Bulletin Place was opened in 2012 by three bartenders to make a bar with “all of the things we liked, none of the things we hate” about bars.
They picked up a cheap lease on a former Japanese noodle joint, did most of the renovations themselves while spending more money on the ice machines than on furniture.
Now, around 8 years later, this hard to find, “shoe-box sized” 45-seater room is one of Australia’s most awarded-ever bars and recognised globally for the quality of drinks, friendly team and casual vibe.
We are open Wednesday to Saturday from 5 pm and located 1min walk from Circular Quay, perfect for after-work, pre-dinner, post-dinner and sod-it-lets-skip-dinner drinks & nibbles.
We are open late each night for cocktails, whiskies, wine & beer, perfect for pre and post gigs & shows at the Sydney Opera House. (~8 mins walk).

Our “Drink the Menu” selection is the perfect way to experience Bulletin Place. Each week, an award winning bartender curates the menu to reflect Australia’s diverse seasonality, utilising a range of market fresh produce. Coupled with a variety of premium spirits, honeys, spices and herbs, there is always something for everyone. This selection may be shared between two people.

We met with friends for drinks before dinner. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much effort. Service was great and quick. The cocktails were delicious . I have already recommended this bar to my work friends

I love the range of cocktails the place had, but was a little disappointed as they don’t have much food choices. Since it’s a bar, I really don’t expect them to have gourmet course food, but having at least wedges or chips will definitely be awesome

Absolutely perfect - took a friend here for drinks and we tried multiple cocktails, each one of them delicious and like none we’d ever tried. The staff were super helpful, knowledgeable and attentive as well. Can’t wait to come back!

This was our first visit to Bulletin Place. I picked it for post marriage-proposal cocktails. She said yes! - so we were both ready for some seriously good cocktails, and we were not disappointed. We had three different cocktails each, including customised. All were excellent - and very memorable. The mixologists were very friendly, and highly knowledgeable. We always try and sit at the bar so we can learn more about what we were drinking, and we certainly left the bar a little bit wiser. We were the first to arrive (at 5pm), and by the time we left 90 mins later the place was buzzing and almost full. Highly recommended as an intimate meeting place for after work drinks. Will definitely return.
