Bistro Guillaume
This is the second Bistro Guillaume that has opened its doors, with Guillaume’s original restaurant at Crown Melbourne receiving One Hat in both the 2012 and 2013 editions of The Age Good Food Guide.
Overall very good. Food is first class. It was a busy Monday night. Drink service needs to improve slightly.
Very disappointing. This is supposed to be a top restaurant. No tablecloths, tissue thin paper napkins, old, worn cutlery. Asked for a French wine from the list, not available. Two of us but we had to ask for a second glass. We had the duck and it came floating in a bowl of green peas!!!!!. Tasteless. This is a French restaurant and duck would not be served like that. We were there for a special celebration but came away quite dejected.
Lovely ambience and wonderful service. Keep up the good work!
As a premium restaurant I expected cloth napkins, they were flimsy paper serviettes. Service was attentive and friendly. Entrees arrived before our cocktails, not good. Food was delicious. Menu is pared back and classic. Not exciting but staple French dishes done well. Wine selection offered broad choice and some interesting domaines.
The restaurant was beautiful and the food exquisite. The staff were very friendly and excellent in their provision of service.
Fantastic food served by fantastic staff
Food was lovely however a little overpriced for the level of quality
Service was reasonable but not a great deal of personal attention, a little rushed and they could have revisited to enquire about further beverages
Had a feeling of working through to turn over the tables and that is not how you should make your guests feel
Bathrooms very average without personal touches
Very nice place to enjoy a special celebration meal on New Year’s Day!
Great Atmosphere, Sensational Food, Best Service!! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
We ate here as a family of 4 with 2 young kids. Kids menu was fine. The blue cheese soufflé isn’t really a soufflé and was quite disappointed with it. Smoked salmon dish was beautiful and charcuterie board was quite nice, except the rilette didn’t taste of anything. Bread was delicious, wine list good.
Overall a good experience.
Well appointed French restaurant with amiable staff who were attentive and agreeable. We were a party of five with 3 vegan diners. Unfortunately the vegan option was limited to one choice; despite booking weeks in advance and alerting the restaurant of the vegan dietary requirements. Considering Bistro Guillaume is a fine dining establishment run by a world renowned chef, it is most disappointing that in 2020, only one vegan dish was available.
Always have a great experience, Bistro Guillaume never lets us down.
Friendly service. The taste and food seemed to be one dimension. Experience was below our expectation as a restaurant with 12 chef hats. Overall, not value for money.
Entree and mains were extremely flavoursome and a good portion size. We had the snails, beef fillet and duck and all were 10/10. The bartender was lovely and the evening as a whole made for the perfect birthday dinner for my partner.
The service was friendly and professional. Attentive waitstaff, no waiting for drinks.
All meals were well presented, generous serves and very tasty, good quality food.
Restaurant fairly quiet, not overcrowded, view over main pool area of hotel makes an interesting outlook.
A lovely special occasion restaurant. Would recommend .
Food quality is the main reason we come back here. It is prepared by an obviously very experienced chef(s), it tastes like the food is supposed to, kept simple yet not lacking extra flavour. Staff are very attentive, friendly and professional. You would think a fine-dining restaurant like this would be expensive, but value for money is excellent.
The service was lovely but that’s where it ended. For a fine dining restaurant they have paper menus that you have to flip over to be your placement and paper napkins. The oysters were good however The chateaubriand we asked for medium and it came out well done and chewy ($110). It comes with watercress, potatoes and peppercorn sauce. We had to ask for extra sauce due to the dryness of the beef. The desserts were good. We went to order a drink before our main meal however never received service.
Wonderful staff made the experience great for friends we took there for the first time for them. One of our favourite restaurants. Lovely outlook & atmosphere. Food always delicious
Excellent food and cocktails in a comfortable setting. Not too formal, not too casual. Well worth a visit!
Sensational food, beautifully presented, our young waitress was polite and attentive without being obtrusive.
Only downside...the Maitre d', may I suggest an attitude adjustment. You are front line, first exposure, and old enough to know better. You, were very disappointing and had it not been a special occasion for us, you may have regretted your attitude.
The service was fabulous, the food was delicious and overall we had a fabulous evening
Fantastic service from our waiter.
Delicious food and wonderful ambiance!
Beautiful venue, decor was gorgeous, lovely food and staff. Had a tea with no tea in it... I requested another coffee but was told only 1 per person.
Dined here many times and never been disappointed
Thank you meal was lovely, had a great seat near the window. Serve was good
Until next time cheers
I always love going to Bistro Guillaume. I love French food
Terrible experience
We had our 2 year old with us the waiter came out with bread but ignored her and did not give her any ??
Food was below average for the price
Food I ordered was well flavoured, but as a “foodie” who has lived in France & Belgium & a fan of Guillaume Brahimi I expected the menu to be far more French. Pavlova??? Where was the mousse au chocolate, poire Belle Hélène, tart tartin etc? Onion soup on a 40degree day in summer - surely a vichyssoise would have been more appropriate. Service was pleasant but not great. 3 of our group ordered the 3 course menu & ordered their 3 courses. the rest of us a la carte & were not even offered dessert
Had bday celebration with my hubby and children.
Delightful atmosphere
Wonderful food
Inspiring decor
Great service
Both mains were delicious, Barramundi and the steak. A side of veg was tasty too. We were there for our second anniversary, ideally a quieter spot would have been nice, felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere
The most disappointing meal and experience. Service woeful. After ordering per lunch g&ts and mineral water no other drinks were asked - the food (duck confit) came out so quick and tasted awful - a mound of cooked frozen peas and 2 small duck legs over cooked - salt overpowering.
No water offered
No service so we couldn’t order a wine with our meal
It was that bad after we left I walked back to complain. Do not recommend.
The waiter who served us was really lovely. But the Manager, he was really unfriendly...needs to learn communication skills!! The cost of the Set menu was $90,which was too high! especially now with Covid and budgets... Also the restaurant could have included a glass of sparkling for that price...plus it is the festive season.....
Plus I called the 1800 number to include another friend and I was on hold for over 20 mins!! When I conveyed that to the waiter, he said restaurant is not in control!
Food was great although felt very rushed we were asked 5 times in 10 mins for our food order and just wanted to enjoy a drink and look at menu
A lovely high tea experience with a great range of savoury foods. I will recommend asking for a table close to the windows so you can see the gorgeous view of the pool and the city.
had the high tea and could not fault it,
the waiter went through the menu with us,
we had the champagne high tea, I thought they could offer a different champagne as I find the Moet a bit dry.
otherwise 10/10
the service was exceptional from the time we got there till we left,
our waiter was exscellent,
would recommend there to anyone
We brought my brother here which was his first time. We bave always been delighted with our experience and he too was soon delighted.
Love the decor
Excellent staff attention
Really good atmosphere, went with our 2 year old and she loved it, the stay were great with her and us and the food she adored. Thank you again for a memorable night.
