Tolles Essen - vor allem das Fleisch war hervorragend- toller und aufmerksamer Service.
Food was excellent, service was impeccable. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the way in thru the hotel was a little offputting.
Late dinner after nicks game
Food and service were great. I didn't give an above average rating to Butcher and Banker NYC because they were out of the Kan-Kan Pork standard menu item at 6:30PM on a Saturday night - something that I had my heart set on when I first reviewed the menu online.
The evening started off well, meeting friends for a drink and dinner. The server came over told us about the specials and than asked us for our drink order. I order a simple club soda with lime, but the drink came with a lemon. When I requested a lime I was told no problem but it never arrived to the table. From there the dinner went south. 3 steaks dinners were ordered, but I ordered the salmon and asked how I would like the fish prepared, I requested rare. The entrees arrived, while all the steak entrees came out at the correct temperature my salmon was extremely well done. It took about about 10 mins before we could get an attention of a server to request the fish to be prepared correctly.
While I waited and watched my friends and family get half way through their entrees my second entree came out of the kitchen raw! Sashimi raw! Again the fish was sent back my party finished their dinners before I even got my plate back. While the server did take my entree off the bill, an apology from management would have been appreciated. Needless to say I will not be back.
Oh, the side dishes were not tasty either. In my opinion carrots should be peeled
Took my boyfriend for his birthday with my sister in law and brother in law and absolutely loved it!! We tried the Full Monty, Tomahawk steak, Filet Mignon and i can honestly say everything was absolutely PERFECT!! I have no complaints and would definitely recommend this place!!
Only had burgers- they were great! Onion rings and French fries- will definitely go back to try other dishes.
3rd time coming here but service was not up to par of what we'd experienced prior. No appetizer plates so we were left staring at dishes before we could eat them, sugar holders covered in chocolate and ketchup/sauce splotches. Waiter was hard to find to refill water glasses. The steaks were delicious but duck fat pancake came out differently than last times we'd ordered (prior was in skillet, this time on plate) and was oily/mushy... We'd brought friends but they were less than impressed.
Went there to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. Staff was wonderful and the food and drinks were perfect!
Sitting inside a vault was fun however the bar service was slow and the overall cost seemed high. We also got there a little early and the bar-table service was really slow despite only having few patrons.
Excellent dining experience
Excellent food... great steaks, seafood and lamb.
authentic atmosphere with very good services and excellent menu.
The level of apathy displayed by the staff was unbelievable. The waiter was bothered by our requests - which were simply - appetizers, wine and desert - other than a request for water, there were no other request. The assistant waiter / busboy essentially tossed my wife's desert on the table as he scampered away and ignored her asking him a question. The meal was average - below NY steakhouse standards.
The novelty of dining in "The Vault" wasn't nearly enough to make up for a very poor overall dining experience.
No surprisingly, my request to speak with a manager and my email to the restaurant, went unanswered
Great Ribeye and the James Rose drink was amazing if you love lemon. Awesome place - I cannot wait to visit again.
Loved the experience will be back soon
I wanted to like this place but did not. The decor is nice. I went with my 6yo daughter, and it seemed as soon as they saw her, that they wished we were not there. It took over 15 minutes to get our drinks. The service was very average and at times hard to attract our waiter. The salad had old wilted greens, hard to do with iceberg lettuce. I ordered the duck and could almost not eat it. Sorry will not go back.
A true surprise! Excellent service, food and atmosphere! Will definitely come back.
The steak was really fatty. The macaroni and cheese did not taste good it was really bland .
Very touristy, bathrooms were gross- covered in dust. Food was fine, but not go back. Attached to the hotel too but downstairs
Great experience, they served us complimentary champagne for our anniversary. Amazing indoor decor. The Mac and cheese and the mash potatoes were bland though.
We enjoy ourselves, the food the drinks and service were amazing
Everything was awesome, the steaks are cooked perfect, highly recommend the filet sliders! The Duck day potato cake was mind blowing! Highly recommend!
My wife and I enjoyed the food and service. Well deserved evening out for us and we couldn’t have picked a better place.
Great little spot hidden in the basement of the Wnydam. Well worth checking out, even if you just sit at the bar for a drink
Very cool environment. Steaks were excellent, though one was a little overcooked, another a littler undercooked. Mashed potatoes were uninspired, but the duck fat potato cake was excellent. Our waiter was very good and helpful. Overall an enjoyable experience.
A fantastic dining experiance, the food, ambiance and service were great, we were seated in the vault and had a perfectly cooked Tomahawk steak. The service was above exceptional, Nestor, Hector and ledion were outstanding, excellent attention to detail and service throughout . Highly recomend this establishment.
One of the coolest steakhouses anywhere. Dining inside a classic bank vault, against a wall of safe deposit boxes, makes this a special place even before you order. But the food is 5-star and the service top-notch.
Romantic, cool vibe in this NYC steakhouse that was once a bank with the vault a prominent feature in the restaurant. Food and service were excellent, well paced and nicely served. Not a big restaurant and in the basement of the New Yorker hotel it is well worth a visit.
my husband and I ordered a bone in rib eye. the quality was not very good . My steak had a funny smell to it, but i just thought it was grass fed so i did not complain. I would not go back as there are so many other steak houses in NYC. Service was slow with drink order.
Service a bit rushed, Steak was fantastic & cocktails were delicious!
This is another example of how a great location is immediately ruined by poor table service and terrible food. Ordered a cowboy ribeye and it looked like a piece of meat from Aldi's. So much fat on it and tasted like body odor. Ordered spinach and swear it was cooked with all the garlic in the kitchen. When I informed the server, took 5 minutes for the manager to arrival and all he could offer was the desert menu. Didn't even clear the food from the table. Don't ever go to the place.
Great night out and delicious steak dinner!
My girlfriends and I got together for our annual birthday celebration. I chose our place to dine and I couldn't not have made a better choice. Our appetizer was the Maryland Crab Cake, Short Ribs Taco (which the waiter provided even though it is served at the bar only) and I ordered the Crab Cocktail. All appetizers were succulent, fresh and delicious. Our main courses consisted of Cowboy Bone-In Rib Eye Steak, Butcher's Tenderloin and I had the Five Spice Duck Steak. All meat was cooked to perfection, and seasoned well. We ended the evening with an apple tart, chocolate mouse and I had the Coffee Martini. both of my friends complimented me on how I know how to pick great restaurants with great food. I am not a steak eater but would venture to eat it again at a reputable place such as this. We would love to dine with them again. Come prepared to $$$$$$
Really unique and delicious dining experience inside an old bank vault. Traditional favorites like Filet, Roast Chicken and Duck Breast, accompanied with artfully prepared sides. Definitely want to return. Access is through the Windham Hotel but it is definitely not a hotel restaurant.
Food was only ok - ambience nice but really it's a hotel restaurant.
If you are a fan of oysters and bone marrow; this restaurant is recommended. Keep in mind the bone marrow is not the small portion you get at other restaurants. 3 juicy, long, large, meaty, mouthwatering pieces. A +
Excellent food service and ambience. A hidden gem under the New Yorker Hotel. Made me feel like old time NYC. I would definitely recommend to friends and I would go back. Beautiful quiet & cozy bar also!!
Excellent dining experience, a new steakhouse favorite in NYC!
This was a recommendation from a couple of coworkers. My grown daughter and I were having a girls weekend in NYC. I picked her up from penn station. It was a four minute walk from there. The service was perfect. Our waiter was very good at reading our cues and didn’t press us to order right away. Wine service was A+. Then the food! We had the filet with mushrooms and the duck with cherry sauce and cheese grits. Both were outstanding. Of course, it was on the pricey side, but that meal was worth every penny. Well done!
