About
We are located inside the O Hotel
My Grubhub order was given to another patron. I had to then wait an additional 20 mins for my order to be re-made.
Did not realize it was the restaurant/bar of a hotel. Food was very good though not much happening in terms of liveliness of restaurant. Service was minimal...sort of made to feel “hurried.” Told at beginning (7:30pm)...restaurant closes at 9pm last is at 8:30. After drinks and appetizers arrived didn’t see waitress until it was time for us to go. Literally had to go elsewhere for dinner.
First time there and thought “what a great cozy place”! If I lived close I would be there most nights at the bar and sitting around the fireplace! Great food, nice servers, wonderful atmosphere! We will be back soon......
First time going here and I will be going back! The food was delicious especially the Pork Belly Tacos. Prices are reasonable. The ambiance is sexy and warm. Great place to go on date night. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Five stars!
Great vegetarian food options! The place was empty when we arrived at 6:30 PM, and only a few others came while we were there.
Quiant spot, nice atmosphere. Food was pretty good, menu just a little small
Our waiter seemed distracted and disinterested. Past our table several times without even asking if we needed anything. We had to ask another waiter and a busboy to help us. I had a pasta with mushrooms the pasta was thick and uncooked and inedible the rest of the food we had was delicious
We really enjoyed ourselves.
Overall the Food was good - nice appetizers and steak.
side veggies and salmon were way too salty.
Desserts were really good.
Service was disappointing. Nice person, but did not seem to know when to ask for drinks, take the order, when to take menus etc.
Biggest issue - when we reserved, we made a specific birthday request. When shared the request with the waiter all he said was we dont do that. Not an iota of interest in making the experience meaningful.
The meal and experience at BKLA was phenomenal. The service was perfectly executed, as was the food, and the timing of its arrival. The ambiance was quiet, sexy, and warm. Would highly recommend a visit with friends looking for great food, wine, and opportunity to talk in a trendy yet classic facade. Cheers, BKLA. Thanks.
The server/bartender was awful. We were basically the only costumers in the restaurant and he could care less. Never asked us if we wanted anything to drink besides water, didn't know what the soup of the day was (he said it was too early for him - it was 12pm), took forever to find out what it was, he didn't write down our order completely screwed up one of the salad orders, and I had to go ask him for the check. This is our go to restaurant as it is close to our office, it will be a while before we dine here again.
They have great shareable items that are delicious! The drinks are great and it's just a cute and chill place for an after work bite and drinks. Been here twice and loved it both times. Will definitely be back!
The food was good but the service was terrible. I am not sure if they were understaffed but our waiter was very aloof and didn’t attend to us at all. He seemed too busy working the bar. He didn’t even offer us water until the end of the meal.
Beware Open Table users, we booked through the app for a 645p opening last minute, and when we walked in the bartender/host told us “IT’s MY PET PEEVE WHEN SOMEONE BOOKS LAST MINUTE”. Uh, then don’t be on Open Table and accept reservations. Soured the mood for us with his rude non-customer service attitude. But we had to eat there due to a concert in just an hour. Food was good. Waiter Ed was nice, but super slow with even drinks coming out.
Pre concert meal
We wanted a quick bite before theater. BK was perfect. The menu is tiny and choices few, so I suggest that a diner check it first, but we were all very happy with our choices. Very cozy ambience and good cocktails as well.
Food was awesome. Drinks were terrific. Nice quiet ambiance. Great experience overall.
Great place to meet up with friends and have great food and drinks.
great happy hour!!! stopped in before a concert at the staples center....quick, fast and delicious food! highly recommend!!
Located in a historic Los Angeles hotel building with charming character, the food menu at BKLA contains several unique, creative items that aren't often offered at other restaurants.
Brussel sprouts and shrimp and grits were amazing. Ambiance was great!
Food was delicious as were the drinks. All at a fair price. I’ll definitely be returning.
Horrible service and average food
Bartenders and staff were extremely helpful and courteous.
Limited servers kept our server very busy we always had empty drinks looking for server to get refills and the restaurant wasn’t busy. The food doesn’t have a lot of flavor. Said it was prime rib and it wasn’t mostly fat throughout the whole steak. The best thing on menu was the French fries. Was a very upsetting experience but the ambiance of the place is very nice.
I ended up here with 5 other family members after a Saturday Ahmanson matinee. Great find with availability to sit our group AND it was Happy Hour! The cocktails were perfect. All the food was really superb! We were all very impressed with the staff too - very friendly, attentive yet relaxed and very sweet! We will definitely be back again. Loved it!
Enjoyed our lunch there. Wish there was one more person on staff there, but overall, a great meal--good flavors and combinations. Seating is a little funky with either high tables or low tables, nothing really in between if you are in a party of more than 2 people. Didn't check out upstairs though.
Weirdly quiet/empty but good food!
Really great options and low priced Happy Hour! Cool space. Construction next door at moment, so a little more difficult to find with awning blocking entry, but hardly a big deal just an FYI and not at all noticeable once inside.
I went during lunch with my coworkers. Loved the food and the service was outstanding!
The food was pretty good, nothing specials. However, the service was terrible. The bartenders were working as the waiters as well. They forgot an order, food came out late, and they never asked us how we were.
We were surprised that there was a weekend happy hour. It made us stay about an hour longer than we had planned. The ambiance was amazing! Instead of sitting at a table, we sat on sofas and ottomans around a large coffee table. It felt like we were in our home just catching up with friends.
It was an amazing experience.
Thank you open table for the recommendation.
Hard to locate due to construction. The temporary sign is hanging on construction site.
Cool vibe and seems like a great place for happy hour.
Ate LA Dine week lunch- loved the watermelon feta salad.
Good lunch
Great night!
The food was very good but I was not happy with limited menu. Not a lot of choices. Heavy on Italian, I would have loved to see some fish on the menu.
We were pleasantly surprised on how good this was. Booked on Open-table based upon prior reviews, however weren’t quite sure what to expect. It was very quite (maybe 3 people) when we arrived (6:15pm) and figured we would give it a try. Food was quite good and we enjoyed ourselves. I would highly recommend as a casual dinner or a place to hang with some friends. We plan on going back.
We all enjoyed ourselves and the food was excellent. We would certainly come back another time.
The food was super tasty and not skimpy. Tried the kale salad, tater tots, and shrimp & grits. Lemonade to drink. I'll definitely go back.
I enjoyed my service from our bartender Fernando. His drinks and service were great!
We had a great time. We were able to pick any table we wanted and as we sat down at the table, a server was at our table taking our drink orders. I highly recommend the Mezza trio, it was super yummy. We also had the Merguez Flatbread which was spicy and filling. The atmosphere was casual and easy going.
