Burrawang General Store
The food was great but unfortunately our experience wasn’t as enjoyable due to the drinks arriving just as we were about to finish our meals. I’ve had to get up twice to check on progress of what was supposed to be very simplistic drinks. Unfortunately there just didn’t seem to be much urgency.
Having Kitchen staff delivering food was poor form.
2 wrong dessert delivered with no apology.
In no hurry to go back.
Lunch with a friend, the Autumn Salad with Pretzel Crusted Chicken is my absolute favourite but I'm really wanting to try the beautiful pies. I was able to use my Dining Voucher which made it a very inexpensive meal. A unique dining experience in the Highlands, very different from the usual fare on offer and in a beautiful location. Can't wait to come back for the pie!
Wow. Have been before and once again great.
Our guest was late but staff totally understanding.
Food excellent, and sensible small menu.. great wine list ( local as we are).
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful
We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts - the eggs were perfectly cooked and the local bacon is to die for. My friend commented that "They really know how to make scrambled eggs". This is a very big deal to her! Lovely friendly staff and such a beautiful old building. The lunch menu looked really tempting so we'll definitely be back to try that and pick up some more house made jams.
Excellent venue, ambiance & friendly staff. I would recommend to friends and also visit again.
Outstanding cafe for breakfast and lunch. Great food and coffee .
Always wonderful! It was a cold and wet day but the lovely fresh food and truly great coffee made for a great brunch. Add friendly staff and a beautiful building and you have a great dining experience.
Lovely large venue. Would benefit from having the fire going on a cold wet morning.
Food lovely .
The pancake stack was fabulous. The lemon curd was zesty and tangy. Coffee lovely too
Great restaurant/coffee shop in a beautiful town. The menu caters for most tastes. We felt the service and food were a little bit too relaxed as some of our meals were not hot enough and poorly presented. I'll happily give them another go but will be expecting a better showing.
Food was delicious, and service was prompt. A very nice enjoyable morning out. The girls even enjoyed the garden.
Wonderful General Store in the delightful village of Burrawang. We had a lovely brunch & couldn't fault the delicious food & excellent coffee & would return in a heartbeat! The lady who owns this wonderful establishment is also very friendly.
Great food and efficient service in a pleasant environment. We had a great time and recommend this venue highly.
What a lovely venue! We were there for a catch up with friends and had a wonderful breakfast (fluffy pancakes and the Elle’s Breakfast we had seen on Instagram) and my coffee was so good I was truly disappointed when I finished it. Friendly professional staff in smart uniforms. Great experience from start to finish plus the sun came out and we had a stroll through the beautiful garden before leaving. We will be back again soon.
Lovely location with great food and friendly service, will definitely come back and bring friends with us
Took our daughter out for lunch and wished we had gone somewhere else.
On the table there is a device where you can order food. We were attempting this when the male waiter arrived to take our order.
There was confusion re sauces on burgers and he sighed heavily with contempt and impatience and then poked me in the shoulder with his finger to make his point!
The burger was delicious but no ambiance to speak off. We used to enjoy this cafe but won’t return.
Love the place. Burrawang a very nice Village. General Store has great Service & Food gr
Absolutely delicious food - I had the House-cured Salmon on Rye with cream cheese, red onion and caperberries, and my companion, the Gatherer's Bowl (veg). Our meals were tasty, beautifully presented and so fresh - we ate every last bite.
Excellent coffee and teas, along with a range of delicious-sounding cocktails on a menu with something to suit everyone.
The building itself is beautifully restored with an enchanting garden. The staff are friendly and there's a glass case of freshly store-made cakes that made our mouths water.
Burrawang is the cutest little village and the General Store is an absolute must visit.
Lovely food & atmosphere. Great for brunch. Delicious muffins
Wonderful experience. Highly recommend the burger - the relish was outstanding!
Loved our breakfast of Elle's dish. The plate was warm, very important, and the coffee just the right temperature. Well worth the drive from Bundanoon.
I found the gazpacho a little bland.
There was a stuff up with my bread order - I meant it to accompany the gazpacho but it arrived after I had finished.
Otherwise it was all excellent and we have already encouraged others to go.
Not what it once was. Haphazard service together with a more limited menu and poor knowledge of ingredients resulted in an average experience. The garden bowl was fairly uninspiring. We’ve decided to give the General Store a miss for the foreseeable future.
Fantastic food! I don't normally eat salad but was tempted by the summer salad and was not disappointed! Incredibly tasty, a riot of flavours and very generous with all the good bits. My partner had the house cured salmon which could be described the same way.
The menu is a little limited but most folks should be able to find something to their taste on it. All the food coming out looked fantastic with great attention to detail in the presentation.
A little more warmth in the initial greeting would help overcome all the covid regulation unpleasantness but overall the floor staff were great.
Do yourself a favor and grab something out of the display case as you settle the bill, my partner insisted on a piece of slice for later and I am so glad she did, wow I'm glad we only could have half each this thing was amazing nuts, caramel, bliss!!
Wide selection of dishes on the menu. The food arrived in a timely manner and the service was excellent. The surroundings are nostalgic.
The food here was just stunning and beautifully presented. We where so impressed. Meals came quickly and desert was to die for
Charming atmosphere, great service. Varied, interesting menu. My lunch, home cooked beans, roasted beetroot etc was delicious. Excellent coffee.
What a great place for a leisurely lunch (or late breakfast). The food we chose was excellent, tasty and good portions, however we did find the menu rather limited for a lunch. The breakfast menu was much more expansive. Nonetheless we totally enjoyed ourselves and would be happy to return.
Had a beautiful spot in the sun on the front porch to share breakfast with my fiancé. From the moment we arrived the staff were genuine (particularly the young lady who cleaned the table as we waited, it was her first day and she had a lovely welcoming smile and approachability - well done, sweetheart!). Loved our meal, particularly loved the table ordering and payment process, a definite way of the future I think....Have always loved this spot, and we will be back! Thanks, Team!
Loved our experience at the Burrawang General Store. Thank you
The location is lovely, the interior is very attractive, the food and the young service staff are excellent. The welcome is a bit on the frosty, stanoverish, side even bearing in mind the COVID restrictions. A less austere first impression would make the experience a lot more enjoyable.
lovely place to escape the rush of the city. However the food was way overpriced. $28 for an average hamburger is not good value
Perfect brunch spot. The cornbread rules!! Grab a seat on the front porch if you can
Everything was excellent but I really don’t like the way you have to order your food prefer to have my order taken by a person
Beautifully finished establishment with great food to match.
Delightful and unassuming little place. Great food, great service and an all round pleasant dining experience.
From the moment we entered the cafe we were concerned,as the smell from used oil penetrated the whole atmosphere. We requested a lunch menu. The mains consisting of 3 items only, a salad, a hamburger and fish-which was unavailable. As we were trying to celebrate a birthday-there seemed little cause for celebration . The service was unprofessional and disappointing. Because this cafe was introduced to us by Open Table we assumed that there would be certain standards adhered to,which they most definitely were not.
The place was easy to find. The restaurant people were welcoming. The service was great and the food was delicious. It was a great experience.
