My husband and I and my parents treated our college freshman daughter and her 9 new friends to dinner. The staff was super and the food was delicious. We all had a great time and we will be back.
All around great place, food was fantastic and so was the service. The pasta dish could’ve been slightly bigger. Overall 5 stars
Branca was a great place to celebrate our anniversary with friends. Our server was great and food was fantastic! Loved being downtown!!
Tried the pepperoni and honey pizza and it was amazing. One of the best pizzas I have ever had! Great food, service and atmosphere! Love Branca
Music was a bit loud for conversation. Requested several time to have it turned down, but someone always turned it back up!!! Food was excellent and server attentiveness was almost perfect, not too much attention
Went out to dinner for our 17th wedding anniversary and being parents of 3 kids that don't get out much I must say it was a great dinning experience. The only thing that I would say was a negative is that they ran out of the special for the night. Our food was very good.
I liked the setting - overlooking Parcel 5 (too bad they have to build something there.) straight through to the lit Liberty Pole. The tables were not close to each other and the candles gavem what I thought would be, a quiet ambiance. Then the noise took over, as the acoustics were terrible, because the ceiling is too high, and there is no fabric to absorb sound. I struggled to hear my three friends, and if there were more of us, it would have been impossible. This is a problem that can be fixed, as well as the price of a small glass of wine - $12.00. Warm bread put on the table is always impressive, but was no where to be found here. The pasta didn't come with anything - roll, salad etc.
Love Branca Midtown. Went there to celebrate my birthday and had my 2 month old baby with us. They set up a table in the private dining room to give us a little quieter spot to be!
Given the price point of the food it was not value for money. For all the hype it was substantially a glorified pizza parlor. Thus the acceptance of flannel shirts, jeans, etc. I expected business casual. The descriptors of the diner menu items seemed novel and creative. However, I had the veal and another person had the mushroom Milanese. I could do better in my own kitchen. Certainly not close to Spiaggia in Chicago except for Branca's price points.
I guess when there is no real competition anything will seem exciting.
My wife and I like this place for special occasions. This was not our first visit, and it's unlikely to be our last.
The food and service have been unfailingly excellent.
Food was fantastic!
Wine choices incredible
I need gluten free choices and the wait staff were knowledgeable about celiac .
We would definitely return!
Excellent experience! Our servers were wonderful and the food was fantastic!
Our experience was somewhat upsetting when our reservation was screwed up. Originally made through Open Table for 3 persons. Relatives showed up and we changed reservation number from 3 to 6 persons ( on Saturday morning) via phone as we did not known whether there would be an update from OT that late in the Day. When we arrived there was no record of the extra persons so we were seated in an outside table. Waitress on duty was overworked and servcice was not what we expect from Branca.
A great location for a meal before a downtown event. The ambiance is very nice. Food is delicious and service near perfect. It is expensive but worth it. Business casual attire. You can easily have a conversation over dinner without shouting.
Great food! Great staff!
One of our favorite restaurants in Rochester! EXCELLENT food in a gorgeous setting! *Superior* service! And right in the heart of it all in revitalizing downtown!
Great food, really enjoyed the whole experience and looking forward to our next visit!
Service was spotty. Took a while after being seated to be noticed. Then drink orders took longer than seemed appropriate. But sever was super knowledgeable and outgoing. It’s good food and fun atmosphere.
It was our first time at the midtown location and surprisingly it was a very pleasant evening. The noise level was tolerable and our waitress was great and the food was amazing and so was our drinks! Definitely a place to go for date night, not so great for kids I would say for sure (have 2).
I’ve had a few experiences here and every occasion has been phenomenal! Service is excellent attentive and welcoming. I enjoyed the tuna tartare (sushi lover) and pasta, also the by the sea cocktail was full of flavor with the right amount of kick. Perfect place for a night out with loved ones on any occasion.
Easily our favorite restaurant in Rochester! Always have such a good meal here. I’m literally addicted to the pepperoni and honey pizza!
Very nice Italian spot with above average cocktails and great service.
I don’t even know how to describe the food in a way that would do it a justice! Each bite got better and better, and it was worth every dollar!
The mushroom pasta was delicious!! BUT we did not appreciate asking the waiter for the specials and he said they had none left but when people sat down next to us 5 minutes later, their server said they did have specials - something about trout. Also, we used a $50 Visa gift card towards the bill - you charged us $5 to use it!!!!
Great atmosphere and amazing service! Made my birthday very special.
Great food. It was a bit disappointing not to find french fries and burger on the dinner menu
As always, the food, service, and atmosphere were A1.
A bit pricey for Rochester but food was great. Great spot for outside eating
We told them it was our anniversary. Our table was set with flowers and they gave us a complimentary half glass of champagne to toast. The food, drinks and service were excellent! We highly recommend!!
It's fun to dine in the "new" improved downtown Rochester, and Branca is an especially good place to enjoy the new urban atmosphere. The food is great. Staff is attentive and friendly. On a recent Friday evening the noise was deafening. It's hard to enjoy the fine cuisine with everyone yelling at the top of their lungs. A lot of this is behavioral -- people feel less restrained by social conventions than the used to, so shouting your head off to reach the person at the end of a large table of guests is now OK. However, surely Branca could do "something" with their decor and fixtures to soften the reverberation. I wish they would. I suppose some people don't mind mind-numbing noise, but for me in particular it is problematic. Otherwise, this place is great. At lunch the noise is not a problem.
Should expand menu a bit to include other sides, FF, grilled veggies, etc.
The food would have been great but it was so salty it couldn’t be eaten
Food was good; a little pricey. Service was very good! We ate outside apparently their location could use some type of barrier, as the wind is a constant problem. Staff was very accommodating to make it as nice as possible outside. Would go back & likely dine inside.
Our last dinner at Branca Midtown was a little letdown. On the positive notes, the food and the cocktails were consistently good, even though one of my favorites (the Milanese veal cutlet) was not on the menu. The service was also professional and friendly. On the negative side, the prices of the drinks have gone up considerably since our last visit, especially the wine bottles, with markups between 3x and 4x over retail prices. The noise level is always very energetic, but this has always been the case. However, parking is now considerably more difficult, possibly because of the new residential units in the downtown area.
Everything was delicious. Good wine list. Our server was superb, patient with all our questions and requests.
Excellent, attentive service. Wedge salad was delicious and different than a typical wedge. Mushroom pizza was great with a thin crust. We also enjoyed their house made ricotta as an appetizer. It's a little pricey but we really enjoyed our dining experience.
Good food, service. Price reasonable. Sat outside. Needed more umbrellas, otherwise great.
have been there often, just a bit loud this time. Would definitely recommend and visit again
All was great!
