Poor food, didn’t serve food as advertised on the menu. Bad value for money
The staff were nice and really knowledgeable about the wines. But I did feel it was a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. The poussin was quite dry, as though it had been sat under a heat lamp for some time, while the chips tasted a bit stale and greasy. Not bad food, but for the price there’s better quality meals out there.
We ate outside which was lovely except for the building work going on next door. As we had a table next to where the work was happening it was so noisy, at times you could not hear each other speaking. It would have been helpful if we had been warned about this before as we would have altered our booking, either to inside or to come another time. Disappointed as the food and service were both very good indeed. We will return once the work has finished!
A lovely early evening meal in the Bistro courtyard. The staff were attentive and friendly, the food and drinks were lovely and the prices were reasonable. Great to be back.
Great service and food as usual - enjoyed sitting outside in the courtyard in the lovely weather
French gem tucked away in the heart of Farringdon. Professional friendly staff, delicious food, great value.
My wife and I enjoyed an outstanding meal at the Bleeding Heart. I haven't eaten there for a few years and was delighted to find that everything was as good a I remembered. A warm welcome from the front of house staff. Attentive but unobtrusive service. A sensible but varied menu and wine list. Superb cooking. Great wine. There is some building work going on next door at the moment (Summer 2021), which was a bit annoying, but not the fault of the restaurant ; this shouldn't affect evening dining, and I guess will be complete by the end of the Summer. Already saving the pennies for our next visit! 5*
The duck dish was the highlight
Lovely restaurant. Quality of the food not great though and certainly not what it was. Needs to improve
Lucky to have good weather for eating outdoors. We love that quiet courtyard. Food delicious, it happened to be Bastille Day so they had a special menu. Very welcoming staff, efficient service. Everything perfect.
First time back here in 2 years (for obvious reasons) and just as consistently good as before. Salmon tartare was just the right level of "piquant" and I should have had something different to the fishcake but they do it so well I succumbed (again!)and as good as ever. Client had the cod/mussels which was also excellent. Service spot on in manner and timing.
Excellent food and venue. Service was exceptionally inconsistent which detracted from the experience.
Amazing food. Everything is delicious. We had the duck and the lobster and was very tasty.
Impeccable service too. And recommend the patio, super cute.
The food and service is consistently good, however the atmosphere is rather spoiled by the building work next door.
Not much the restaurant can do about their noisy neighbours, but the jewel in the crown is being able to sit outside in the courtyard, and it was like sitting next to a major building site. Such a shame!
As always the Bleeding Heart team continue to delver quality food in a great secluded location. The food is top of the bistro league and wouldn't be amiss in their now sadly closed restaurant and service cannot be faulted. Attentive but not intrusive waiting and engaging conversation with customers. The only criticism I would have is the the wine list could be more extensive - again the Bleeding Heart restaurant wine list was superb, they clearly know their stuff, and some of that could come across to the Bistro.
Team night out over wine, steak and cheese. Super service and food / wine was superb.
Great food and service. Compares well with Paris bistros.
I first ate at the Bleeding Heart some 15 years ago. It is always dependable for food in a setting that is warm, calm and civilised. With building work going on next door, worth opting for an indoor table at the moment.
The Bleeding Heart Bistro is as good as ever, the classic menu items are available and the staff are attentive.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Service was pleasant and attentive.
Absolutely love this place and was not disappointed after several months away. Service, ambience, food and wine all superb and delivered with Gallic panache.
Delicious food and wine and great service from the staff - a lovely lunch
This restaurant is in a great location and has a super ambience. The waiters are very polite and attentive without being overbearing. The food was amazing, good portion size, beautifully presented, and they left a reasonable time after our starters to serve the main.
No request is too much trouble. A great dining experience!
Nice little French bistro with comfortable outdoor seating area. Attentive staff and quiet setting.
Not just dining out, but a dining experience
the signature steak for two is fantastic. order this or get food envy.
What is it with your slow and arrogant service? Lunchtimes need to be express. Otherwise wonderful and unchanging.
I can’t remember being treated so well on a restaurant in many years! The sommelier Fabrizio was absolutely amazing! The food was great, the wine pairings were incredible and made the meal even better. Definitely coming back!
My favourite restaurant. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
Brilliant food and excellent service. It was a little warm inside though and it would have been good if the windows were opened to let a breeze through. Otherwise, very good and would definitely go back and recommend!
Great greeter, good attentive waiting staff. The atmosphere was buzzing and it felt good to be out. My starter while a tad bland was fresh and light and seemed like a good start to the meal. My main of cod was grey, cold and over cooked. When I mentioned this to the waiter he said he would let the chef know and I never heard a thing back. It was disappointing and let down what was a much anticipated return to a familiar haunt.
Always reliable with excellent food and service. My first visit since lockdown and it was good to be back
Once again sitting in the Bistro of the Bleeding Heart restaurant group in a tiny courtyard was a perfect setting for a leisurely dinner with friends.
Friendly service, a visit from the patrons and a first class meal topped the whole experience in Hatton Garden.
The food was top class the Sauvignon Blanc wine from the estate of the Patron's Trinity Hill vineyard in new Zealand completed a sublime time eating and drinking in the new found freedom of living again.
We shall return many times to this our favourite restaurant.
Fabulous meal for 50th birthday. Food and wine perfectly matched. Service was attentive.
Great venue and meal. Service we good - not hurried but still efficient
I loved every moment! Just lovely, and can't wait to come again!
The Bleeding Heart never fails to deliver. Simple, unfussy food cooked and delivered to the highest standards. There's a beautiful ambience in the place, and service is outstanding. It may be a little on the pricey side, but when you know you're going to get an experience as good as this, it's worth every penny. Really my favourite place in London for a special dinner.
Food , wine and service excellent and such a relief it still exists after lockdown.
Building work noise from next door is noticeable if you eat outside but atmosphere is so lively it soon doesn’t get your attention.
I have been enjoying the food and ambiance of this little hidden gem for many years and would thoroughly recommend it.
I was disappointed however that they had removed the two or three course fixed price menu on the day that I went, particularly as it was on the web when I booked just prior to going.
Top food and atmosphere, would recommend for any occasion!
