produce-driven meals in a relaxed, comfortable setting.
Based in Devonport, Tasmania, Bistro Camille brings this philosophy to life using Tasmania's world class produce.
Professional service excellent menu with good range of options. Shared entree and dessert and main meal was well presented and full of flavour. My second visit and would highly recommend this restsurant . Tables kept well apart from each other.
We were recommended to Bistro Camile by a local while passing through Devenport on holidays. On our return trip we booked and stayed at the accompanying motel. While having a drink elsewhere in Devenport we mentioned our choice and two other ptrons spoke highly of Bistro Camile. The evening was outstanding. The food was excellent and the service professional and discreet. It was the highlight of our three weeks in Tasmania and we dined at many restaurants around the state! It was also excellent value for money.
Best restaurant in Devonport 40 years ago and still is!
Great food and atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Been here a few times and highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food and service. Have recommended to all our family and friends.
One of the best meals my partner and I have had since being moving down the north west.
Beautiful food and wondering service, food was very quick to come out too.
Will certainly be back :)
Lovely ambience. Warm, friendly and knowledgeable service. Complimentary appetizer of salmon was sensational. Entree of snails wonderful. Mains were lovely and dessert tasting plate most delightful! We love the strawberry macaroons too served for our special occasion. Overall, a beautiful experience for two interstate travellers.
Takes us back to eating in Paris every time we go! Hidden gem of Devonport. French Bistro style meals with fresh, local ingredients and a french twist.
Amazing. Loved coming here for the second time, just as good as the first. We will be back again for sure 👌🏻
Great service and ambience. Food has been excellent during past visits but our last experience was spoiled by the chef's questionable decision to serve white beans with Trevalla on the specials dish.
We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the friendly, top service of staff. Will definitely return and hopefully fit in one of your delectable desserts.
Always consistently good, its one of our go to restaurants, Thanks
I am a solo woman traveller and was in Tasmania for a short time, I stayed at the adjoining motel and ate at Camille twice.
Every single meal that I tried was a flavour explosion. When the Tart Tartin first hit my taste buds, I actually started to giggle because I felt so happy. I must have looked like a lunatic. I totally spoilt myself with bubbles and 3 courses on both nights. The staff are wonderful and professional and Fletch even came out of the kitchen to chat to me and his enthusiasm and love of ingredients really shines through. I felt good vibes.
I tried things that I normally would not order, like the red wine poached pears with chevre and walnuts, I’m no walnut fan but now I realise that in the right setting and with the right combinations.... I love walnuts!! Who knew?! A sign of a great leader and kitchen staff.
If I were to make any suggestions, it would be to change the porterhouse to eye fillet, I feel there’s less chance of sinewy meat
And although the flavour of eye fillet is less than that of porterhouse, your sauces are all divine and that would make up for it.
Thanks for spoiling a 30 something Mum in need of someone to spoil her.
The only French restaurant in Devonport, rucked away in a motel near the bluff, Bistro Camille serves traditional French dishes in a quiet but rather pedestrian atmosphere. The menu is fairly small, but the dishes are prepared well and delicious. The service is very good for what is, after all, a small regional town and certainly a cut above that received in most Tassie restaurants. The wine list is not extensive but is comprehensive, mainly featuring good Tasmanian wines with a small range of French offerings. It's our comfort station, where we go when we need familiar, hearty food and it never fails to life our spirits.
Great food, great service. A genuine desire to make a special dining experience.
WE had a great night with wonderful food and service
The service was great and the food was outstanding. I hope to be back next time I am in Tasmania.
Great food. Delicious pork belly and beef casorol. Lovely deserts.
Lovely place, beautiful plates, very kind customer service & cosy environment 🤗😊
An excellent evening with friends at this restaurant. The food was of very high quality, absolutely delicious and beautifully-presented. The service was excellent and the surroundings neat, clean and modern. I’ll be back 😊👍
It was lovely to be greeted at the door, even nicer to be remembered though we had only visited once before. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, excellent staff and an efficient but unhurried feel to the place. The complimentary champagne was a lovely surprise. You are our new favourite restaurant! Thank you for making our day out so special.
Very pleasant meal, not outstanding but good value, great service and surrounds
Having been several times before I knew the food and wine was excellent. But on past occasions they struggled with service but this time it was superb. In all an excellent dining experience 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful service and meal. Great catch up with friends who hadn’t caught up in ages. Especially appreciated the complimentary bubbles on arrival.
we had a lovely meal and were appreciative of the welcoming drink of sparkling! thankyou!
Excellent service and food. It’s always a good night out.
The ambience was fine - light and airy.
A reasonable wine list including some French options.
Everyone was happy with their meal.
The staff were accommodating with meeting the diners needs.
The cheeses platter was slightly on the skimpy side - ie - too much greenery and tiny slivers of cheese.
Staff were attentive and knowledgeable.
All in all a very pleasant experience and nice to have a French restaurant locally.
Excellent restaurant in Devonport!!! Very friendly staff and delicious food!
The service was friendly, prices were bad and the food was average.
I come to Devonport just to eat at Bistro Camille. Beautiful food, excellent service.
Waiter was amazing, was on his own, needed more staff, but he coped so well.
Had and an awesome evening, Fantastic service and even better food.
Food was fabulous. Service was slow and unruly children racing around the restaurant diminished the ambience. But purely based on the food I would recommend a visit.
We enjoyed a lovely 2 course meal - we would have loved to try for third course but our bellies were too full. Food was tasty and service very friendly.
Food was delicious and staff very friendly. Will be going back!
Food was good but service was well below usual standards. The better of the waiters looked untidy and the other kept looking at my daughter's breasts when at our table. Totally unacceptable. We had to ask for water and the drinks menu at least twice. For the prices charged the service should be amazing. The restaurant was basically empty besides our table of 6 squeezed next a table of 8. Perhaps our experience explains why there were many less diners than usual. A very disappointing night.
A wonderful dining experience, exceptional food and amazing service! We will definitely be back! Nailed it!
The food and service were amazing. Bistro Camille is a definite must for people going to Devonport.
Other than missing one small part of the order everything was excellent. Greeted at the door with a smile and welcome and departed with a smile and thanks.
We thoroughly enjoyed the total experience. Will definitely return to enjoy other dishes.
