Brasserie of Light

The decor is beautiful besides the not so good food and service. So I will recommend it for a coffee.
Lovely time
Terrible service
Overall the restaurant is stunning to look at the ambience is perfect service and food excellent. Enjoyed every moment, this time and previous visits too.
It was very nice , I liked it
While the food itself wasn’t bad, our overall New Year’s Eve experience at Brasserie of Light was quite unpleasant. The restaurant hired a live DJ who played appallingly loud (at dance club volume) and appallingly bad electronic music all evening, making table conversation essentially impossible. We mentioned this to one of the backwaiters, who sympathised and told us that they had a headache after working there all evening.
The main waiters managed to be both unavailable and pretentious.
Gorgeous food and a beautiful setting. This is my son’s favourite restaurant - he has been a few times and wanted me to experience it, and it didn’t disappoint. The one slight gripe is that the tables are very close together so it does feel like you’re either eavesdropping on someone else’s conversation and/or their bottom is in your dinner as they squeeze past to go to the loo. However overall it was fab and I would recommend.
Wonderful ambiance. Very kind staff. Prices are acceptable .
Lovely lunch on New Years Eve set us up for the evening. Great food great service and good ambiance. We are regular visitors.
All my family enjoy coming here would definitely recommend.
Lovely meal and nicer earlier in the evening when the music isn't too loud to allow conversation.
Everything is top notch. Brassiere is essentially a restaurant in a department store. In most places that combo seems like a formula for disaster. In Selfridges, it’s pitch perfect. The ambience, the lighting, the service, all were wonderful. Most important, the food and preparation was FANTASTIC! And, the DRINKS!!!! OMG! It was all so good that I visited twice. Fantastic place and a must visit if you’re near Bond Street.
The food and service are always outstanding. However, the noise level is quite high and the tables have minimum distance between each other.
Was a very pleasant discovery loved everything had no more room for deserts but the ones on table next to us looked absolutely amazing the presentation out of this world
We had a good afternoon tea with sandwiches (a bit dry), nice scones and cakes. The room is spectacular providing a unique setting to impress. Service is friendly and helpful.
The window seating wasn’t all pleasant - very crowded and crammed between one table and next. But the highlight was the food - amazing taste! We ordered vegetarian options they were all good. The toilet was glam but please can you take care of the smell. Thank you!
Make sure server writes and repeats your order .... Or gets it wrong
Bang Bang Chicken is toooo spicy and overdressed and nothing like the same dish served in West Street
What a delightful experience! Lovely staff, I can’t remember the name of the young girl who looked after us but she was super attentive and accommodating. Food was really tasty and good value for money. I have been there many times but this was by far my best experience there. Recommend the heavenly desserts. Well done! Keep up good work guys.
EXCELLENT FOOD AND DRINKS
VERY ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE
Always impressed when I go here they do the best hot chocolate too 🤗
Good food but very erratic service.
Great venue and food. Music doesn't have to be so loud though.
Room is lovely. Music too loud for conversation. Service is good. Food is fine. It's basically a restaurant in a department store, so would only visit if I fancied a bite while shopping. Would not go there otherwise.
Very poor for the location, average food ,poor service a good one to miss !
Service at the table was great, really good. Cloakroom was a disaster zone!!
I was not impressed with the attention to serving us
I have eaten many times at this local eatery
Side orders came after main course
Bill was given to me before my coffee
Very amateurish
The tables for 2 people are too close together and hence there is no privacy. I saw a person squeeze past the table next door and his jacket tail went through the scrambled egg of the next table.
Remove one table for two on each side of the central divide to give more space.
Was extremely busy and the table was not ready at the tome it was booked. We arrived early and there was nowhere to sit at the bar so we came back and still had to wait for the table.
It was heaving with people and if you along the back area it is almost impossible to hear the person opposite you speak and so wouldn’t ever sit there again.
Food was good although the french fries/chips are a bit pathetic.
Service and food is just fine.
Landmark restaurant for youtuber or ins.
Amazing interiors and tasty cocktails. Would definitely recommend to try chicken truffle dumplings and desserts! Sweet treats looks like a masterpieces. Can get loud if busy.
The service is the worst . So slow and inattentive. In order to get the dessert menu one has to ask 3 staff members! In order to be served you wait for more than 40 minutes !
The food is amazing yes but you expect a different level of service
Was a special occasion for our overseas relatives and it never let us down again. They were amazed and delighted with their experience. I have visited here many times before and have never been disappointed. Everything was perfect.
I will go back soon.
Very pretentious. Host rude and dismissive on arrival and food average.
It's not often a department store scores well with a cafe. But Brasserie of Light is so epic with the fitout (mirrored French / artDeco mosaic), fantastic staff, and brilliant menu that you can't find fault.
Amazing atmosphere!
I was so happy when the Brasserie of Light opened at Selfridges and thought it would always be the perfect place to dine when shopping at there. However on the two occasions that I have dined there so far, I have found it to be extremely cramped. The tables are pushed together so much that you are basically in the conversation of the person sitting on the table next to you. The tables have to be moved to let you step out from behind your table - really not an enjoyable experience. The restaurant itself, the food and the welcome to the restaurant is amazing - cannot fault that. However unfortunately I will not be dining there any more (unless the restaurant was half empty). Such a shame - it is a beautiful restaurant - but I am sorry to say is not the atmosphere I like when I am dining . The Brsserie of Light would be a wonderful restaurant if the tables were not so close together. Therefore The Corner Restaurant remains my favourite at Selfridges.
The check in staff there were horribly incompetent and rude. I turned up on time for my scheduled reservation with my guest ready to have a lovely lunch but the host proceeded to try and seat us at the worst possible table which was not even in the main dining room. I expressed my dissatisfaction and then he asked us to wait 10 minutes for a better table. Apparently, he forgot about us as 20 minutes or so passed and we went back and he tried to place us at basically the same table and then he snootily said that nothing else would be available after he made us wait. We then asked to speak with a manager who was completely vacant and could not be bothered helping so we left. We dine at the best restaurants all over the world and would rather not be bothered with stupidity. Unfortunately, this restaurant is poorly managed with an inexperienced and basic team.
It was an evening with my daughter. I think the restaurant is great but the tables are too close together. The service was fantastic. Will definitely go back.
One of my favourite early evening places in London!
Went with family and had a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect. Thank you.
