Black Bull Steak & Seafood Restaurant
Our locally owned business draws on over 100 years of combined restaurant experience to bring you quality meats and fresh seafood every day.
Valet parking is available.
The place is very nice inside. Good for a steak house but nearly as good as Wayne Steakhouse.
Food and service were great as usual. Their $32.00 prix-fixe is also a great buy.
We thought the food was marginal-all of our filet mignon was over cooked. 2 meals came out and we had to wait for the other 2 meals to come out while they had 3 servers serving coffee at the table next to us. Not sure why they weren’t all brought out at once. Way too expensive compared to other steak houses in the area. It was our first time and last time.
Everything was excellent! We came here to celebrate our 39th Wedding Anniversary.
The ambiance, the lovely woman who greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our table, the food, our waiter, Tony, who gave just the right amount of attention making sure our food was prepared as ordered, the assistants who helped deliver our dinners, made sure our water was refreshed and our table kept neat & clean throughout the meal. What could be better? Maybe not having the Salads and Vegetables as ala-carte items. I know all the Steakhouses do the same thing, but for the Prices these establishments charge for a Steak, adding a salad or veg to the Entrée', would go a long way in having Customers return again in the future.
We were in town and needed to grab some dinner. Thanks to opentable we found this gem of a place. Violeta, the hostess, was wonderful & friendly, making us feel welcome from beginning to end. The food was great, really liked the lobster bisque & eggplant parmigiana. Great wine selection too. Highly recommend this place, will definitely be back.
We love Leo and his staff
overall, solid quality steak place although not quite Luger or Sparks or even Rails (we hadporterhouse for 2) and my wife had 10oz lobster tail that was a little overdone. bacon steak a bit too fatty but for $6 no real complaints.
The location is a nice clean place. The food was so-so given the price charged. All sides are extra! The steak tasted a bit old, and blacken shrimp was saturated in Oil. Don't think I would frequent again. Little too expensive (240 for two people with drinks).
We ordered a T bone steak which my son enjoyed very much. My wife order the braised steak tips and she demolished the plate, I ordered the Veal chop Milanese and it was great. The drinks were great and the tiramisu was outstanding. We will be back.
We celebrated my husbands birthday with our family . The steaks were great however the appetizers, side dishes and dessert portion sizes were lacking greatly. We have been to many other restaurants where the waiter encourages or assists in choosing proper amounts since he or she is aware of the portions. For example,, we ordered Clams Casino and they were the size of Little Necks..
Very good service. Attentive staff. Food was good but I expected it to be a little better based on the pricing. We mostly ate from their seafood options so I cannot rate the steaks. The appetizers were excellent.
There were a number of tables open not sure why they stuck a party of 2 by the most noisy table in the place. I immediately notice a large wine stain on the table linens that they just covered with a napkin. My set up was missing a large fork and a bread plate which at these prices you would expect more precision. Nice that the server took the order by memory so that means you must remember everything like no avocado on my wedge salad which came out with....you guessed it....avocado. Steak was ordered medium came out medium rare but I did not complain. Took some time to get our check which should be the most important part to them. I have been here several times and maybe I am being picky but at $48 for a steak well I should be picky. They need to step it up.
Always consistent...from professional service and expertly prepared steak. Many specials to choose from for those non meat eaters. Leo runs a well managed ship!
Never had a bad meal here and the service is always exceptional.
Good lord the owner Doni is back because that place was about to be in trouble I went one Friday and bartender was fighting with chief I felt so bad because the food was so great and usually the service it’s perfect but that ugh was it so went back Friday evening everyone was quiet as usual before and I saw a young guy helping all of the waiter and the bartender sitting people’s keeping everyone quite and I asked who is this guy, and they told that this is Doni and it’s one of the partners on restaurant I was so glad to speak with him
We have been there for dinner at least a dozen times, this time we took our adult children for their birthday dinner. From walking in the door and sitting at the bar for a drink all the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. The food was was delicious, no one was disappointed. Our daughter and her boyfriend got the tomahawk steak and it was done perfectly. The service was excellent, even though there was so much talking going on the table, the waiters kept checking on us. I would recommend this restaurant highly.
Second time here. My friend wanted to come back for their filet mignon for the tenderness. Still excellent. My wife had a NY sirloin and it was fabulous. I had the daily special swordfish, and it was very good and not dry. Will come back again.
Awesome as usual!
This place is unpretentious, not super fancy, but the food was terrific. Worth the price. We will definitely go back.
Very friendly, upscale area. Owner was very hospitable and attended to every need. It was quiet as we went on a Tuesday night but I can only imagine that it would get busy and for good reason. Recommended
Calamari appetizer was not very good.
Wife's fish seemed like it sat under heat lamp for a bit waiting on my steak as the sauce was a little congealed.
Steak was good.
Sorry for the price I much prefer the River Palm in Fairlawn
One out of four meals came, got cold waiting for the rest. They took that meal back when we said something. A second meal came, still waiting on the other three meals. Two more meals finally showed up. The fourth entree was served eventually, missing the side dishes!!! Service from kitchen was really poor while waitress was sweet. Embarrassed I brought guests to this restaurant.
Saturday nights reservations. Service was incredibly slow (over 2 1/2 hours for drinks, appetizers and main course). Slow to receive everything. Waiter was inattentive and had to get his attention for everything. Unseasoned Calamari rings in a high end restaurant is a joke. Crab cakes were ok. Steaks were of great quality but lacked any seasoning (salt and pepper is basic enough). What a disappointment this anniversary dinner was and it wasn’t cheap. I will never go back after this experience.
Drinks were delicious, service was very attractive. Food was just okay.
Service was slow but food pretty good.
The service and restaurant ambiance were both on par with what I was expecting but my steak was awful. The sear was not a sear on the steak and the medium-rare was closer to well. The other steak order was supposed to be rare but it was medium-rare at best. If you advertise being a steakhouse, then this shouldn't be the case.
Food was very good, portions were very good size and we could not finish our sides they gave us so much, staff was excellent and the decor was enjoyable and what I would expect for a steakhouse in the area. Only complaint was the parents of the table next to us who gave their kid a cell phone with volume very loud that had me thinking Chuck E Cheese instead of steakhouse. But that was not the fault of the restaurant. I will go back here again and while its not cheap by any means I felt like I mattered as a diner and they cared if we were having a good evening. Too many restaurants don't care anymore but this restaurant did.
Limited lobster offerings. No music at all in background. Felt a bit in decay for a relatively new restaurant.
Prices are NYC level, service great.
Black Bull is just a wonderful restaurant. Everything about it is well above the norm.
Great experience every time. Great menu and specials. Staff very attentive. I stop in every time I’m in the area. Give it a try.
Great food great service I was here on Sunday we had a great time the waiter was right around us with specials and drinks were perfect
We have been here about a dozen times... for special occasions as it is very pricey. Previously we had very good food and even wrote a prior excellent review. But this last visit was not even average. When we arrived for our reservation we stood at an empty front desk for about 5 minutes... there was no one there and the people who entered behind us called the restaurant in order to get their attention. Starting with the appetizers; the clams casino were tasty but barely warm, the tuna tartare was also tasty but had very little tuna, it was mixed in with a lot of tomato and onion and not worth $18, the grilled portobello salad was the only very good appetizer. The entrees; blackened scallop special had very good scallops but came with awful mashed potatoes (could have been powdered mix) and bitter broccolli rabe, the 12 oz butchers cut filet was very tender but came medium-well (almost well) and was ordered medium-rare and appeared much less than 12 oz, two orders of the 16 oz filet (with bone) both came half cooked properly at medium-rare with the other half of it raw. And please skip dessert... the key lime pie was tasteless, the creme brulee was awful, the chocolate lava cake was not even warm and the pecan pie tasted more like chocolate pie with a few pecans. Spent almost $400 for 4 people and no longer worth the splurge.
Best steak in area!
Overall experience was good. Good piece of porterhouse for 2. Chilean sea bass was not the beat I have had, but still good. The only thing was that waitress not realize it’s her table till the manager told her after we’ve sat down for 10 min. It would have been better if it was more attentive.
I had a great time. We plan to go at wayne steak but after we found out that the Wayne steak house was closed on Sunday we decided to give this place a try for first time and booked for my fathers birthday celebration we enjoyed the service, Food, and drinks both waiters was friendly and Fantastic bad choice Wayne we will not coming back again black-bull it’s our new steak house
We stop for Mother’s Day the place was busy as any other place for Mother’s Day we decided to go downstairs instead of waiting for 5 minutes which I really understood that busy day so the food was great service was outstanding we had a steak for 2 and the sides was huge this is my first time and I will be back soon and I need the same waiter make sure same cooks I think for the size of the steak it’s affordable steak I visit every steak house and the prices are very similar and a lot of them they are way more than here.
Always attend for a good tasting steak in the area.
We came here for Mother's Day dinner. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. Staff was friendly and clearly very busy, but never once did we feel neglected. Food was very good and came out hot. From the greeter in the front all the way through the busboys, everyone was friendly and helpful. Steak was perfectly cooked, the sides were delicious. Lava cake was ok, needed for lava. Apple strudel was excellent. Will definitely return.
I was very disappointed in this place. First we had a reservation and they didn't have room so we were moved to an empty downstairs location. The service was ok but we ordered the 40 oz. Tomahawk ribeye and I believe they served us the 22oz ribeye and displayed as the tomahawk. The bone was too short and the meat was the same as the other ribeye our son ordered. Beware of this place. Even the seafood tower for 3 was a little shy for the price.
