The service was competent in terms of getting us seated, offering drinks and getting/sorting our order into our preferred course. The food was exceptional and was brought out faster than expected as well paced in between each course.
Booking on line had a question of whether it was a anniversary, which it was. However, restaurant did not mention it. Why ask? Secondly, steak was very good but not quiet blue. Also, it came sliced into three pieces which I felt strange as I would expect it to be one piece. Saying this we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would return.
I booked GF and also reminded them when we were seated and yet I still received a normal bread roll and no offer of a GF replacement. The waiter later offered me a replacement fish for the duck I had ordered (which on the menu was GF) which was confusing, intrusive and later came back and corrected herself and reordered duck. I booked online for 6.30 and we’re allocated the 4 seats right next to the desk next to the entry and the main corridor. It was noisy, traffic like a highway and too dark, and yet there were many tables for 4 in the centre unoccupied the whole time we were there (6.30 to 8pm). We were fed up and didn’t order dessert or coffee. Why were we reminded twice that we needed to finish by 8.30? Never again (or never again without a torch). A disappointing birthday dinner.
Also, my son ordered. A T bone steak, and was told there were none left! Really? At 6.30? In a steakhouse?
We booked a table for 9 people to celebrate a friend’s moving interstate. We waited over 90min for our meals. There were several empty tables around and for a Friday night it wasn’t very busy. After the first 60min passed after ordering we politely asked when we would be served. The waitress said it would be another 5min but offered no further explaination as to the delay. The meals were delicious but we were beyond hungry by the time they arrived. Most disappointing was seeing other tables seated, served, and leave before we received any food. When the management was challenged about this as we paid they provided no apology or explaination.
The wait staff were very professional but due to the overall experience we will go elsewhere next time.
We came here for a pre theatre evening meal. The service was slow so no time for a dessert. We ordered both steaks with bearnaise sauce, we got one with a pepper sauce. There was more gristle in the rump than there should have been. This place for us did not live up to its reputation or value for the high prices charged. We shall not return.
Loved our meals at Black Hide Steakhouse, will definitely be returning back soon.
The worst T-bone I’ve ever had!! Too salty and Meat was too strong to cut!! Horrible!!
A great addition to the Treasury - the steak was cooked with respect...the food all round was well seasoned and tasty. Reasonably priced with a comprehensive wine list to suit and capped off with an intimate atmosphere looking out across the Brisbane River to the lights of South Bank and beyond. Will definitely be back.
A great experience, Gambaro's is up there with the very best restaurants we have been to. The food was great and the steaks we had were just superb and cooked to perfection. We will be back.
Service was unbeatable. Most of the steak options were on the expensive side, but nice for a special occasion or once in while visit.
Food was full of flavour, and generous servings. Highly recommended.
The steaks and the side dishes were wonderful. Cooked to perfection, tender and mouth watering.
Went there for black truffle specials they had at the treasury (which was advertised on instagram). Came to a pleasant surprise that they did not serve it there nor had any idea that those items were on the special/menu. Was slightly disappointed BUT we did order the eye fillet with black truffle instead and it was beautiful. Besides that great service as always and amazing steak as always.
The surroundings were nice and the food good. Unfortunately for the price and quality of the restaurant we found the service lacking. We were left waiting for 30 mins for our first drink and had to ask the waiter to chase them up for us. Our bread rolls arrived after we had eaten our entrees which seemed an odd order of meal service. We were also left waiting for a long time to settle our bill and again had to chase up the waiter to make payment. Given the expensive price points we expected more attentive service. I’m not sure we would return in a hurry.
We were taken care of by fantastic staff. The food was certainly worth the money. Had a wonderful time.
really enjoyed our meals , the scallop small plate were outstanding i had the mb5 flank steak was very impressed , would dine again
Stick to the steak. Moreton bay bugs were pretty underwhelming for the price.
Best pork belly ever! Great service .. definitely will be back.
Finally the treasury have an upmarket restaurant again.
The food, service and ambience was excellent. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided on somewhere special. The Black Hide at the Treasury Casino has recently opened so it was an opportunity to try a new experience. We were not disappointed and would thoroughly recommend the restaurant.
Steak undercooked x 2 times we went. Comes with a slice of potato that is it. Have to order sides. Very poor very expensive. Tried it another time same. Beetroot salad had two pieces of beetroot and was with an orange tasted like canned beetroot. Very average very small very overpriced. Will not go back a 3rd time.
Gamboros doing it even better in the middle of the city.
we had a wonderful evening for my husbands birthday meal
we are very critical of our meats, and as my husband in Brazilian he was extra hard to please - but he loved it
Overall good service steaks requested medium rare got medium well, quality of meat made them acceptable to eat, had same steak at Black hide caxton street medium rare and they were top notch
Our waitress was the best, the food was amazing especially the steaks
Food was ok but could of been better
$70 steak was very thin and value wasn’t there
Although tasted good
I expected better
Nearly 150 a head wasn’t there
Food very good but for only those who can afford. Service first class.
Great food. Being new a few hiccups but they handled it very well. The service was great too, friendly.
Awesome food and Service ! We all enjoyed everything we had, steaks are amazing.
The food was exceptional, the service was wonderful and overall a great experience. The only negative that I have to say is when using the booking service I originally wanted to book for 6 people. Nothing was available for the next 2 weeks. However on the night there was quite a few tables free that could have accommodated our original group. I was very disappointed in this regard
My partner and I met 20 years ago when Black Hide was the piano bar at Treasury. Very special to have had such a wonderful dining experience!!
Very friendly and attentive service. Great food and wine! The background music could be improved!
Place was amazing, service could not be questioned. Seriously good food
Great steaks. More creatives sides needed. Two of the sides we had weren’t awful but I wouldn’t order again. Tasteless and watery.
Excellent food! Service was great as well - especially considering a lot of the staff are new. We had the scollops, oysters and aranchini - honestly though you can’t go past the 9+ eye fillet (worth the money trust me!) Overall wonderful experience
overall enjoyed the experience but I don't think it will appeal to all. I was at the Treasury Casino & could not even bring my bottle of water in which I think is ridiculous.
The Service was outstanding. The Food was below average. I have never seen oysters so small in my life. The steak was so oversalted it was burning my mouth. Overall, I can cook a more tender and tastier steak on my BBQ at home which is really sad when buying a $70 steak.
Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience from the must have scallops to start with through to the magnificent rib on the bone ... Nom nom 😋
Good food and friendly service. Would recommend the tomahawk!
Maybe teething problems but waiter was not up to speed even though he apologised as did manager John Gambaro . Also correct order not given to the right person - such errors should not occur in upmarket restaurants. Desert menu very poor and not much in choice.
