Amazing food and service!! There’s quite a variety to choose from and it’s something we really enjoy! Great ambience being by the waters as well.

Was our first time at Born. The food was beautiful, the wait staff went out of their way to place a heater next to my wife.

For the price the food was very average. Croquettes were cold, jamon platter that was recommended was way to big for 2 people and meant we were overfill. Potato in octopus wasn’t cooked. Chorizo slider was cold and bread was stale.

These guys do it really well. The food and service are excellent. Everyone seems switched on from the moment you walk in - which looks easy when it’s done well - but too many places prove otherwise. I felt the pulpo (Galician octopus) - which was superb- was overpriced and undersized. At $28 I was expecting a main size dish to share but it’s only really a small starter. In Spain that serving at that price would be looked on with disdain. But it’s a small irritation in an otherwise great experience.

We just love Born at Tapavino. Our starters were the jamon croquettes, jamon topped with manchego and spicey eggplant along with negronis and sangria. All delicious and very flavoursome. Our mains were the octopus and chicken with almonds. So tasty. The service and food was top quality. We love returning to this wonderful restaurant for the ambience and whole dining experience.

Was serviced by 2 staff members. The islander/kiwi staff member gave excellent service.

The French/spanish staff member annoyed me with his lecture on how the drinks menu works, yes your wine menu is excessive but not complicated to understand.
If I order a drink, please don't question me 20 times if I'm sure and then explain the menu again and suggest something else, I came to taste something new, not to have my curiosity questioned.
Please advise your staff to not be overly inquisitive and annoyingly aggressive because it ruins the experience.

The islander kiwi staff however, suggested I have 1 glass first, and if I enjoy it he's more than happy to serve me the whole bottle. Now that's proper service without annoying customers.

The setting was lovely and the food was enjoyed however the service put a dampener on the whole evening and was very different to what i have experienced before at BORN. We were constantly being reminded that the kitchen closed early on Sundays and we needed to be offsite by 10pm. We felt rushed and that we were holding up the the waiters finishing time. We were seated at 7.30 which is reasonably early, i don't think it was necessary to be so time conscious as soon as we arrived. Plus when we asked for menu advice it seemed far to much hard work. Quite disappointing, i would recommend to a friend based on previous experiences, not this one.

Hi Zoe, All the venues along Barangaroo have strict times because of the residents above us. You might have or not have noticed every venue at 10pm would have been empty. The same during the week, however, 11pm is the curfew. We only do this is make sure guests are aware of the rules we operate under, instead of being told at 10pm without notice that you have to leave. I hope this reply clarifies the reasons. Our waiter was so helpful with food and wine recommendations. Best service we’ve had in a while! The food was outstanding! Compliments to the Chef! And a wonderful location. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it. Do yourself a favor !!

We ordered the Set Menu, and even if we didn't know what tapas the menu would include, all the food was amazing and we enjoyed.
The only suggestion would be to have a sangria Jug available for the set menu.

Always enjoy this venue. Always made to feel welcomed and comfortable, and never neglected.
The food was great, though the chorizo slider was on a bun that was a bit too big, but it was tasty. Loved the duck pate and mussels.
Sommelier service was outstanding and we were delighted with the choices made for us.

I took my bestfriend to born Tapenvino for her Birthday. The service was terrible. We found a hair in the salad. We politely told the waitress who took the salad away. The waitress then came back and said abruptly to my blonde mother that no one in the kitchen has blonde hair. The salad was no where near my mum. It felt like we were being blamed. The hair was wrapped around the salad so there was no way one of us could have done that. After we paid we realised that they had then added two dishes from the table next to us onto our bill. It was refunded but there was no apology made for either situation. From a customer service standpoint it was not dealt with properly.

One of the most enjoyable tapas meals I've had! Great selection of dishes, really tasty and great advice from staff re number of dishes, etc. The wine waiter was amazing with his knowledge of the wine menu and how they might compare to a local style wine - all of the wines we had were lovely!

Even though I had booked, we were seated in the passage way which was a little disappointing. Food was excellent - I could have eaten the cabbage salad all day. That said, the quantities were a little all over the place. The eggplant tapas for one was actually more than enough for two and the kingfish main course was pretty small, for the price. Service was excellent - the waitress noticed that we had been given still instead of the sparkling water we ordered and replaced it really quickly with no hassle. I will definitely dine again but ask particularly for a different table.

Excellent food and variety. But felt we were persuaded to order too much.
Recommend to order as you go. Otherwise excellent spanish food with lots of seafood and vegetarian options.

Every.single.dish was incredible!
This is my third visit and each and every dish blows my mind.

I think your set menus are really good value.
Looking at the particular dishes we order and the size of them, this meal felt a tad expensive.... but I’ll be back none-the-less.

Excellent service dealing with my extreme allergy and also dealing really well with an issue about a wine. Very professional and hospitable! Oh and food to die for!
