Black & Blue Steak & Crab - Buffalo
Enjoyed drinks and oysters at bar. Had a very good dinner— service was fine— a bit slow, but we were in no hurry.
Our server, Katie, was very pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient.
Lobster Tail is delicious. Adam great server.
We are frequent patrons of Black & Blue and are never disappointed. Our steaks were excellently prepared and were delicious. I had a dry aged steak on recommendation from our waiter, and it was really exceptional. Highly recommended.
First time there. Very overrated and expensive for what you get. 1 medium sized crab leg for $23 with steak order! The filet was fine and, surprisingly, drinks reasonable. I can think of a lot of other places I would go if I want a $200 dinner.
Olivia was amazing. I’d go back for her any day.
The food was excellent and the server (Olivia) was outstanding. We were celebrating two birthdays and the entire staff made that very memorable
Beautiful ambiance, our waiter Liam was super efficient and very likable. Food was attractively presented and very delicious.
This was a first time experience for my Nephew. He was very happy with the ambiance and menu selection. I will say he was pleased with his choice of dinner which was the steak and half lobster. As for myself I had the 18 oz. lobster tail, I inquired as to the tastiness and sweetness of the tail and was told it was very good...as I expected. As it turned out the tail was bland without even a hint of savvy in preparation. The presentation was a white and bland looking boiled tail...there is was nothing appealing about it and it was a bit tough. When I go to dinner at a restaurant as yours I expect to be very pleased and delighted that I came...sadly I was not.
It was a seasoning explosion! Everyhing from steak to sides was covered with random spices. I was quite surprised by the sides. I consider them cheap, not up to basic restaurant standards and completely lacked imagination for the price paid. Positive note, the wine was good!
I had king crab legs and they had slits in them one leg had a slit but know meat in it. I was on a date so I didn't want to complain at that time.
not the same on a holiday night as on a regular night
New Years dinner... wasn’t the same as it normally is there. Probably our worst meal there. Very disappointed
Dinner was great.....Love the atmosphere, have been coming for years. A little surprised at the price of 1 small glass of wine at $12.75 ...other than that I though the cost of the food was fair, delicious and the portions were good.....Also , draft beer was empty on our first 2 choices. Prob. because of the holdiay.
Excellent overall experience. Service and food was excellent.
Early New Year’s Eve. We to ask for silverware on several occasions, never inquired about meals. Been going here for a while and just really bad service
Just ok, better first time we went. Our waiter was just ok, I think because we had some teens with us he figured he wouldn’t get a big tip...which was untrue. Probably won’t go back any time soon. It was early New Year’s Eve (4-5 pm) and the manager (Ashley) who had the place in top order last time we went wasn’t there....so it felt like it was missing the service and quality he demands of his team.
A beautiful restaurant serving an interesting menu and fine cocktails. We had lunch and for lunch the prices tend to the high end.
It was a great meal, terrific service and a relaxing atmosphere. We can’t wait to go back!
Love the pretzel bread served with dinner; you must save room for the peanut butter pie parfait - it's delicious!
Food was excellent as was service! Will definitely go back.
Our waiter, Craig, was excellent. The food was not. The house special that night was seabass on risotto with spinach and carrot puree. That is what I chose to eat. It was sweet on sweet on sweet. There was no acid to balance the meal and the fish tasted unseasoned. I brought the leftovers home, but I ended up throwing them out because I couldn't stomach to eat the meal again. I was really looking forward to eating at this restaurant, but I was disappointed. I loved the ambiance, but the food would preclude me from going back.
Excellent dinner on Christmas Eve with my wife. Food was fantastic and the ambiance is always nice. It was a busy night with a lot of family holiday dinners but the staff was extremely nice and accommodating to everyone. We will continue to make this part of our holiday traditions.
Live in NYC and appreciated the open space between dining tables. Enjoyed menu selections, taste of food and prices. Will visit again next trip to Buffalo.
Friendly, attentive service. Food was great, one of the steaks was undercooked, but I suspect a communication error. Leg room for 4 people uncomfortable, overall good experienxe and value
Waygu beef apps we’re tasty. Highly recommend them. Steak sandwich was very good also though bread got a bit soggy.
Food was outstanding, our server,Liam, made our anniversary special!
Brandon was a great server, very attentive and helpful. Great professional demeanor, Not thrilled about my grilled chicken Caesar salad. Very plain and dressing was mediocre.
Dessert selection was good.
Every thing was great , I already have a dinner reservation there .... A+++++
Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and server made sure everything was to our satisfaction.
The service was impeccable. Unfortunately the same could not be said for the food. Steak was burned and had to be returned to kitchen. second steak not cooked well in spots. Macaroni and cheese lacked much cheese flavor at all and was returned to kitchen. Was told on phone lobster and crab legs would be availabe but this was not the case upon arrival. I was treating a friend for her 50th birthday and she was disappointed. Would go again but, for dinner. The staff bent over backwards to try and make things right. They are definitely the selling point for this establishment.
This is mine and my husband’s favorite restaurant. We come here three times a year to have a very nice diner and they never disappoint! We have also been to their other locations and they are equally comparable. We will forever be patrons to this restaurant. If you ever come here you need to have the steak and the meatballs!! They’re out of this world!!
My wife and I find it hard these days to find a restaurant that offers what we would call a true dining experience.
This was not the case with Black & Blue. From the friendly greeting at the door to the marvelous, professional service rendered by our server, our evening was a throwback to the days of feeling well-treated and special when we go out to dinner.
The place is beautiful: modern in decor and layout, with a classy vibe. Server was engaging, intelligent, and well-versed in the food and drink offerings. His suggestions were appreciated. We enjoyed catch-of-the-day oysters first; they were melt-in-the-mouth superb. For entrees, we each ordered the 7-oz. filet, which our server suggested we pair a wonderful merlot. Quite delicious! Meat was rare (as ordered), and the sides of mac & cheese and asparagus were great complements. We don't always have dessert, but decided to try the molten chocolate bomb, which hit the spot.
While B&B is a tad pricey for Buffalo, you get what you pay for in terms of quality and experience. We'll be back!
service was fantastic and our server made it a memorable first visit!
Exceptional service, food, and atmosphere. We were celebrating my father's and my daughter's birthdays and were treated like royalty. Thank you for a perfect evening.
Specified special date that I’d be visiting for
Was seated In the middle of the restaurant at a table for 4
Kinda dropped the ball there
My steak was over cooked wife’s was under cooked
Kinda not up to the standards expected considering price
Manager did make matters right and would consider returning for a second try
Great. Our server was nice. Think he was new We always have a great meal at B&B. No complaints.
My wife and I brought a friend to lunch to celebrate his birthday. Everyone who served us in any way made the event special. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!
Visited from Canada and what started out as a negative turned into one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. We had booked reservations for 8:15 but weren’t seated until one hour later. During our wait Ashley, the manager visited us numerous times to apologize and offer us drinks at the bar. The dedication to a positive experience did not stop there however! We were then treated to appetizers and dessert as well and CONSISTENTLY checked in on by many staff members as well as management. They all went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing but fantastic. Food was excellent, service was out of this world. Would 100% return and recommend!
