Stylish Bar and Restaurant with lounge seating and bar tables, great vibe and European/French Cuisine.
The ambience was ok. The drinks menu excellent. Noise level absolutely ridiculous. I believe staff need to ask patrons to quieten down. Food sounded wonderful on the menu. The entrees were acceptable. Main courses a disaster. The Pork Toulouse aka pork sausages was inedible. The blame was directed at the supplier rather than the way it was cooked. The rib was so dry (was ordered well done) my partner nearly choked. Once again inexperienced cooking. My course was basically snags and mash and my partners was steak and chips. The bar staff very inexperienced. Need more staff to provide a better level of service. With the prices chaged this is affordable.
Everything about Bistro Sociale was fantastic, not a fantastic as my date though.
Plenty of character, warm, cozy atmosphere. Great choice of gin!
Had a great night, great ambience, lovely and warm. Food was excellent, cocktails super yummy but overall the night was quite pricey. Would come again!
Interesting, tasty, well presented food, welcoming atmosphere, gorgeous open fire and great service. Would recommend x
The food was delicious, we dined here for two dinners. The service is welcoming and very attentive. I would recommend the Bistro and will return when I am in Bowral next visit.
My first visit to Bistro Sociale was a great experience. Food was delicious and well presented and the staff very attentive. The atmosphere was warm and the dark colour furnishings add to the ambience. No bright glaring lights or noisy floor. Would definitely go again.
The paella dish was very disappointing, it was all rice! A few tiny muscles and no whole prawns. The prawns were cut up into tiny pieces, they were the same size as the rice and were virtually non existent. So our most expensive dish for the lunch was basically a plate of rice. Also our bread was burnt.
Otherwise the service was great and our experience was good.
Really lovely meal in a delightful space. We enjoyed a drink by the fire prior to eating and it was perfect on a cold winter night. Service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to make a particular cocktail for me. The meal was very good. My friends had steak cooked as requested, medium rare, and I had gnocchi and mushrooms with just enough smoky flavour to lift it to extraordinary. I would highly recommend Bistro Sociale.
The bar is everything you would want on a cold winter's night. The barman's skills are world class. The service for food is extremely slow despite the restaurant being empty. The food is ok. I would not go back for the food but I would definitely go back for cocktails in front of the fireplace. The drinks were sensational.
Exceptional value, great local produce and wines. Will be back!
We love coming here, we love the journey that the food here takes us on. Staff are always lovely and we love the decor and vibe that this venue gives. Always a fantastic evening and we have already recommended this restaurant to many people. Thank you.
Poor service. An empty wine glass as well as dirty plates were left on our table for over an hour. No one came to check in on us and it was only a Thursday night (not so busy). Need to improve customer service.
We enjoyed our food and wine a lot, and the place was beautiful. They have a lot to improve on in terms of service but the wait staff were definitely trying their hardest. Overall, not a negative experience and would probably try it again if we stayed in the hotel in the future.
Great place for dinner and drinks. Aesthetics were fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful, however were lacking experience. Had to ask three times for simple table water which we only received after our main had come out.
Had a beautiful experience here.
Restaurant was nicely decorated, food was devine with sophisticated flavours and service equally great.
Eton Mess for dessert is a must.
The gin offering was also quite impressive.
Lovely food, service and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend them to family and friends.
A very pleasant evening. Staff were friendly and attentive. Service was good and wine selection excellent. The menu was very good with plenty of options and the food was prompt and delicious.
Nice food. Except Meringue too soft. Service friendly but slow.
The duck wasn’t cooked well. The dessert was served in a small glass which our spoon didn’t fit into.
We had a fantastic dinner at Bistro Sociale. Great food, amazing service and a beautiful atmosphere. Thank you for our time, we will be back soon.
Went on a saturday night, easy to get a booking and seemed to be a quite night. Unfortunately the food took an hour to come out however it was delicious when it came.
Unfortunately the food was nothing to write home about. Substantial amount of food given the price per head. Cheesy love songs, cliche valentines hits on repeat. Booking process was difficult given trouble with phone lines. Wouldn’t rush back.
Limited menu but food was good. Service ok but had to wait a long time for desserts & coffee bought before desserts...not good.
What a great place this turned out to be … OMG the house cooked bread with the hay smoked butter… delicious. My pork cutlet & my husbands rib eye were cooked perfectly. Thank you Chef. Our waitress engaged with us, which was lovely as we were not just another customer and our host/manager of the restaurant was very welcoming, very knowledgeable about the produce that was cooked in the kitchen & certainly had great bar skills and made an awesome Negroni.
Would definitely go back, especially for the bread & butter.
Great food at a great price the wine list showcases local Highlands vineyards. The staff are lovely with a sense of humour and the restaurant space is stylish bistro style. Highly recommend for a casual dinner without stuffiness.
