Blue Fin - New York
Great spot to hit before a show. Highly recommend this TSQ staple!
Food is superb! Beautiful atmosphere. Convenient to shows!
It was my birthday dinner with my daughter. She chose the Blue Fin and I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed it! Maggie our waitress was exceptional! Anthony who greeted us was very friendly!
The Bartendar (didn’t catch his name) was unimpressive. I was happy we sat. His cosmos are not his strong point. He wasn’t very friendly or helpful.
The food was delicious! We had several appetizers, oysters, edamame and California rolls. For our entrees we had the scallops with short rib dumplings (amazing) and the Halibut with lobster gnocchi with rock shrimp, corn and cauliflower so yummy! The homemade ice-cream and chocolate molten cake was mouthwatering!
I recommend this restaurant! Did I mention we were going to the theater and got there at 5 and were out by 6:30 never feeling rushed!
We had not been to Blue Fin in years but were going to a show nearby and decided to dine there. We weren't really expecting much, as in the past we had been unimpressed and found it pricey. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that the menu was interesting, the food was very fresh, well prepared and nicely presented. We sat at a comfortable round table. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. I will not hesitate to go back.
I have been eating here for years. Use to be my favorite theater restaurant. It has gradually decline in food and the place is getting sad looking
food was great, priced right a very upbeat vibe and the staff was very professional
Jason our server made our experience fantastic. We had a great brunch!
We ordered appetizers, drinks and entrée and everything was tasty and delicious! Planning on revisiting!
We only had appetizers which were pretty good. Drinks were good.
Waitstaff wasn’t very attentive. Never asked if we wanted a 2nd drink.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Food was sub par.
Restaurant needs a renovation.
Bathrooms are atrocious, no hooks on doors and sinks without faucets!!!! Not what I expected for the cost.
Good for meal before or after a Broadway show. Not a tourist trap
Outstanding restaurant, consistently great!
Our server was fabulous! Made it an even better experience.
Nice menu. Monday night not crowded or noisy. Would recommend and return
I used to always recommend Blue Fin to people visiting from out of town, but this time it was just ok.
The food was fine... we got 2 sushi rolls, and 2 other appetizers to share. Maybe the entrees would've been better but I just expected A LOT better food for the price.
Also, we had a reservation at 6:30pm and tons of people were also waiting for their tables at 6pm or 630pm and were getting extremely frustrated because of course everyone was heading to a show.
Usually solid place for dinner before a show. Waited 15 minutes to be seated. Seemed like first night for hostess who was having user issues with computer. Once seated waited 15 minutes for order to be taken and entree did not come out for 45 minutes. Table next to us the couple had to leave before being served their dinner because it too so long. Not sure if this was a off night or the new norm.
Food and drinks were amazing! Tuna was perfect and the rolls we had we terrific!
We had a delicious meal in this bustling Times Square restaurant, but I particularly want to call out great service. I realized after arrival that our must-be-printed theater tickets were back at our hotel, far enough away that going back for them would interfere with dinner. The manager on duty tried several times to reprint the tickets, and when that didn’t work, introduced me to the concierge at the host W Hotel until we found a solution, all while allowing me to enjoy my meal. Thanks Caitlin!
We had a good time and the food was very tasty, however we were warned that the entries would take over 30 minutes.
Great restaurant for a theater date. Great service, but a bit cramped on space... Overall, a great experience. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
I have had brunch at Blue Fin many times and am never disappointed. From the original bread board to the excellent main course choices to the complimentary champagne, mimosa, etc. it is a wonderful place to dine for a weekend brunch in the theater district.
Always a great pretheatre lunch
I had a sushi roll that fell apart when I picked it up with chopsticks. Seared tuna was a grayish medium well and I ordered medium rare . The two pieces of butternut squash ravioli were cold on outside and ice cold in the middle. Thai hot pot was good. I expected better
A cute seafood/suishi restaurant near Times Square. Fish is fresh every day. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our waitress recommended excellent wines: the Reisling was exceptional. I had the seared Tuna with butternut squash ravioli and it melted in your mouth.
Beautiful space, excellent service and outstanding food. Meticulous attention to the presentation. The freshest seafood you can imagine.
Chilean Sea Bass and Halibut were cooked perfectly. Sides were unique and flavorable. Brussel sprouts and crispy cauliflower were excellent. Good service and nice Pilsner put it over the top. Highly recommend.
Very disappointed in Blue Fin. Was our go to for before a show. Had a terrible experience. Will not be going back.
Fabulous food, great atmosphere and not too noisy, which was a nice surprise. It was just very busy so our server, who was great, didn’t make it to us often, and I went without a fork for my entree for ages and it took forever to get us our check. Understandable it was busy due to the location near in the theatre district, but a little more attention would have been helpful. Just plan extra time.
I would have preferred a bigger table for two, Especially considering we had a reservation and it look like there was plenty of space. I felt like we had to hunt them down for extra coffee. However the menu was very good and buried with lots of options. And considering I had a Mimosa for brunch I think the price was very good because it was less than $70 before tip.
We were there for brunch, Wonderful staff. Food was good but expensive for the quality. Enjoyed yogurt parfait very much
We used to love this place, but last night was easily the worst experience we’ve ever had.
I’m normally not a harsh reviewer, but we got there an hour and a half before a show we needed to get to, we told the waiter we had to get out, but an hour later, despite several requests to the waiter and host, we still weren’t served our food, but the waiter flippantly said he’d “have the manager look into where our food was.” Yeah, thanks...
Maybe this was a one time major screwup, but this was easily one of my worst experiences ever at any restaurant. We’re not antagonistic complainers, but last night was an absolutely huge turnoff. And the topper? As we’re leaving and I’m talking to the host, he called the manager over - she clearly had no idea of anyone asking her to “look into where our food was.” Hopefully, if that was the case, the waiter is annexed or annexes himself.
The food is delicious. The only down side is the prices.
The food took over an hour to come out. They said it was because the good was cooked, so how does that explain the salad? My cooked food (fish) was cold which they took off the bill and the drinks took about 20 minutes to come out. Two were nonalcoholic. The server was nice, but inattentive. Won’t go back.
Food is excellent but it's a noisy place with average service at best
To keep it simple, it was empty, and I still had to get up and get my own menu. The staff was focused on an upcoming vip event (which was made clear by the only man wearing a suit shouting next to my table the set up) and I had to ask 3 times for my bill. Literally the same person, asked 3 times. He passed us 14 times to service other guests
Overall not worth it. Won’t be dining there again
Nice gluten free toast! Great waiter!
Having to ask for a menu when the one handed to me was missing anything resembling food was not an auspicious start. Even when replaced it was still missing the oyster list. Food was ok but for the price not a good value. Oysters were fresh and presented correctly. The bronzino and sushi rolls were ok not memorable.
We had tickets for a 7 PM Broadway show and we’re meeting a friend to eat dinner prior. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we first arrived. The place got really busy about 6 and our table got far less attention. It took about 40 minutes to get our food and we were rushed to make it to our show.
