Boiler House Restaurant at The Hydro Majestic Blue Mountains
Great ambience. Food overpriced. Staff very busy - run off their feet.
Really happy with service, I arrived before they owning to drop off a surprise cake and flowers for my wife’s birthday, thanks for decorating and preparing the cake. The surprise was a success and a big hit.
Thanks again for all your help.
It was very enjoyable taking my sister for her birthday ..good food and service wonderful atmosphere.Hope to visit again soon.Gordon
The experience did not live up to the expectation. My caprese salad was beautiful but as an entree it was so huge it could have fed four people! My main of open ravioli was a major let down in flavour, did not look very appetising and again it was massive! Two dishes for $54 is expensive when you cant eat the meal and feel you have lost value for money and don't walk out saying'That was a great meal!' Observing other tables we were not the only ones to leave food. I'd rather pay a bit less, receive less and not have the wastage. I guess the hard metal seats stop customers from enjoying a long lunch? People who choose these chairs don't consider all ages and sizes. Overall, disappointed which was a disappointment considering the link with the Hydro Majestic and we were looking for a special lunch ;-/
Poor and disappointing for such a prestigious place.
No correct social distancing going on. Place was well overcrowded and not following guidelines as every table in there was full.
Floor was not cleaned in ages there were bits all over the place.
What eases cleaning of table with no disinfectant spray.....
food for two of the four meals was very average for. $30 meal. Chicken dry....
Was my girlfriends birthday and they disappointed to do much out of the norm or adjust when no one wanted dessert....
Overall not a great experience given the times we are in.....!!!
Would not be surprised if this is the next outbreak cluster soon enough if this behaviour continues....
Absolutely delicious meal bursting with flavour and texture .... social distancing was adhered to and did not impact the wonderful view !
A bit overpriced for a fairly ordinary pizza. Beef cheeks were nice tasty.
Limoncello dessert was beautifully presented but lacked flavour.
Booked online for lunch and requested a table close to window if possible. We got the best seat in the house👌 Seafood hotpot 5/5, open ravioli was great but could have been hotter. Everything else beautiful and will be back.
Very nice atmosphere. Good portions size. We took seafood bowl and did not find it too tasty at all. Roasted potatoes were really nice and so was the rocket salad. Would still go back as the atmosphere was very nice.
Lots of small kids running around, very noisey food was average at best the beef cheeks had no flavour, like it was cook slow in water. It was our 35th wedding anniversary lunch.
I do feel social distancing with table placement was considered.
The staff were so friendly, and the food was excellent!
Excellent food and service but was dismayed to see that appropriate social distancing was not observed. There appeared to be too many tables and patrons gathered in a small space which I felt did not conform to COVID-19 guidelines.
Great food. Service was professional. Prices have risen since I last visited. I hope they don’t rise any higher.
A lovely spot for a lunch with equally lovely views.
It was a quiet space which we appreciated as my father has hearing aids and finds it difficult to hear in noisy restaurants.
Food was delicious! Big meals so bring your appetite!
Beautiful meals and service. Stunning location....
Everything was perfect.. gorgeous view and amazing food!
Been looking forward to coming back here for while, brought my husband who has not been before. We were seated by a very nice person who took our drinks order. Couple of minutes later a man in a suit appeared in front of us and just said “Ready” no hello no smile. This seems rude to us and not how you should address someone, let alone your customers and it’s very off putting.
Someone else took our food order and was really pleasant, food was really good I just wish the menu online had matched the menu I’d been given and I could of had more choice.
I love the location of the restaurant and the food was really nice!
One of the best lunches ever! Had a corner table with fabulous view of the mountains. My group really enjoyed our sumptuous meals with very generous servings. Even the red wine was top quality - good value for money. Thank you to the very friendly staff as well!
Hot pot was nice. Desserts we're average for the price
Lovely ambience, beautiful view and delicious seafood hotpot.
My wife liked the place, but having to us a walking frame could not move around without asking people to move,as was packed
Great food! Beautiful views! Good service
It was a good experience, food was really delicious. I will definitely recommend others to try and enjoy.
We had a lovely lunch but the restaurant was crowded and did not seem to be taking appropriate social distance guidelines to provide sufficient space between groups
We were serviced by very polite staffs.
Unfortunately the food were just like fast food and disappointing.
Absolutely fantastic lunch, beautiful food, good sized, quick but not rushed service. Amazing view. Will be back.
Prompt service and delicious food.
Great staff who made you feel comfortable and welcome
The best view in the mountains. Great food (the cured meat board was a standout as was the beef cheek) and service to match. Very accessible and casual yet stylish with a sense of industrial chic to boot.
Customer service was great, staff were attentive, kind and responsive. The food was fine, we ate our meals and it was satisfactory, however the cost did not align with the food (taste, quality) served.
Beautiful views with good quality food. Interesting options on the menu that will suit most diners
very friendly staff
Attended the venue to celebrate an anniversary. Food was very nice, generous serving size.
Given the occasion and having asked for a window seat it was disappointing to have a vacant seat at the window near us and that we weren't moved there even after asking twice on the day and in the lead up.
Nice ambience however may be loud for some.
Either way would go back when in the area.
Excellent lunch menu, simple elegant but diverse enough. Responsive and friendly service. A great location to be fully enjoyed
Servings were very generous and the food was perfect. However an unseasonably cold day, it was also a little cold for comfort inside.
I’ve been to the boiler house previously when they had simple Battered fish and chips on the menu. It was a bit more up style than a pub, but still resembled some pub foods.
We went there on the weekend, the entrees were great - massive servings.
I got the pork cutlet, it was so dry the knife I had could barely cut through it.
My husband had beef cheek, which was so juicy, but the gravy covering was just too much.
Service was great, location is great.
Price has gone up too. Lunchs are around $35.
I have no problem spending money on good food, we went to the Hydro that night and spent about $500. But honestly I would never go back to the boiler house because of that experience, and I would encourage others not too as well - at least until they get some good basics back on the menu, and do them well.
Excellent service, outstanding view and terrific wine and great food!
My husband and I took his Sister to lunch for her 70th Birthday! It was a Saturday! The weather was perfect for our seat at the window (which was asked for at the time of booking) the food was delicious. We chose the package of meal and dessert ! Our compliments go to the chef!
Was a very hot day - no air conditioning instead doors open, windy and noisy fans blowing on us. Left sweaty.
Food and service were very average.
Overall an underwhelming experience for such a beautiful location.
