Bistro Guillaume - Crown Melbourne
I love this restaurant and go there for special occasions. Took my sister there last night and was dissapointed with the service .Waited a long time for food people at the table served in such a disjointed manner limited to no service never experienced this before.People who came after us served first food when it came felt rushed .
Waited a long time for our attendant to take and serve our drinks order, then waited another while to take food order (had to actually flag the attendant), then had to wait for entree, mains, dessert which took even longer. Food quality was average and not worth the 'premium' tag as advertised by Crown. Attendant was very friendly and lovely but did not make up for the fact that I was expecting a minimum 4 star experience but felt more like a casual dining restaurant. Would not recommend.
Fish slightly overdone, tough! And waited 40 minutes to get the bill. Had to go up and ask for the bill up at the main desk! Entree was lovely but main was a let down! Value for money I would rate 2.5 out of 5
Lovely food, good service & great ambiance.
We had a wonderful meal. Very authentic with lovely wait staff who were helpful and considerate.
We had dinner at the restaurant for the first time and found the level of service excellent and the food promptly delivered and tasty. We will be back.
Food as good as usual. Menu as good as usual. Service team senior staff may need to be reminded that self importance doesn't work as well in Melbourne as in Paris. Happy to explain more in a conversation with the restaurant.
We enjoyed our lunch at Guillaume’s Bistro, the food was delicious and the lunchtime express menu was great value! The atmosphere is very comfortable and the staff are very efficient and pleasant to talk to. I’m Gluten Free and the menu was easily adapted to to suit. The only issue we thought was, it was a little noisy at times, not sure if that can be adjusted, but we will be back!
We had the lunch special, which is great value. However, my husband had the steak and he was underwhelmed and said it was a bit chewy. I had the barramundi, which was delicious, as was the side of broccolini
Forgot dishes and took 2 hours for 'express lunch.' Noted it was a birthday but no mention from waiters or staff.
Authentic French food
Food was delicious, service was great and attentive.
Consistently great food and a lively "French" atmosphere.
I have dined here on numerous occasions, unfortunately this time I was so disappointed with my meal.
I had the Darling Downs Grain Fed Rump Cap, it was so chewy. I left most on my plate as well as the bits I had to spit out.
I would have thought the staff would have said something, guess sometimes its best not ask if you know you wont like the answer.
Bistro G never fails to satisfy with an amazing Menu, great Service and wonderful Yarra River views.

The restaurant was extremely overpriced for the type of food served. $45 for entree seafood soup with a glass of wine sounded great, however five pieces of fish, 3 centimetre in size ordinary in taste was unpleasant surprise. The stake served with French fries in fine dinning was like a meal you get in a Bistro. The Dory was dry and $400 later for 4 people could have paid for a year of food at the local pub. :(

Steak tartare was a great well balanced combination - the potato crisps didn't add to the dish.
The leg on the half Bannockburn chicken managed a slight watery quality of the meat close to the bone but the breast was perfect; what was exceptional was the Paris mash and tarragon jus.
The green salad and dressing was really well done.
The John Dory was a little dry and lacked flavour, so the caper and raisin vinaigrette were necessary to compensate; raw cauliflower slivers did not enhance things.
The food was a good as it always has been. And the waiting staff were generally very good. We had an 8pm booking and I feel we were a little "rushed" by staff towards the end of our meal. Desserts came out within a couple of minutes of ordering. No tea,coffee or dessert wine offered. Staff were busy setting up tables for the next day. We were the last patrons there and left at 10.30pm.
Service was slow, food was expensive for what was served, menu was limited and my lamb was fatty, had to ask for drinks and bread, lovely staff though

A regular restaurant for us and well deserved. It is always good and this time very good. A new menu - which at first I was a little sceptical about, but upon ordering and both of us trying new dishes - we were both delighted. The addition of venison to the menu was very welcome for Autumn and is absolutely perfect. The welcome, service throughout, wine list both by the glass and bottle and the cooking are all splendid. There are quite a few good restaurants in Crown. This is by far my favourite. Happily, it is also the least pretentious. Go. Soon.
Professional and friendly staff, lovely meal and delightful atmosphere. Encountering an odd gentleman in the ladies bathrooom was unusual, strangely no reaction or apology from staff when it was pointed out, which left a poor impression, especially since bathrooms are upstairs and a little isolated in location. We celebrated a family birthday so the restaurant provides a macaroon with candle, a nice touch, thank you. Balanced menu with choices for most tastes and we would return to try other dishes. I wasn't 100% thrilled but a nice evening.

Blue eye Travea was good but portion was TINY.
Had salmon tartare with avocado and the avocados weren’t ripe at all. And also very expensive for a tiny meal.
Friend has chicken which was tasty and also large in size.

Amazing food, fantastic service, the express menu was an affordable way of tasting delicious food and being able to have such a beautiful dining experience.
Whilst the food was absolutely delicious and the overall decor was lovely, the staff killed the experience for me. They were quite arrogant, snobby, didn't smile and a bit rude which made me feel quite uncomfortable to be there. It was also quite hard to get their attention. Not really in a rush to come back any time soon.
Food was great as per usual and is why I return, however the service was the worst I have had it personally. We had to wait quite a while between being seated, to then waiting for desert to be asked etc.
It did seem busy ish but towards the end waiters were walking right past us and completely ignored us, well it seemed that way.
Food was fantastic just want to reintegrate that, if the food was poor it would have been a very grim night for me and her partner as this is her favourite restaurant and this was for her birthday.
Excellent value for money on food had the two course express lunch. Wine however hugely over priced a bottle of Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc at $85/bottle had the exact same bottle at Meat Wine and Co for $68 the next day. Still over price considering it can be found at 25/bottle at Dan Murphy’s. Always happy to pay a little more for wine in a restaurant but common guys over three times the price!!! No tip from me as a result.
This has been our favourite Melbourne restaurant; however the past two visits have been below par and would now not recommend it. The service has declined; the care and finesse of the food is not what it once was. And the manager on the floor does not show empathy or respect. We have been coming here for 10 years. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here a few years ago...but now, I'm afraid we will try somewhere else. Would love to give feedback direct to Brahimi himself.
Ammy and I had a splendid romantic dinner at Bistro Guillaume. I had been at the restaurant for a work function some years back and had been very impressed. This was our first opportunity to go as a couple and Bistro Guillaume hasn't let anything slide at all. The food was exquisite, the staff could not have been more welcoming or more professional. Great wine, great cocktails, lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to go again.
