit more but it is worth it. This was a return visit and would definitely be back.
We booked a table online but the restaurant reported we never turned up, which annoyed me massively. While the food has always been excellent here and was still very tasty, the portion sizes (especially fries) have dramatically reduced, which is not great.
Freshly prepared, tasty food, comfortable surroundings and great service!
Quality food with friendly and professional staff. A reliably good place to eat.
We enjoyed the food and it was served quickly and efficiently. We felt the tables were still too close together and we could have been placed further away from other diners, which would have made us feel safer.
Cafe21 Fenwicks is always my perfect place to eat
This is my favourite place to eat in all of Europe. Great food, great service. What more could you ask for?
Love it here morning coffee, Lunch or even afternoon tea it’s our go to place in Newcastle. The staff are super friendly and never fail to impress
We’ve been a lot to cafe 21 as we love it and hopefully in time the menu will expand to what it was before lockdown. Our waiter on Saturday was excellent and as usual everything was perfect.
Super food, delicious well prepared and great service. So pleased that you are open. It is one of the only restaurants I. Newcastle to present English favourites. Fresh vegetable beautifully cooked. Lovely staff.....
Couldn’t find fault with anything
It’s comfortable and efficient service always good presentation of food good And quality of food is really good
They know how to cook
Prompt service in pleasant surroundings.
Food very good. The only minor quibble was the poached eggs were only just warm.
Never fails to impress - super friend staff
As usual the food and service was great. A brilliant place with great staff 😁
very nice place to go and eat while out shopping.
Fantastic food and felt safe with Covid-19 policies in place.
One of the very best places to eat Newcastle, if not the best. Excellent food, excellent service, and great value.
First time my husband sent his lunch back in many years that we’ve eaten there. The ‘minute’ steak turned out to be rump and it was tough. However he changed it to the trout and said it was the best fish he’d eaten so well done Cafe 21!!
As always - fasntastic service and delicious food!
Whats going on here, this place used to be great.
So I ordered an omelette, at one time you used to get toast with it £9.95 so I've received I guess three eggs, cheese, chives and ham.
Ordered tea and shared two slices of sour bread toast.
Total cost for two people £32 (plus I still left a tip as it's no longer added). Sorry I won't be back no longer any sort of good value to eat there. Nice but simply not worth that for breakfast. £9.95 for an omelette by itself come on??
Waitress eventually twigged that our food order had been forgotten . Not usual standard since reopening. Much reduced menu .
The best thing about our Sunday lunch at 21 was the half portion beef dinner for our 12 year old.
He said it was delicious and very generous portion size!
Everything was good.
Felt very comfortable and safe in Covid times.
The only thing my hubby wasn’t so happy about was £3 for a glass of coke!
But we’ll still go back!
Always have a good meal at cafe 21 in Fenwicks. Service is always good as well.
Staff very attentive and polite. Scones very good. Poached eggs done well but not hot enough.
The ambience is rather lost , now no table-clothes, no music. Rather empty.
I feel sorry for the staff , they are doing their best.
Fantastic food and great service as usual, and felt safe in the current climate
Really great food with top class service
Very Good best omelette ever had, great to be back
Only team in newcastle cleaning tables properly
Well done x
Although I enjoyed the experience I was disappointed that when I asked for a tea top up I was only given a teapot of water. My mam pointed out that her tea was cold and she was advised to use some of my hot water. I would rather have paid extra for my mam and have a decent pot of tea, but this was never offered.
This was a very successful afternoon with friends spend in a comfortable atmosphere where we felt very safe. We had ordered afternoon tea and we were very happy with the selection of food provided.
Regular visitors.Enjoyed catch up lunch. Both ordered cheese souffle-lovely.
Staff always polite & efficient
Totally on top of Covid regs..
Cafe 21 @ Fenwick was well organised. The staff were attentive, friendly and extremely personable.
I felt very safe considering the C19 restrictions. There were only a few people in the restaurant mid afternoon. The afternoon tea was delicious, plenty of freshly made sandwiches, mini quiche and not too many cakes. The scones were light, tasty & warm. Very nice.
If I had any criticism it was that there were nuts in 3 of the cakes. Although neither myself or my grandaughter have an allergy she doesn’t like almonds and there was an abundance. Both in & as decoration. I love them. The Battenberg was scrumptious, but along with macaroon & coffee& ?hazlenut & Bakewell tart a more balanced selection Would have been preferable. (All beautiful) Thankyou for a lovely experience. Can’t wait until things get back to normal & I can visit Cafe 21’s more often.
Food and service great but coffee really overpriced. Filter coffee extortionate and flat white/Americano same price! More expensive than London! Realistically this is a cafe inside a department store In Newcastle. Really off putting considering mark up on tea and coffee is massive!
Enjoyable lunch. Good service. Quite expensive but tasty.
Food was fantastic however we were seated next to the kitchen which was quite noisy and the smell of eggs was at times over powering. Staff were great and the food itself was delicious.
Although the menu has been thinned down the food was still as great as ever. One of our favourite venues.
