Abiding food, amazing service, amazing price.
We had 4 adults and one 9 year old. Everyone thought their food and drinks were great. The service was perfect even though it was a very busy night.
My experience at Bliss was great!
We were really excited to go to Bliss to have a nice dinner as a couple. We were a little misled by the name “Bliss” I guess because When we got there there was a VERY Loud bar crowd and live music that was too much for the space. The restaurant was so loud we could not even have a conversation without screaming at each other. There was also a lot of people moving back-and-forth past our table constantly while we were trying to eat, which was hard to ignore & at some point quite intrusive to our personal space. That was very disappointing. The food was very good and the service was good. But the ambience made it very uncomfortable and difficult to relax. Being that it was our first time there, we are not sure if that is the usual crowd, but if so, we would suggest the easiest solution would be to just re-name the restaurant so newcomers won’t expect a serene and romantic atmosphere —equal to that feeling of “Bliss” .
Always magnificent dining at Bliss! How could it not be!!! Welcomed so warmly by Ron and his always friendly staff, separates Bliss as the ultimate pleasurable experience!
The food and service were perfect! Our only complaint were the gnats/ fruit flies all around us...we counted 7 on the wall behind our table and a few flying around us! Definitely a turnoff. Could be from all the potted plants around the restaurant but not very appealing as you are trying to eat.
Great restaurant. Busy but efficient and great service all around. A bit tight quarters but well managed.
The bacon wrapped figs appetizer is reason enough to come here. ALL of the food was delicious, reasonable and with great atmosphere. Our waitress Jessica was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Nice folks. Very attentive. Very loud.
Love the live music and the staff are so friendly. The owners make you feel like you’re welcome and at home. Great place to be.
Bartender was fantastic and very attentive during a busy and crowded time. Our waitress was nice but she was very busy so the owner and hostess helped out constantly circulating offering more water, drinks and checking on all tables. My skirt steak was ordered medium rare and it came out very rare. The waitress checked on us in a timely manner so I didn't have to wait long to tell her it was too rare. She offered some solutions to the problem and I picked another meal because I was concerned that once it went back it would come back over cooked. My meal arrived and the rest of the party was about finished eating, luckily no one was in a rush so it really didn't matter. My next meal was fantastic. The manager/owner I am not sure, offered to buy us a round of drinks. Which we all thought that was very generous since I was happy with the second meal and it wasn't necessary. It was greatly appreciated that he came over and checked himself to make sure we enjoyed our meal and hoped we would come back again. I can tell you that we all will definitely be back. We had a wonderful experience at Bliss.
I was my birthday, and we were going to a show at the Staller Center at Stony Brook University. This restaurant is 3 minutes away. It has very friendly service, good food & a relaxed comfortable atmosphere.
Service and food was absolutely outstanding. We will most certainly be back.
This place is great. Awesome food, great service and very nice atmosphere.
We love Bliss! The food is always good. Ron, the owner, is always there to greet you and check to be sure you are happy. Jessica was our attentive waitress. The entire decor was recently updated and is very attractive.
As soon as our party of 4 walked in we knew we would not be disappointed!! From the min we walked till the min we left we were treated like we have been going there for years! From the wine to desert everything was great. Ron was a great host and Diana was a friendly server. The table bread warm and toasty and a good home made hummus for the bread. Our guests asked for butter too. We got the short rib tacos and calamari apps. The tacos were so tender and calamari cooked well. Dinner was the home made mushroom ravioli that were so thin, so fresh, and nicely stuffed. A perfect dish. The bacon cheddar burgers cooked as asked, melty cheese and crisp bacon. Xtra bacon on one was a ton of bacon!! Great flavor and yummy bun. The fries were battered, cooked perfect and great flavor. The seafood Padilla all cooked perfect. The rice had a great salty briny flavor over that strong saffron flavor. It was slightly different and well appreciated!!! The desert creamsicle was the best our friends have ever had, the plain bread pudding was flavorful and the whip cream and ice cream just so good. We will be back!
Bliss is consistently wonderful. Food is fantastic, the menu is diverse and enticing. Bliss staff is always great, friendly, and accommodating. The lovely Manhattan style atmosphere is warm and inviting. Owner, Ron is always on site and captions a smooth sailing, handsome ship!
I feel terrible writing this review however my husband and I were so disappointed with everything we ordered. To start we were seated by the bartender in the restaurant area and she was super sweet. The waitress then came over and was far from friendly, I felt like we were bothering her. We ordered drinks and they were made strong and perfect. For appetizers we ordered bang bang shrimp and ‘crispy Brussels sprouts’. The bang bang shrimp was mediocre at best. The fried shrimp was covered in a spicy mayo sauce with some sliced vegetables and it was literally nothing to rave about. I was excited to try the Brussel sprouts until they came out and were undercooked, gross. We shared our entree, thank god, because the seared ‘wasabi’ tuna was dry and tasteless. There was no wasabi and the small portion of soba noodles (which was the garnish) was the best part. When I tell you we were looking up where to order takeout on the way home I’m not exaggerating. I mean no disrespect but my husband and I were beyond disappointed and this was the worst meal out we’ve had in years. The waitress asked if we wanted coffee or dessert and by then it was a hard No! She asked if we were sure and we just asked for the check. Definitely disappointed in spending over $100 just to see where we could grab dinner before getting home to the babysitter.
Food was terrific. Service was good. We waited a long time for the appetizers to come out. People that were seated after us were served an entrée before we received our appetizers. Other than that, a very pleasant atmosphere and experience. We did not order dessert so therefore the birthday was not acknowledged. Generous portions and delicious food. Waitress was very friendly and made sure we always had drinks.
I met a friend for dinner several weeks ago at Bliss. I had a wonderful first visit there, so I decided to bring my husband and cousin there for dinner. The food was once again excellent. I fell in love with the dates wrapped in bacon appetizer. The chopped salad was amazing as was the seafood paella.
We will definitely return to eat hear again.
Deanna was amazing. We’d come back again for the food and Deanna!
really nice time, was later on a Sunday. everything was great!
We had a wonderful evening at Bliss. I say evening because we began with a drink during happy hour, advanced to a delicious dinner accompanied by music, and lingered for quite a bit after we had finished our meal. All four of us raved about the evening. We will definitely be back.
Always good in a pinch-food is good. Just a bit small.
(My wife is writing this review) We had dinner here Friday night. What a great place! EVERYONE was so friendly. The owner came and checked on us. Made sure to give us the Mets score (he noticed my husband was a Mets fan. The waitress was so sweet and the hostess was a doll! We can’t say enough good about it! There was a musician who sang and played guitar. He was so good. He even took requests. The food was great. The bread they give you with hummus for the table was delicious. We had spinach and artichoke dip as a app. My husband had the double thick pork chop that was so good with caramelized apples and I had braised short ribs. Dessert was a mint chip truffle and creme brûlée. They placed a sparkler in it for my husbands birthday. The drinks were also so good! Get the white cosmo!
Nice little place. On first impression it doesn't seem to know its identity. Bar? restaurant? That being said the interior is nice. Showed up at 6:30. not very busy. The Hostess and wait staff did a great job the entire time we were there. We had the bacon wrapped dates and scallops. Both good. Wife had a white Cosmo also good.
memu has something for everyone Burgers and sandwiches to Steak and seabass. Everything we ordered was good and cooked exactly as requested. Shared a few desserts. also good.
The only negative if I'm going to nitpick was, Ordered lava cake waitress came back after 10 minutes to say they were out. Price wise 3 meals 2 apps 2 desserts 2 drinks $150.
On the higher end but not crazy. will be back.
Awesome food and gem of a place!!!
Used to really like this place. But the LOUD live music was unexpected and off-putting. My pork chop was dry and the lava cake had no lava whatsoever -- just plain chocolate cake.
Wait staffwas friendly but too many tables to be attentive - we kept WAITIMG for drinks to arrive.
Maybe they weren't expecting the crowd that was there, but this time, the dining experience fell short.
Awesome place to dine! Everything from the food to the service is Great! Our favorite time to go is Friday’s for happy hour and the live music which starts at 7. The singers rotate but, Freddie Monday is our favorite performer.
Food was great, service was a little slow, but the staff and owners are all wonderful and thoughtful. I brought my 4 yr old with me and they were so excited to have a toddler there. Very welcoming. Awesome live music. Definitely will go back.
Food, service and drinks great-as always!! Had a lovely evening with daughter and friend.
Loved the new upholstery and as always the Hummus was delicious. Steak cooked perfectly and mashed potatoes were also delicious. Went back next day with two more people who also enjoyed their salads and I enjoyed the mussels with the gorgonzola. Steak again cooked and tasted great.
Awesome place with good food and staff. I ate there several nights in a row.
Bliss is a great place to visit, exciting new look and feel!
Another superb return to bliss! Extremely attentive and courteous service; very accommodating of special needs diets and provided us with extraordinary treatment which was much appreciated. We will once again be back!!
Very enjoyable. Good food and great service.
Always enjoy dining at Bliss. It’s nice to have the owner so engaged to ensure the food and service is up to his high standards👍
Great food. Live music was a bit loud.
Excellent place. And awesome dinner and service
Pros: great apple and shaved Brussel sprout salad, good atmosphere
Cons: poor service for what we wanted. For our anniversary we wanted to linger with a nice desert and drinks. It felt like they wanted out us out the door. (At 845 it wasn’t busy nor close to closing time). Server wasn’t knowledgeable about the menu or wine/drink offerings (or wasn’t willing to share)
Overall decent place. Not someplace I’d suggest for a special occasion. This was based on one visit so hopefully we caught them on a bad night. The wine bar down the street was more of what we needed that night.
