Sad they will be closing at the end of March. This restaurant had been a great addition to the downtown Buffalo community.
Cabaret is a great restaurant. We had a wonderful meal.
Unfortunately, it will be our last as is is closing at yhe end of March 2020.
Great as usual. Sorry to see them go.
Wanted to eat there one last time before the restaurant closes due to retirement of the owners. Wishing them a long and happy retirement and want to say thanks for many wonderful meals.
We love Cabaret and always have a good time. The food was scrumptious, our server was the friendliest so we are very sad to see it close this month.
Service was terrible. There was an issue in the kitchen. The hostess was helping serve. It took over an hour to get served-2 salads
What a wonderful place to grab dinner before a show at Shea's! We had a 6:00 pm reservation and purposely arrived 30 minutes early to enjoy a cocktail at the bar before dinner. So glad we did! It was a very enjoyable evening. The bartender and waitress were both very attentive, and not at all in a hurry to rush us out the door. We loved the atmosphere; classy and elegant without being at all stuffy, with nice, light music playing in the background. The food was great too; especially the roasted red pepper & asiago soup! I would definitely return.
Note: I wrote moderate, they were child friendly and I saw a family with a 1 year old. I would guess it is pretty quiet without kids but great place great service and great food
The restaurant wasn’t very busy when we got there. Apparently, a show at Shea’s was cancelled. We weren’t in any rush and our waitress was super accommodating. (Sorry, I don’t remember her name) but she was great! I had a steak and shrimp special and hubby had chicken parmigiana. Both meals were way more than we needed and delish! Ambiance is pleasant. Sound level is a little high because there is no insulation to speak of. We try to get here when we are seeing a show downtown. It is a little pricey, but if that isn’t a factor, it’s a good place to go. We’ll be back!
Limited menu on show nights but food was good as well as the service.
Our food was amazing, piping hot coming out of the kitchen and incredibly delicious! Had the special- fettuccini with shrimp and husband had Gorgonzola chicken, paired perfectly with the Pinot from California. Food was outstanding and our server was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Will def come again!
It was great. Loved the atmosphere. The server left out some of the specials but overall great experience.
The service was excellent and food was prepared quickly. The chicken franchise and chicken Parmesan were delicious and the portions large.
The food was delicious, the service was great. Overall a very nice experience.
Very nice downtown restaurant to go to. Great food and service and with my reservation we were seated immediately.
They have changed their menu and was very disappointed in the lack of selection. The appetizer menu was very minimal and the well as the dinner selections. The service was mediocre as the waiter was not very attentive. However on a high note we ordered the steak special with shrimp and as always the food was good. We have been going there for dinner before Shea’s theatre for two years now and have seen the restaurant menu change. I do not feel this was a change for the better as the restaurant did not seem to bee as busy as normal. Looks like we will be trying someplace else before the show.
Found a long strand of hair in my salad. Menu limited. Everyone thought food was okay. Felt like server really didn't want to be there. $10 for a Manhattan. Disappointed. Would not go there again.
Good option for eating before or after Shea's. The steak we ordered as med rare came out well done, but the salmon was very good.
Yes, a delightful time was had by us three. Our server was very attentive. They had the steak and raved about it. I had the salmon and it was delicious.
Dinner was excellent. Would definitely return for dinner.
The online menu was terribly misleading and because my diet is gf and df I scope out all possibilities before choosing a location. They had a fabulous Manhattan Clam Chowder which is difficult to find and a hard cider so I was pleased and satisfied. The restaurant is cold. The server was excellent.
The upside to this restaurant is 1. it's very close to Sheas. 2. My server was very helpful and nice. The downside is that the menu is very limited, the food is just ok and the interior desperately needs an overhaul.
Upset they were out of the beet salad and the side of soup was very brothy and small. Also tables were very close together.
Our food was very good. Only minor complaint would be that the restaurant was cold
The food and service were amazing. There was a happy hour party going on at the bar which made the noise level higher than desired.
Worst waitress ever.. spent more time at bar talking then she did doing anything else. Never came back after food came. Bar tender came over and asked if we were ok.
The food was excellent!!!! Far exceeded our expectations! The service was very friendly and efficient! The atmosphere was cute, quiet, historic!! We will definitely be visiting again! Highly recommend!!
I would definitely go back. Our server and the bartender were great. Our group ordered a bunch of apps before our meals. They were all fantastic- wings, clams casino, and roasted garlic platter. Everyone loved their dinner except for me, which is the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5. I had the eggplant parm and it was disappointing. Not crispy like I hoped for and the spaghetti was a little dry and under sauced. I’ll be back though. Drinks were fantastic too. Good spot.
Awesome food- friendly service! Efficient dining, plenty of time to eat, drink and get to our show!
New Year’s Eve dinner for 3 people at 7:30PM. Waitress was personable, but a little pushy and then everything slowed down. Had to ask for bread. Slow getting are drinks served. Appetizers: clam casino was bland and stuffed hot peppers with extremely large amount of cheese and peppers were hot. 2 of us HAD LOBSTER RAVIOLI with 3 shrimps on top with red pepper cream sauce. The shrimps were cooked perfectly. Lobster ravioli with very little lobster, but not short on bread crumbs. No seasoning was noticed. The red pepper sauce sweet no spice in the sauce. Chicken Francais: chicken cooked well but no lemon taste. Pasta was not freshly cooked.
This is a restaurant not worth us going back.
New Year’s Eve menu was different and more expensive which we didn’t expect. Food and service were both great! Dining room was cold.
It was a first time for our friends. They truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the portion sizes. There was a little mess up with the beet salad. It came without the beets. Quick fix no worries. Will definitely be back.
Excellent as always! Love the eggplant, my son loved the gnocchi, my husband had the fettuccine Alfredo which they enjoyed. The banana peppers and spinach bread apps were awesome too!
Four of us ate here before a performance at a nearby theater. We had excellent service and the food
was very good. The lobster ravioli got top marks while the roast beef sandwich was tender and the fries
crispy and hot. The steak salad was tasty but the person ordering the chicken picata thought the chicken should have been pounded thinner. Coffee was excellent.
The decor of the restaurant is simple, the noise level can get a bit loud if the place is busy.
I did think it was a little chilly, though. Please, turn up the heat!
Good food, good service and atmosphere in the restaurant was great
I ordered the Beef Tenderloin, Wife got the salmon, Daughter got the lobster ravioli. Server was mostly attentive. Food was slow to be delivered. Waited 35 minutes between soup and entree being served. Ordered my beef medium rare, it was served well done and burned. Also, the entire plate was almost cold. However, my wife and daughters plates were hot. Told them about the beef tenderloin and they still charged me for the dinner. Very disappointed.
The food was great, the service was great, the noise level was terrible. We could hardly carry on a conversation at our table. I don’t know what you can do, but soundproof tiles maybe? Everything else was super
Poor service. Only 4 slices of bread (1 per
Person) without any butter. The seasoning oil was so small that you got one dip per person. The steak was tough. The ravioli was a small portion. Had to raise voice to get attention for more bread and dessert. She only had four tables and it wasn’t that busy. Normally we’ve had
Good experiences in the past but not this last visit.
We have eaten hee many times. Food and service is always top notch. We have our favorite server(Madeline) who gives top notch service no matter how busy.
