This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed - The concept behind Bouche on Bridge restaurant and bar was born from a desire to create an approachable fine dining experience, along with impeccable service and zero pretentiousness.
The venue offers beautifully refined service and fine dining fare in a slightly more relaxed environment - it’s somewhere where you can go for lunch, dinner or a casual drink - not just a special occasion. Bouche on Bridge - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant closed on 28 October. We had a confirmed booking for 2 November. Confirmations of our booking by both email and text were received after 28 October. We turned up only to face a locked door and a 'closed' notice. We then had to find an alternative venue for a pre-theatre meal. The least the owners and the great (NOT) OpenTable booking service could have done was let us know before 5 30 pm on 2 November that the restaurant had closed!
I booked this restaurant for my birthday. What a mistake that was. It was impossible to order drinks! Issue 1 when we did finally order they took forever to come. Issue 2 When we were given the menu we were told half of was sold out. Issue 3 poor waiter Ronni was rushed off he’s feet as there were hardly any staff. Issue 4 we had to give our orders and wait to see if the chef had what we ordered. Issue 5 my husband loves steak but he’s was awful. When I asked other guests about their meal everyone agreed the lamb and trout were cooked to perfection but very small portions nobody liked the steak. There wasn’t any point bringing back the steak as my husband doesn’t eat trout or lamb. The only other options.
We won’t be back as they have no understanding on how to caterer for large groups
Took my girlfriend to this restaurant after watching First Dates for a bit of fun. Wasn't expecting much but didn't expect our experience to totally suck.
It was a surprise to get there on a Thursday night to see it pretty much empty. They were understaffed with only one waitress and the manager tending to orders and drinks. There was no bartender so we couldn't have any of the signature cocktails. The manager who I must say was polite and as accommodating as possible under the circumstances, was tending to drinks orders which were limited to wine and basic drink orders.
Whilst I say they were understaffed I don't think the number of diners called for more wait staff.
The meals were ok but I think overpriced but expected given the location and profile. However basic table service such as offering cracked pepper and salt was non existent and getting the wait staff's attention to obtain such condiments was a real task.
Overall it was a very disappointing experience and whilst we made our own fun and I enjoyed my girlfriends company (as always) it was a crap dining experience and not worth the $150 I spent. Bearing in mind getting into the city and parking is a real effort nowadays and all you want is to enjoy yourself and you couldn't even manage that.
An enormous let down.
We stayed in sydney for my partners birthday and came to bouche after we saw the skirt steak of first dates. I had the locals lunch and they were happy to make changes to accomadate my diet (vegetarian) and my partner and i loved each of our meals especially dessert. The staff were delightful and vibrant
This was a wonderful experience all round and i have already recommended it to my friends and family
Excellent food and service. Portions were a little small for the price you pay but absolutely make up for it in flavour! Beverage selection was extensive and knowledgable staff were there to offer guidance. The restaurant didn't fill to capacity and the ambience lent itself to more of a intimate date night venue but I will back none the less!
We were booked in for the bar menu but changed our minds when we arrived as the restaurant looked so inviting. We shared entrees, each had a main, and then shared desserts. The food was so flavoursome - unexpectedly so. We asked the sommelier to match wine to our food which he was happy to do but gave us a taster to ensure it was to our palate. The service excellent which capped off a very enjoyable evening. Would highly recommend Bouche on Bridge.
Easily my favourite go-to place for quality and responsibly Australian sourced food, service is always of top class consistency (for the last 5 times I've been) and the execution in which everything is plated and cooked is always 5 stars. It doesn't cost a bomb either. I love it.
A repeat visit after a memorable first visit. We took guests, including overseas visitors, and were most proud to share with them this gem of inner city dining at it best. Food great - looks good, tastes good, doesn't cost the earth. Wine list impressive, service attentive - it's all pretty darn good! And did I mention the great bar tucked away downstairs? Highly recommended.
Enjoyed our meal at Bouche on Bridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the sommelier very knowledgeable, and the food was outstanding. We had the snapper which was excellent, as was the ocean trout entre. We were especially happy to take advantage of the Vivid special of three courses for $55. The desert of chocolate and caramel sheets with cream was delicious and so innovative. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Sydney.
Everything was really good. We knew about the restaurant because of taste of sydney festival.
I had the pork special, and for sure, I think it could have been juicier. It was good, but not at the quality of the other dishes. It stood apart because it wasn't as good.
Our server was SUPER professional and did a LOT to make the ambiance. I never got her name, but she was probably in her late 30s to early 40s and had her hair in a ponytail. She really represented class, and I appreciated her attitude.
Seriously satisfied. I'll rave about Bouche on Bridge for years to come.
