It was okay. Service was mediocre. Plates were small. Restaurant was beautiful. Food tasted great. Nothing special though
Food was excellent! Waiter’s was friendly. Atmosphere was warm and inviting.
As in the past, my husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal, with courteous, professional service. This dinner was in celebration of our 39th wedding anniversary, and we couldn’t have made a better choice. The ambiance was wonderful too, and we stayed to enjoy a movie after dinner with Sunset Flix. The grounds are meticulously groomed and the evening was an aesthetic feast as well. Thanks again!
Best restaurant of 2020!!! Beautiful place (indoor and out), cuisine, service...couldn't be happier. Shared the duck and pork chop. One of the finest we've enjoyed. Definitely returning!! Bravo to the chef and team!!
Everything me and my boyfriend ordered was delicious. We had the tuna crudo as an appetizer and it was amazing. There were so many different flavors going on and we enjoyed it a lot. For entrees we ordered the trout and duck and both were excellently prepared. Both dishes were delightful. Lastly for dessert we had the berry crisp and butterscotch pudding and those were also very scrumptious.
Fabulous. Outdoor dining in a beautiful little patio. A real treat.
Food was outstanding and the outdoor patio had a wonderful atmosphere. We will be back!
I frequently visit this restaurant and have ALWAYS experienced a wonderful meal. You must visit if in the area.
Food is excellent, albeit overpriced. Sign indicating restaurant needs clarity. Large letters say Hasbrouck House. But Butterfield lettering is very small, especially when trying to find it while driving by at 25 miles per hour. I passed it twice and complained to the host at the reception desk but got only an “I don’t know about it” answer with no promise to pass the complaint on to management. He could have at least said he would do that. The service was otherwise very good except for long delay in bringing dessert, even though the place was not busy at all. A gentle nudge did the trick, however, and it immediately arrived. Beautiful outdoor setting but quite a few insects, mostly ants, on our table next to stone exterior wall. Could use some bug spray there or fumigation, lol. Otherwise good experience.
We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Butterfield. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The service was top notch. The atmosphere was perfect for an upscale dining experience. Highly recommend.
Best French toast and frittata I’ve ever had!
I was so excited for brunch at the Hasbrouck House! We arrived a bit late (20 mins) but ended up waiting nearly 45 mins for our food and there was barely anyone there eating. We had to ask for our waiter to come by and take our beverage order. Their cocktails were amazing but their espresso machine was out and there was a thick sediment of coffee at the bottom of my drip coffee cup. And it took about 30 mins for the coffee to arrive at the table. Well after the cocktails:/ The food was good though! We had to ask for salt, pepper, hot sauce, etc, not sure if that is cover related or not. It just didn't feel like we were "taken care of" at such a level someone wants to be when they are at such a charming and well known establishment. I am hoping we just caught them at a bad time or an off day because the restaurant is absolutely charming and the food was great!! We would love to bring friends over again!
Food was very good just wish dinner menu had a few more vegetarian options besides mushroom risotto the night we were there - but chilled corn chowder was delicious
The staff was cordial and accommodating. Most of the dishes with the exception of the lobster salad were bland and disappointing-tasteless risotto and trout.
We had a wonderful brunch! The patio was lovely and service was excellent. The french toast is divine! Highly recommended.
Service and atmosphere were great. Sirloin was good, but for the price we paid for the pork chop, it was quite fatty. Disappointing.
It was really pretty sitting outside. Service was great. Food delicious. Very enjoyable experience.
VERY disappointed with this place ! 1. They have the audacity to charge customers $24 for a “meal” with straight up mush in a styrofoam box( white rice, two tomatoes, and a drizzle of basil). For appetizer MAYBE for a meal ??!? Who are you kidding! They called it a “ricotta/caprese,” yea SURE. No joke, I got robbed.
2. They some how had my friend and I’s order Ready in less then 5 minutes...Were we given left overs? I think so. 🤮
This is supposed to be a “high end” and well respected facility. Yea sure, not impressed AT ALL .
2 stars because the movie part was fun.
Ate outside, there were 4 tables with social distancing.
Food is always good as is service.
Always find eating there a pleasant experience.
This was our first time out to dinner under the new rules for social distancing. The staff was extremely accommodating and professional, the outside seating was spacious with a great view of deer, bunnies and even a flying squirrel, the food was absolutely the best thing I've eaten in months! I highly recommend this place to all who would like to safely celebrate a special event.
Beautiful place and nice menu! Outdoors is amazing! Will have to try butcher bar next time!
Everything was great except for the service, was never asked about liquor refills, never asked about satisfaction with meals. Had to flag down the waiter and waiting a while for a glass of champagne. Can’t blame it on over crowding, it just seemed like no one really cared. Food and location were excellent. Music really nice.
Great experience, Mauricio our server was very attentive and helpful. We also stayed at Hasbrouck which we really enjoyed and would highly recommend. One thing to note with butterfield is that the portions are very small, we ordered a steak thinking it was enough for 2 but it was cut into pieces over a salad. It was delicious and I would recommend but the portions are on the smaller side.
Butterfields called just as we arrived for dinner,
They said we do not know how you made this reservation becuase we are still closed due to COVID19 and we do not have a date to open yet.
The manager said thye do not know why table top is taking reservation.
That they will contcat you to correct this matter.
Great outdoor seating. The service was great, thank you.
It was our five year anniversary and we were staying out the hotel. The food and service was excellent. We had a great evening. Hope to come back soon!
A bit expensive but we loved every bite. Great space and great service.
Everything we ate was so delicious and the service was excellent- cozy tables and ambience, and really lovely setting. Definitely recommend the smoked sturgeon, the roasted lamb with chimichurri, as well as the bruléed citrus tart. All around 5 stars!
This restaurant was highly recommended and I wanted to try it for quite some time. We were seated immediately, the server was attentive, friendly and efficient and answered all questions. Drink selections and cocktails and beers were great. Great whisky sour. The food was all tasty and excellent... fried cauliflower, roasted shishito peppers, broccoli soup, cheese plate, venison, short ribs, lamb chops. It was all expertly seasoned and cooked. My only critique is that for the money (entrees are all in the mid to high $30's) the portions were really just too small. The lamb chops consisted of just 2 chops, the venison consisted of just 2 medium slices about 1" thick and the short ribs looked like two medium size meatballs. Not nearly enough food for almost $40 per entree. Dinner for 3 with tip and only 2 drinks, no deserts was $250. We left full, but the entrees should have each been about twice as big.
Food was great. Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was achingly romantic and cozy. Perfect winter's evening dinner and ambiance. Loved it!
Really nice room and great service! We enjoyed ourselves! The food was good, not great though- we enjoyed it but it didn’t knock our socks off. Nice time.
We celebrated Valentines Day at Butterfield and it was very, very good. Ee tried the lobster bisque to start... tasty with chunks of lobster and nice garnishes. The fish entree and the curried veggie dish were good too, and the desserts at the finish were not only beautiful, but delicious too. The ambiance is exceptional, adding to the pleasure of dining here.
There was a long hair in my food that ended up in my mouth, completely disgusting. When I told the server, he replied with, “ok, thank you”. Then our table was cleaned with a bleached rag leaving the smell of bleach mid meal. Horrible. At the end of the meal we were brought complimentary wine. The wine was completely opposite of what my date ordered. She only drinks dry wine which she ordered, but yet we were give cold sweet wine right out of the refrigerator on night that was freezing outside. It felt like we were given the cheapest option just to appease the hair in my food. I felt like the price point didn’t even come close to the experience. No desire to return
We got there early and were greeted by friendly staff. The restaurant is within a historic building. Food was well presented and wonderfully prepared. We recommend it highly.
Fantastic salad, scallops, dumplings and venison. Service was warm and relaxed in the best way possible. We'll be back.
We went for New Year 4 course experience! It was done very elegantly & beautifully. Thank you
We were there for New Years Eve so the ambiance was lively. We have eaten here a number of times before and the food is always very good. Service can be a bit off and this time it was more strained as the room was full. However, the bar staff was and has always been great.
Great dining experience to usher in the new year
We went as a gift and will be going back! Our waiter knew the entire menu including the nuance of each dish. The kitchen then followed through with two outstanding dishes. My wife’s trout was fresh and my duck was perfect. Rich but not greasy as poorly cooked duck can be. Our entire dinner including drinks and dessert was $125. Well worth it for this type of quality.
