We chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Black Hide and so glad we did. We chose the set menu and it didn’t disappoint. They even decorated my dessert with “Happy Anniversary”. It was overall an enjoyable experience- great food, great wine and great service. Highly recommend and will definitely be booking again.
Expensive, but the quality of food and service justifies the price. I enjoyed an Angus 3+ Marble score 500gm OP Rib on the bone which was cooked perfectly. The wait staff were attentive, but not overly so which made for a great atmosphere that my partner and I enjoyed. We will certainly be back.

Our maître d' provided exceptional service, even going as far as to procure more ingredients to make a cocktail I requested. We were also given a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. The food was excellent, as was the service and atmosphere. We come every year for our anniversary and we are never disappointed!

Outstanding service from pleasant staff, had cabernet merlot to pair with our medium wagyu eye fillet and medium well angus ribeye.
The wagyu was the star of the show, seared to perfection with excellent consistency and mouthwatering texture. The ribeye was good but unexceptional. Seasoning was great for both, granting the steaks a savoury and aromatic highlight without obscuring their original flavour.
For sides we had the Paris mashed potatoes, which we found unimpressive. It had an even and refined texture but an overly mild flavour, which made it hard to stomach after a few spoonfuls. Even the bread which was served appeared more enticing, with a soft, warm centre and crusty outer. Paired with the quality butter and vinaigrette provided, it proved to be a classic blend of taste and texture not to be missed.
As for afters, we had their yoghurt panna cotta dessert with a recommendation from our waiter, Craig. By this point we were beginning to feel full, but the light, slightly tangy dessert did well to alleviate this. Taken with the surrounding crumble and mint leaves, it makes for a refreshing mouthful with subtle cruch and texture despite its lightness. A basic combination that works really well. Highly recommended if you're looking for something light that isn't overly sweet

Restaurant is dim, food is tasty, service was okay, can make reservations, some tables are close together and you can hear other conversations.
Service was pretty average. Water glasses not topped up. Had to ask for our wine glasses to be topped up. We weren’t feeling attended to. Food was ok. It has the potential to be much better. We were left disappointed after spending $350 for dinner for two. Not sure we would go back.

Great food, however service was slow, took a while to receive drinks and the bill. We also didn’t get offered the complimentary sauces the other tables did when receiving our meal. However the food tasted amazing.

Wagyu steak was good but all sides were below average , bread , butter and olive oil were all industrial not from local sources. Includes two mini pieces of duck fat potatoes that were not much taste. Service was also very amateur with many misses. Part of a hotel group, please go somewhere and try to support a more local independent owner serving proper quality local food.
This was hands down the best service I have recieved from a restaurant in Brisbane so far, the complete atmoshpere has made this my new favorite restaurant. From the perfectly volumed back ground piano music, that is just loud enough to enjoy but just quite enough to still have a great chat with someone over dinner. The staff were just amazing!!! and of course the reason you go to a restaurant, THE FOOD was phenomenal. I was suggested to try the spare beef ribs as a starter and that was mouth watering and tender! I loved every moment in this place. Thank you team!!!
We had a wonderful lunch. Particularly enjoyed our well cooked, tender steaks and matching sides. Really like the mushy peas! We had wine by the glass - matched the food perfectly. Definitely coming back.
Food was delicious. The restaurant couldn’t find our reservation. Our party of 4 ordered a bottle of wine and only one glasses was filled and the bottle was removed from the table. We had to ask for the wine to be served to others in the party.
