BORN by Tapavino Ratings and Reviews
I've dined at Born by Tapavino three times over the last year with friends and family. It's a wonderful addition to the dining scene - comfortable seating, excellent value for money, consistent quality and brilliant service. I look forward to many return visits.
We had a lovely evening at Born. Our waiter was helpful in recommending the number of dishes he thought was appropriate and our waitress was helpful in guiding us through the wine list. Overall a pleasant experience. The food was delicious. If only our stomachs were bigger as there were many other dishes we wanted to try!
I was seated in the middle section of the restaurant and the light from sunset bounced off glass or steel of the restaurant structure and came straight into my line of sight. For 10 mins, I sat there not able to see my friend or the food due to the glare. I told the restaurant wait staff but he said there was nothing he could do about it. How about moving us to another table ? I don't believe I am the first to report this so the restaurant should avoid seating their guests at such tables or seat them elsewhere should it be reported. Otherwise, the service was friendly and prompt.
We were greeted by friendly and attentive staff. Our waiter had extensive knowledge of their menu and we ordered everything he recommended and it did not disappoint. Food portions are a good sharing size. Food not only looked amazing but tasted even better. Compliments to the chefs. Will definately be going back.
PS: Must have the patè!
Food was delicious but would not go back because:
1. the desire to take away plates that still had food on them was annoying
2. The look of contempt on the face of the young waitress when we indicated we were ready to order was priceless.
3. Adding a credit card surcharge when we asked for the bill when we didn't indicate whether we were paying by credit card and then keeping the change
4. We booked table for 7pm, and were told at 8pm we had to leave at 815 as they needed the table. We were not informed that at booking.
Irrespective of whether we were locals or tourists, the above really let down what could have been a good night. We were prepared to stay and have dessert and more wine but their loss.
I loved the relaxed and chill vibe of the restaurat and bar. Was a great experience with amazing food and excellent staff. Food was bery flavoursome and some of the best food i have ever consumed. Staff were very friendly and had exceptional knowledge of everything we asked. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends, till next time
Our waiter was excellent - he ordered for us and his recommendations were excellent. The wine 'guide' was a bit OTT but might appeal to some. We were seated outside on a quiet Sunday evening so it lacked atmosphere but the food certainly made up for that. Every dish was fabulous, and delivered quickly. Overall a great experience!
We flew in from Melbourne for the day to celebrate my husband's birthday & sisters 50th. We had a deliciously leisurely 3 hour lunch grazing our way through beautifully created tapas share plates, great Spanish wines, superb service & lovely atmosphere. The beef cheeks & king prawns were amazing.
We had an axcellent time at Born by Tapavino. On a Friday night the atmosphere was very lively and fun. The food was delicious, the staff mostly excellent. The staff uniforms are a little strange, with yellow- and red-striped ties tucked into black shirts. Overall, the experience was excellent and I would go back.
Even though the food was delicious and the ambiance great our female waitress was rude and impolite. Every time I would ask her a question she would roll her eyes and speak under her breath!
I don’t drink alcohol and asked if they had a Virgin cocktail list and she rolled her eyes and said no but the Barman can make up anything
I asked her to find out what fruit juices he uses she once again rolled her eyes and gave me a fake smile! I tried to explain that there’s certain juices I can’t have due to dietary reasons and she just looked at me and sighed a sigh of frustration!
In the end I picked an alcoholic one and said tell him to make me this minus the alcohol.
I wish I took her name. She has blonde hair and is skinny!
Loved tapavino, the food and wine was divine! Great ambience and formal and casual at the same time. Only issue we had was with two dishes not coming out, however we were actually pretty full anyway. And the semi soft rind cheese was really a bit too full on for us. Aside from this, a wonderful night.
My wife and I had a trip to Sydney and were keen to experience Barangaroo dining. Location was excellent and the restaurant easy to find.
Our waitress was very helpful recommending suitable dishes and the drink waiter also gave us thoughtful advice in relation to the extensive drinks list.
Overall a very enjoyable meal and look forward to a return visit.
My friend and I went for lunch on Sunday. Staff were friendly, helpful and lovely.
Food was good value for money. Size of the portions are not what you expect for a Tapas place. The Jamon Serrano with Burrata was the highlight dish.
Wine was great with the food.
Overall good experience, would recomend this place.
