We were the only couple in the restaurant still took 45 minutes to get our main course, no starters ordered. No wine list offered, and my rib eye, was definitely not a rib eye. Dried up mushroom, Dried up tomato. Chips with truffle were nice. Tagine was really a sweet potato curry!!

Food was absolutely delicious! Service brilliant! The actual restaurant was sadly lacking atmosphere/warmth.

Had a booking but were advised that the chef was busy and we could either wait an hour or go elsewhere.

Zoe and the team made us very welcome. We started with cocktails in the bar before moving to the restaurant. The team were attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant was very comfortable and our experience was enhanced when a pianist started to play. Our food was delicious.

Had an afternoon tea at the Abode, Canterbury. The food was exceptional, there was a good variety of sandwiches, wraps, sausage rolls and quiche. There were the traditional fruit scones with cream and jam and the cakes were delicious. All the food was amazing and plenty of it. There was a good selection of different teas to choose from as well. The service was very good, they did not rush us and were very polite and courteous. It made my friend’s birthday celebration very special and will definitely be going back again. Highly recommend, such good value for money.

I had a lovely time overall and would return, but there were a few areas that could be improved. • The bread on the cheese and pickle sandwiches was a little dry, and the overall sandwich and cake selection felt limited. • The meat platter and the scones were excellent. • I tried the mango tea, but it was quite bland, although I appreciated that there was a wide variety of teas available. • The plates were very small — more like saucers — which made eating a bit awkward. I asked for a larger plate, and this was accommodated, but it would be helpful if larger plates were provided as standard. • There was no offer of juice or hot chocolate for younger guests, which would be a good alternative since tea isn’t really suitable for children. • The service was good, but it could have been a little more attentive at times. Overall, it was a good experience and the Chef surprised at the end was thoughtful touch -I would be happy to return.

We stayed at the Abode Canterbury for two nights & had dinner here on the first night. The waitress was very helpful & explained the food options. We chose the tapas & had three tapas each with bread to share. All the food was excellent & plentiful

I had booked an afternoon tea with one vegetarian. We were then told we could only have 2 vegetarian as they are done in 2s. Then the vegetarian option came out as a single and they bought out gluten free with fish. We had to send that back twice to get the normal vegetarian version. The food was lovely and the service did improve. The teas were very tasty too.
