Burrawang General Store
We often go there. We had guests at the weekend, and this our favourite place to take them, Summer or Winter. They have a lovely heater in the Winter. The food is always delicious and served very promptly.
Absolutely brilliant!!! Really enjoyed dinner, as did my partner. Thanks!
Amazing food (the honey cheesecake was divine!) and great service - highly recommend.
Food was delicious and plentiful. We’ve recommended it to others as a must stop if you’re in the southern Highlands
Great service and fantastic food. Great half way meeting place between Canberra and Sydney
This is a wonderful cafe / restaurant with good options for vegetarians and super-helpful staff. Our lunch here was a highlight of our highlands break.
Couldn't recommend this cafe highly enough. Lovely staff, great food and super location.
Second time to this lovely venue and the current owners having it running like clockwork, and with the added touch of excellent service.
As a family group enjoying a pre-Christmas gathering we really appreciate the attentive service and the great food.
Thank you so much to the whole team who delivered efficient and friendly service with a personal touch.
Took my friend there while we were on a day visit to "The Highlands".
I had been there before with my sister who lives locally & thoroughly enjoyed it.
This visit was just as memorable.
We tried the "Tipple of the Day". So tasty I had to have another one.
Our main was the salmon-just delicious.
The old signs & other decorations give the "General Store" a great ambience.
All in all a great visit.
I had the stuffed ricotta French toast. It was delicious but 3 pieces was too much for all the people at our table who ordered it. Maybe 2 pieces and drop the price?
Very enjoyable lunch to celebrate a Birthday. Great atmosphere, service and meal. Loved Burrawang what a lovely quiet little town.
Burrawang General Store never disappoints - it is a gem!
Lovely atmosphere and food. Beautiful in winter especially due to the big open fire.
We enjoyed a very nice lunch, food was lovely and well presented and service was professional and attentive without being intrusive. This was our second visit and we were not disappointed, thank you!
We live in Sydney's south west suburbs and have been looking for somewhere we had not been to for a relaxing breakfast/brunch. We came across the Burrawang General Store after a little internet searching. We were not disappointed. The service was very friendly. The layout of the restaurant was spacious and they have numerous 'old' items on show. The food was well cooked and presented. The coffee was great!! We will visit again.
Great Bike ride to the venue. Best sticky date pudding I’ve had in ages.
Love the atmosphere at The General Store. We had a lovely lunch and the dessert was amazing. Would highly recommend a visit to this place.
This was our first visit to the Burrawang General Store and it won't be our last. We were most impressed & we are relatively local (Gerringong). The breakfast hamburger was outstanding! I'd have it again!
This was our first visit to the cafe and we were greeted with both a warm, cosy environment and friendly service. The menu selection had something for everyone. Loved that it served an all day breakfast but had a good choice of lunch specials also. The wine list included a selection of local wines that we appreciated. Our meals were served in good time and were delicious and we agreed it was good value. We will be back again.
Friendly and rustic this is one of my favourite places to dine in the Southern Highlands. The menu takes classics and gives them a seasonal twist, stunningly presented. A must visit for all appetites
Always love the drive to Burrawang. So pretty. The old store has just the right amount of character, and the food and coffee and the yummy cakes are worth the drive from Bundanoon.
What a hidden gem! Well worth the scenic drive to Burrawang. Lovely to have an alfresco experience weather permitting. Enjoy the warmth of the pot belly stove if dining inside. The store is like walking back in time. Great food and service. Open 8am-4pm every day. We'll be back.
The 2 male waiters did not smile. One shorter guy did not say please or thank you to anyone
Well worth the visit to such a quaint little village and a lovely meal at the General Store.
The setting is interesting, old building and decorated with old collectables. On a very cold day it was lovely and warm around the fire. Food was great! The jalepeno corn bread was spicy but yummy. Actually the food looked just like the photos on their website.
This is my second visit and it did not disappoint. The food, the drink selection, the service - all perfect in every way .... we left perfectly content.
Not our first visit, this is one of our favourite cafes, would highly recommend.
Wonderful visit and can’t wait to come back with friends, as it’s a must do venue.
Until next time........
Good food; great service; super coffee. While we had an inside table it was a nice touch to see outside patrons with knee rugs . We arrived and our table wasn't ready but we were kept updated and it was not hard to stand in front of the pot belly fire keeping dry and warm. We also had an extra , which we hadn't advised previously, but again that was no trouble. Staff very pleasant; building amazing. We will be back
This is a lovely local cafe with very tasty food and lovely staff. I would definitely eat here again.
Outstanding service, wholesome food & beautiful location. They were even ultra accommodating with our over excited Labrador puppy. Will definitely return ASAP
Arrived early and were happily given a table - staff were friendly and accommodating
Had breakfast here on Easter Monday with my family. I had booked as we were coming from Sydney. They had the table set up ready for us. Fabulous food and service!
Overall had a lovely lunch. However I did not like the watermelon and rice that was part of the Burramundi meal. All personal taste however and others may love it.
Fabulous! A Highlands Gem well worth a visit.
We visited for their valentine's dinner. Lovely setting and the food was marvelous.
Special mention for the meat served. Which is sourced locally, worth the visit.
I invited 5 guests to experience our great location, food and wine. We had a good location that allowed us to chat without annoying other guest, but still able to see the busy team keeping everyone happy. Food was great and plentiful at a very reasonable price.
I am a local and love going to the Burrawang General Store Cafe whether for breakfast coffee or lunch and the occasional special dinner night. The food, ambience and friendly atmosphere is always a draw card for locals and visitors alike.
This is one of the best places to dine in the Southern Highlands. Definitely worth a visit. The food is 5 star and the ambience amazing. Highly recommended.
One of our favourite cafes/restaurants in the Southern Highlands. We go there often. It's just such a pleasant place with terrific food and service. The staff are always friendly and courteous and well presented. The garden is a delightful setting on a nice day too.
Oh, and it has the best toilets in the region!!
