Excellent venue, amazing food, attentive, prompt and courteous staff. Highly recommend. 👍👍👍
We had a lovely night, but the T-bone steak I ordered was VERY tough and quite small (with no eye) so not good value.
The option of a jacket potato or mash would be good, considering nothing else is offered with the main meal.
Black Hide was an amazing experience. Great steak and amazing sauce! Would definitely recommend!
Was too cold inside so asked to sit outside. Our mains where great and the steak was lovely, however the sides took another 5 minutes so we were left with warm half eaten mains and piping hot sides. Waiter attentiveness was few and far between and I actually only remember ordering 1 drink and drinking water as we were not checked on enough. For a whole package it is way over priced, could be amazing.
I found the steak I had to not be at the level I would expect for the price.
Would highly recommend
Food was incredible and the service was exceptional
Really appreciated that they looked after our requests for our special occasion
It was not that the food was bad, it just was not great for the money.
Not being Steak eaters we ordered the Pork Belly and Ravioli.
Couple with us ordered Pork Belly and Spatchcock.
Must say that none of us were rocked unfortunately. Expected much better.
Quite small serves so ordered Chips, Calamari and Onion Rings. Shared between us.
3 of us ordered dessert. I personally the Cherry Brulee. Unfortunately, a large Pip left in which nearly broke a tooth. I was offered this for free when complained.
Service from wait staff was great, ambience excellent although a little dark.
Probably will not be back again. Better food for the value, plenty places across Brisbane.
The food was fantastic and the service very good indeed. The steaks are expensive but of very high quality and worth the splurge.
Such a fabulous experience. Was our first time there and I certainly want to visit again soon!
Booked a table at Gambaro’s Black Hide Restaurant over at the Treasury Casino for mine and my partners anniversary.
All I can really say is wow!
The service was absolutely outstanding, the food was exceptional and very well priced, the atmosphere was quiet and dim lit and romantic just as I had planned, the quiet classical ballads playing in the background really set the mood.
My partner and I ordered the seared scallops and seared greens to start with, for the main a 5+ marbling scored rib eye steak cooked medium rare.
What can I say, the quality of food was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection.
The only thing that seemed to put a damper on the night was the pretentious customers seated behind us that had complained about anything and everything that they physically could, down to the amount of ice they had in their drinks.
I’m not saying it’s not alright to speak up when you are unhappy about the service you have received or quality of food you are served but speaking up just to hear your own voice and belittle hospitality staff is not okay.
The experience whilst dining at the Treasury inside the Black Hide Restaurant was perfect.
The staff were wonderful and very professional, the food was of an exceptional standard and cooked to perfection.
5 star rating without a doubt. Well done!
We started the evening with the Smoked Gnocchi. It was unexpectedly delicious. We both ordered the 3+ Rib Eye steak. My partner ordered his medium rare, mine was medium. The steaks included a sauce. His was the red wine sauce, and I had peppercorn. Sides were bone marrow and seasonal vegetables.
When the food arrived, we were treated to additional condiments from horseradish to hot english mustard.
I was a little disappointed when the steaks were cut already into 4 strips. My medium was a little over on one end as well. His was cooked perfectly, I would recommend mid rare. The sauces were unnecessary. The red wine sauce was actually a little too much. The steaks were seasoned well and didn't really need the sauce. The seasonal veggies were broccoli and cabbage. they were fine. I didn't have any of the bone marrow, be my partner said it was bland. For dessert we each sorbet. He had passion fruit and I had raspberry. The passion fruit was a little grainy.
The servers were delightful, however Brune was terrific! She was very attentive and super sweet. I would eat here again.
What particularly impressed me about this place, is that I’m not a huge steak fan and yet I still love eating here because the food is really good.
Outstanding meal. Really enjoyed the scallops. I wish I could have more details on the ingredients used. Best scallops I have had in a long, long time. Steak was cooked perfectly. Service was attentive without being smothering. Will absolutely be back again.
always a perfect meal and the head waitress is always extremely pleasant and wonderful to deal with
I highly recommend Black Hide. The food is excellent and service is exceptional.
Excellent food. Great wine list. The service was attentive but not overbearing. A lovely venue for a business meeting.
Terrible service, meat was worse than a pub steak and I chose the +9 wagyu... $125 for a steak not even as juicy and tasty as a $35 pub steak! Poor service with no one in sight to serve us. Terrible overall experience. Would not recommend to anyone unless they wanted an overpriced less than impressive experience. Terrible!
Admittedly I went into Black Hide with high expectations, having been recommended by some well-respected long time beef industry folks – actually, who wouldn’t anyway, with an $87.50 dry aged steak on the menu? Firstly our Oysters Kilpatrick we’re burnt, to the point of only tasting like burnt bacon, subsequently the actual oyster was well over cooked – in hindsight we should have sent these back but it’s just not in me to do that. We ordered Smoked Gnocchi and got fried crispy Gnocchi – it was nice. We got the dry aged Angus and Flinders Grass Fed – both fell average on my ‘The Best Steak You’ve Every Had Scale’, although still nice, I’ve had much better. The Bone Marrow was top notch and so we’re the Onion Rings. I’m actually thinking we jagged an off night (which is really disappointing for us) because we had heard such great things about Black Hide.
Great food but service could have been better
Always a pleasure dinning here. Beautiful and elegant, never disappoints. Thank you!
Waited 40 minutes for our meal, which was only two eye fillets and no sides. Almost cancelled as had gone past the eating stage. A very expensive meal for a very average service.
Best restaurant in Brisbane, such an amazing space, the staff are phenominal and are so attentive.
Enjoyed the evening with family. Friendly staff and food was great.
Our meal was impaccable and our server Maria was amazing. One of the best nights we had. Thank you!
Food was ok but for the price - I wouldn't recommend. It is also seriously lacking in atmosphere
Salad: mayonnaise drenched
Potatoes: perfect but only two tiny slices
Service: staff untrained. Wine sampling in left, had to move mu glass to help, then moved to the right and had to move my glass again.
Price: did not match food or service.
The food was exceptional, absolutely outstanding and the cocktails were perfect. The service was ok, not as impressive as the food unfortunately
Tomahawk - Meat was tough and cold, service was good, table position was good, definitely NOT worth the money.
Food can be much better, tomahawk was average, good service.
Thought the food was overpriced really for what it was. Steak was nice but not outstanding.
Carnivores paradise. Indulged myself here during a recent trip and am very glad I did. Meat glorious meat brilliantly cooked. I had a 8 week aged grass fed rib eye with marrow bone for even more indulgence. Cost a fortune but worth every penny. A side tomato salad was also delightful and felt very healthy. Cosy rooms attended by highly professional staff and - as a plus - not too noisy. I have to mention dessert. I had a very rich chocolate gelato which was excellent by itself but paired with the 30+yr old Pedro Ximenez it was simply outrageous. A must for meatkovers in Brisbane. The meat here is awesome and that's why you go and shell out the big bucks.
Dinner on Friday night was very good. The wagyu was very good quality. The taste was amazing!!!
The ribs for entree were SO GOOD!
The table beside us were a bit loud, our waitress offered to move us to a quieter spot, which was really thoughtful.
Side dishes were beautiful as well. Staff genuinely interested how we were enjoying our meal. I’d definitely recommend eating here. This was my second visit and standard same both times.
Although expensive, the steak if wonderful, just beautiful and friendly great service to match
I had the Tomahawk, warm blue. Cooked perfectly but just a little too much fat on the cut which when cooked this way did not render out and I had to leave a fair amount of fat on the plate as it was just not able to be eaten. I love eating the fat but not this time. Perhaps next time chef could select a less fatty piece for a blue steak? The food was expensive, but it was exquisitely prepared, tasted magnificent and was well presented. The staff were attentive and always seemdd to be there just when you needed or wanted something. I had a couple of lovely scotch whiskies that were reasonably priced as well. I will return.
If you love fine dining and quality steak, Black Hide is the place. Service and food beyond expection. Perfect location too with river views. A suggestion, if you want outside table, book it with your reservation. I have been there so many times, wonder when I will get my own steak knife.
For me, service can be just as important as the meal. Both of which did not disappoint.
Thanks, we certainly will return again.
Very nice experience and food was fantastic
Service was very nice too and will go again
The food was great, service was a little down at the start. We asked for a taste of a wine however 15 minutes later someone asked if we would like a drink which we explained we asked someone to bring a tester back. Another 5 min went by to be told we don't have that option so was a little disappointing considering it was the first request.
The service got better throughout the night however again during placing our order we had a couple fighting in the background and the waitress and Myself had to speak up to be heard. The disappointment around this the couple argued for 5 more minutes until I had to remove myself from my romantic night with my partner to ask something to be done (no one was aware even after the waitress was there during it).
Over all food was good and atmosphere was good just the above awareness of products and acting on issues in the restaurant could be improved.
Outstanding customer service - with staff being observed as being able to read the customers and the level of interaction they sort. Excellent food, though higher than would have paid in Melbourne for similar quality. Lovely atmosphere, unaware of being in the midst of a casino.
