We were looking for a change from our normal rotation of restaurants. My husband is a chef, so there are not many restaurants that pass our “we would go back there” test. This one definitely did. The shrimp/grits as a starter set the tone. Really nice flavor and the quantity was sufficient that you could actually make it a small meal. My husband had the bison meatloaf and I had the Navajo taco(green chili pork). Both had fairly complex, and pleasant, flavor profiles. I lived near the Navajo reservation, so I am always skeptical when I see Navajo tacos on the menu. This one did not disappoint. And everything was good enough that we’re interested in trying other options on the menu. We’ll definitely go back.

This was our first visit to The Black Sheep. It has been on our bucket list for quite awhile now so we were excited to give it a try. We made reservations which we were glad we did. We don’t know that they closed at 3 so we got the very last time slot available. When we arrived we were seated immediately, which was a pleasant surprise as our other two members of the party hadn’t gotten there yet. Our server was quick to bring our drinks and when we were ready to order he again was quick and answered all our questions about the menu. The wait for our food was surprisingly short given it was. Saturday afternoon. Food was amazing. We all loved what we got. Serving sizes were fair for the price. Will visit again.

We love Black Sheep for its menu and delicious food. On a busy Friday night, we brought some friends to Black Sheep and they enjoyed their dishes. Unfortunately, the food was not hot when served - all of us felt it needed to be warmer. The Chimichangas were excellent as were the pork and beef enchiladas; they should have been served to us sooner. Good staff and great location.

Very popular place especially with college age it appeared. Service was polite but spotty. Food preparation was good but the fry bread in my Navajo taco was more like a pizza dough. Beans were excellent. The Filet Minon brochette was lacking in the amount of actual meat. Can’t deny its a popular place with locals so they do something right but I wouldn’t go back.

My husband had the bison burger which was hearty and delicious. He also enjoyed the Brainless Belgian-style Golden Ale. I enjoyed the flavorful pozole and the well-prepared grilled asparagus. We each savored our own light and fluffy fry bread. The chuhuly glass decor was a pleasant surprise. Hannah the waitress was kind and enthusiastic. Definitely five stars!
