Boqueria - Penn Quarter
Pina and the rest of the staff were amazing, and made our girls’ catch-up brunch a total success.
Really enjoyed the bottomless brunch.
Great food, great drinks!
They give you free desert if it’s a birthday. Wonderful!
We enjoyed a tasty meal before a Wizards game: service was solid, cocktails interesting, food was tasty - particularly the eggplant and croquettes. My only concern is the price - fairly expensive even despite the pleasant ambiance and good food.
The food is tapa sized so the dishes are not very big but most are pretty tasty. The wine (Rioja) is wonderful. The restaurant is a little noisy but quite lively. It is good for group gathering.
Our seven person department visited Boqueria for lunch. The food was wonderful! The menu is fresh and thoughtful. Portions are large for tapas. However, Boqueria's best asset is their waitstaff. Our waiter was helpful with our food and beverage selections and, most important, he asked about and was consistently cognizant of food allergies among our party. Four of the people in our group made immediate plans with their significant others to come back for a date night. All seven of us greatly enjoyed every aspect of their meal from appetizers to dessert. Word of warning--if you order the amazing Turrón for dessert, be prepared to share. It's a delicious almond & hazelnut cake, with honey dulce de leche ice cream and chantilly cream. The croquetas cremosas were also a table favorite.
I was expecting a better experience since Boqueria was 4.5 stars on yelp. I thought the food was just ok. Some of the menu options were good like to patatas bravas, but we had to ask for refills and the food flow wasnt the best. I wouldnt recommend it, but I also wouldnt say it is awful. I give it 3 stars.
Great place for brunch before a 12:30 caps game! Awesome food and service. Would have spent as much in Capital One for bad beer and food...instead this was incredible. Would love to go again.
Overall everything was great and we enjoyed our meal! The only part we found a bit odd was that after the server had asked if there were any allergies and we shared that yes, we had a tree nut allergy.
We were essentially told that there was nothing they could do or would be willing to do to limit cross contamination. Originally It felt like they were concerned about allergies to protect the patron, but then when an allergy is actually present that changed and it felt like they were just trying to protect themselves.
The server wasn’t very direct with what our options were and it felt like she was trying to get us to leave.
Ultimately we stayed and enjoyed our meal with no issue, but found the interaction odd. I understand the establishment wants to protect themselves, but I was surprised at their inability to accommodate an allergy that’s fairly common. Perhaps this isn’t a great place for people with allergies.
The paella is very good and the roasted chicken was excellent. Everything we ordered were good (pulpo, calamari, mushrooms, noodle paella) including the desserts. The service was also attentive.
Went for brunch. Food was very good.
I usually really enjoy Bouqueria but their NYE 2020 dinner was not that great. The Paella was undercooked and crunchy, the bread was stale like it was toasted and left out all day, and the Gambas al Ajillo was so bad that none of us touched it. The croquettes were good. For the price of $95/person, we expected the food to be much better than it was. The timing of the service can also be improved so that not everything is brought to the table all at once. I would still frequent this venue on a regular day but their NYE dinner disappointed me and my guests.
Great New Year’s Eve value and experience! Service with Pina was fantastic. She was so attentive and friendly and kept our glasses full! Drinks were flowing! Lots of food choices just will come back to try more when not a fixed menu for NYE!
Boquerias was a huge disappointment. The Spanish tortilla I ordered was so bland and tasteless that it looked almost embarrassed under the pile of Olive Garden-like side salad it came with. The crema Catalana was on the acceptable side but Don’t waste your time/money here. If tapas is what you want, head over to Barcelona: truly authentic and far superior cuisine. I honestly don’t know what this was...
Wonderful! We had the Chef’s Choice. So so good!
This was my husband's and I first time. We love tapas and this place didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is wonderful and so is the food! My favorite was the lamb meatballs with goat cheese, marinara, and basil. My husband really enjoyed the crispy sweet potatoes. Our only [small] complaint was our server, although she recommended her favorites on the menu, that was really the only attention we felt we got from her throughout the night.
A wonderful restaurant with delicious food. There were 5 of us and we decided not to do the tasting menu. We tried soo many small dishes and it was less than if we had done the tasting. Of course one of my favorite ways to eat is small plates. The red wine sangria was out of this world. (We had 2 pitchers!) . WE will definitely go back and recommend this restaurant!!
Delicious! Enjoyed every dish we ordered.
great food for many diet restrictions. inventive drink menu
Outstanding tapas that really do taste like a bite of Spain. Service was friendly and efficient. We had the more expensive of the two prix fixe options, and they happily accommodated my somewhat weird dietary restrictions. Every dish was excellent. I found the pricing somewhat high and the noise level a bit high (but my hearing isn't great and my dinner partner mumbles), but overall I was very pleased and I will certainly be going back.
The foods are pretty good. Service was good as well. Feel like we are back in Barcelona again
Capitals game. Great service. Loved the ambiance!
Had a great time at bottomless brunch
Went for a colleague’s birthday lunch and loved it!!
Has heard the comparison to Jaleo so wasn’t sure what to expect. The bread with tomato and pitcher of sangria to start were both good. Moved in to an array of vegetarian small plates. The spinach app and potatoes were definitely order again. Cauliflower was good but nothing really special. All told a good dining experience. The decibel count though was extremely high. Personally Jaleo would be my preference but if someone suggested going here I would agree as long as hearing isn’t a problem.
Food was delicious and the service was excellent.
The food and ambiance were equally amazing! I would definitely dine here again.
The food was delicious! The mushrooms were a stand out, and the dulce de leche churros were wow. Service was great. We were able to sit in a sort of communal table, but still a pretty private space. My friends and I could actually hear each other. Would definitely come back!
The service was outstanding. They seated us right away and provided us a table that was comfortable. The food was great some dishes were better than others but we had a great time. We enjoyed it so much that we agreed to go again.
Our waiter came to the table once and never saw him again. I can’t even tell you his name. The atmosphere was great and it was a beautiful restaurant but the experience was awful. I was so excited to get there and I planned on my meal the night before just to be disappointed. I ordered the paella and it was very dry and very salty.
Not worth the money compared to other bottomless brunch places I've been to. All of the food was really greasy and nothing was particularly good. Everything was just average.
Would eat here again! Everything was fabulous!
Wonderful. One of my favorite places in DC.
Boqueria must have taken to heart reviewers' comments on the noise level. We had a delicious lunch and could actually enjoy our conversation. The server was friendly and attentive
Carlos was an excellent waiter and all the staff was pleasant. The wine selection was especially good, with a wide variety of Spanish wines from all over the peninsula. The menu offered an excellent variety of foods, with both some classic as well as some unusual tapas.
GREAT FOOD! AND NOW OPEN TABLES TELLS ME I NEED 50 CHARACTERS TO TEL YOU THAT - SO.
Amazing food, my go to place in NY and DC. Always take friends and family when they come visit and it never disappoints.
Great food and service!
