Bistro Guillaume - Crown Perth Ratings and Reviews
We booked at the last minute and were unable to secure a reservation around 7pm, so opted for 8pm. We arrived at 7:55 to a restaurant that was barely 25% full. Obviously, given that it was Monday night, they may have had fewer staff and could therefore service fewer tables, but this meant it lacked atmosphere. Then we waited far too long to place a drinks order, and even longer to order mains. Sadly we had to eat quickly to collect our children from an event. Disappointing.
I am a Cordon Bleu trained cook & have eaten at his restaurant in Sydney which was thoroughly enjoyable, however even though we had the $50 menu there is NO excuse for very lacklustre food, my husband didn't even finish his mushroom risotto as it really had very little flavour! So no we were definitely NOT wowed by the food, under whelmed would be how we felt sadly.
I felt it was a waste of money. We had the fifty dollar 2 course package. French onion soup was lovely very nice.
Small piece of bread to accompany a bit lacking.
My fish dish was dry and unpalatable. My husband had the pork belly wish was dry too.
None of the waiters asked how our main courses were. They took the plates and hurried away as they may have also known the food was dy and overcooked.
Disappointed really such a nice ambience.
Food was great as usual, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Staff were pleasant and attentive. In passing we told waitress that it was our wedding anniversary and when dessert arrived 'happy anniversary' had been written in chocolate on the plate - a delightful touch.
I REQUESTED A ROMANTIC TABLE BUT WASNT SURE IT WOULD BE RECOGNISED AS A GENUINE REQUEST. IT WAS AND I COULDNT BE MORE PLEASED. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. MY MAN AND I ARE NEW SWEETHEARTS IN OUR 60'S SO THERE WAS LOTS OF HAND HOLDING AND PRIVATE CONVERSATION. YOUR STAFF WAS ACCOMMODATING AND DIDNT CRAMP OUR STYLE. ALL TOGETHER IT WAS A BEAUTFUL EVEING ENJOED BY BOTH OF US. WELL DONE AND THANK YOU
The staff didn't make us feel comfortable at all. Always in a rush, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. It took 35min for the meal to come by and after clearing the mains, the waiters took so long to ask if we wanted deserts that we actually gave up. All but one staff was nice and helpful. Most of them were looking cranky and always running around without looking to the customers to see if the needed anything like another drink, which again, I gave up ordering due to the long wait.
Cannot fault the food at all. Everything we ordered was absolutely outstanding!! Only disappointment was a few of the wait staff weren’t friendly.. we didn’t get a “you’re welcome” after we said thank you or didn’t get asked how everything was, it was just silence which was not only awkward but a bit disappointing having spent a fair bit on the dinner experience . The food though was incredible.
We love this restaurant but we're disappointed when we opted to have the quick $50 2 course set menu as we were going to a show. We ordered the onion soup which was fine. I ordered the pink snapper for main which was not fine. The fish was the only thing on the plate covered in an abundance of small capers with half an unattractive lemon sat on the side. The fish was tasteless and needed something with it. The plate was bare. Why was there not at least some garnish. Very disappointed .
As part of a promotion with Crown, we take advantage of the $50 lunches which includes two courses plus a glass of bubbles. There is no short supply of food and the quality is full restaurant service. Fantastic value for money and a wonderful day out with friends. I love Guillames furnishings for colour and comfort and we were lucky to get a pool view on a sunny day. There was a choice of entree and main or main and dessert.or you could upgrade for all three for extra $20 if you can't decide
We have dined at the restaurant previously and always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately we were seated at the window which has a lovely outlook but in close proximity to the AC outlets. Cold air blew onto us throughout the meal. When we mentioned the problem to the waiter he was sympathetic and went to adjust the AC settings and returned to ask us if the situation had improved. We replied yes anticipating a gradual improvement but ultimately we left before dessert as the problem persisted.
Anniversary dinner, and having just returned from France, I had high expectations. Possibly chose the wrong food - onion soup for starter and pink snapper from the $50 for two course menu. Onion soup was meh. Snapper was just two small pieces of fish, with some lentil/capers over it. No sauce. Manu would have wept. I had to retrieve some garlic from my husbands dish to spread over it in a desperate attempt to swallow it. Wait staff, I wouldn't describe as friendly or informative. Left deflated.
Awesome night thank you. shame the staff member didn't have a name badge because the young (blonde) lady who looked after our table was excellent, not often do you get strong menu knowledge, best recommendations and smile to match, a credit to your business.
Also the young Chap behind the bar was very pleasant.
We usually love it here, but was diss appointment this time. The chicken-for-2 was very dry and the side had too much salt. We couldn't finish it and it just wasn't enjoyable I'm sorry. The dessert and the wine were spectacular though, and the atmosphere was perfect for Father's Day.
Was meant to be a special anniversary celebration dinner which was ruined by waiting a ridiculously long time between our entree & main course. When our dish for 2 finally arrived after an hour of waiting, it was lukewarm. We complained and were offered to have a new dish prepared which we declined as it was already after 10pm. They apologised and offered our meal to be complimentary which we accepted but it was a disappointing and not the special meal and evening we had anticipated.
I have eaten here many times and never before had such lacklustre service. Also my daughter had small splinters of lamb bone in her pasta and when I let the waitress know I heard nothing back -not even an apology let alone offer of a refund or replacement. I had to ask for my Red wine to be poured into a large glass instead of those on the table that I consider to be for white wine .
Welcomed by a friendly host that directed us to our table which was located by the lit up swimming pool of the hotel.
The waitress welcomed us, took out coats and presented us with the specials that were currently on. They allowed us enough time to decide on out beverages and meals for the night. We didn't have to wait to long for our entrée and inbetween the entrée and main.
As the tables around us filled up the volume was slightly increased but it was still just a relaxing vibe to the restaur
There is an easy welcoming feel to the place. With the nice and friendly maitre d' making us feel at ease walking into the place for the first time.
The food was exquisite. Chef Allan is tremendously talented and skilled sending us such prefectly made and placed food. Then being served by a well presented, attentive and friendly waitress ( she is Polish ... we asked :). )
I will definitely come back to this place!
The restaurant was light and airy overlooking the pool. The food was amazing, service impeccable, albeit a little slow. The 2x baked cheese souffle was the best I've ever had. The crumbed prawns with leek croquet and baby parsnip was delicious. Crispy whiting fillets with tomato consomme and Spanish paprika emulsion and perfectly cooked duck breast rounded off our meals. Delicious! Wine list extensive, pity that the wines by the glass list was small and overpriced.
