With the fast pace of life we want to make it easier for you. That's why you can order any dish to go or request curbside pickup. The team deliver locally to businesses and private residences.
Throwing a party? No problem! Baldanza and Baldanza Bistro can arrange for a private chef to cook for you and they offer an extensive gourmet catering menu.
Angela was our waitress and was so friendly and helpful. The red snapper, Bolognese and scallops were amazing. We will definitely be back!
AMAZING AS ALWAYS! WE SHARED THE RAVIOLI- OMG! SPECIAL WINE NIGHT WAS GREAT!!
Great quality food and our server (on the back deck) was superior!!! The outside seating is nice but it is a bit too dark at night - they could add some lighting. Otherwise an outstanding experience.
Always a delightful experience and the food never disappoints. Hard to find a restaurant lately where the noise level was just right for conversation. We look forward to getting back soon!
Loved! Fresh food, unique menu items (as well as classics) and a friendly staff
Tasty and creative food - excellent service - quiet setting outside
Baldanza continues to please- great burger and amazing gnocchi. Sarah did a lovely job.
Great menu with lots of luncheon options. Good food and excellent service.
A nice local luncheon restaurant. I'm sure dinner is great as well - just haven't been there yet for dinner.
What a great Father’s Day brunch. There was something on the menu for everyone at out table. It was delicious all around.
Love this place, food is consistently delicious! Owners are very friendly and personable.
One of my stops in the morning is for an amazing croissant from Flour, Water, Salt Bread in Darien. When our Bread basket came out at Baldanza, what a nice surprise that they now serve their Sourdough Bread which is off the charts. Had the filet of sole and the wife had the salmon both were great!
The Best always!! Food and the staff are awesome!!
My second visit was not nearly as good an experience as my first. The food and service were disappointing. After repeated requests for a bread basket refill and Parmesan cheese (which was desperately needed for two orders of very bland cauliflower steak) they both arrived with a slight attitude. The cauliflower steaks were asked to be “well done, extra crispy” and they were prepared the complete opposite... pale and soft. As mentioned above, the dish was under seasoned so I resorted to a few shakes of the table pepper. On the flip side, one guest enjoyed the burger and fries. Sadly, at these prices, I will likely not return.
Chloe, I spoke to the server who had your table and unfortunately his instructions was for the kitchen to do the cauliflower well done and it produced the opposite of what you may have been looking for. Well done vegetables in restaurants refers to slightly overcooking and will result in a soft texture- not what you wanted. Please come in again and ask for Sandy Baldanza and I will make sure its seared in a pan at high temperature and should produce the texture you are looking for.
The service was excellent and the food delicious! Went on a Wed. night and bottles of wine were 1/2 price. What more could you want?!!!
As always the best, on a busy Saturday evening! Only comment why no bar menu?
Great time, great food.
Hands down bistro Baldanza has become the best restaurant in Darien. The food and service are both great. I had the shrimp cocktail and the strip steak, they were as good as the best steak house in the city. My wife had the bistro salad and the swordfish special and she also loved both!
Comfortable place with very good food for lunch. Parking is not easy but doable.
Great local place with the most perfect seafood dishes. The tuna with asparagus is one of the best.
Very expensive for what you get. Decor the same as when it was Estia. Unimaginative menu. Waiter forgot our appetizer but did take 10% off the tab.
Food delicious as always. Service very good. Ambiance romantic.
One of the best meals we've eaten in a long time. Burrata, Halibut special, Tuna AuPoivre. Not a morsel left on our plates. Our server, Angela, was outstanding. We will be back soon - and we will be telling all of our friends.
Very friendly staff, great food and a comfortable setting
Great food, friendly service, overall a pleasant experience.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bistro Baldanza on Valentine's Day. The last time I went to the restaurant the service was very slow and food came out of the kitchen after too long. They have made major improvements. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient and despite the big crowd our meals came out reasonably quickly. My chateaubriand was the best beef dish I have had in recent memory, and my wife loved her halibut. I think that the food at Baldanza may be the best in Darien.
We love the food. Very good quality. Great service and owner is present and very nice.
The food was excellent, when it arrived. They are clearly still working through some timing issues. Our apps (only soup and salads) took a very long time to come out, the timing between first and second courses was perfect however. I thought the quality of the food was excellent, but the service needs to be better to justify the price point.
We had an amazing dinner at Baldanza Bistro. The food was fresh and delicious. The pastas are homemade. Our server was sweet, attentive and kid. The noise level is much lower than most restaurants we go to these days and it was nice to be able to talk without having to raise a voice! A rare venue today!
Enjoyed the food, menu is the same as in New Canaan although none is listed for this location. Halibut entree was very good, as was the sea bass special; burrata appetizer was fresh, lentil soup tasty. Sitting under the vent made for drafts, not particularly comfortable, and service was slow to clear plates, could use some extra help.
We had no qualms at all with the food which seemed very fresh and tasty. The service and length of time it took for the courses to be served was below par, but these are things that they should be able to work on to improve in these areas. Our salads and entrees were well presented and prepared. There are just a handful of desserts which did not sound too exciting so we passed on dessert. We intend to give it another try, but will wait a bit to give them time to get the kinks out.
Nothing changed from previous restaurant - Estia's - except menu and higher prices.
Baldanza in New Canaan is one of my go to restaurants, My wife and I thought bistro Baldanza was amazing as well in a very charming setting. I had the cacio e pepe and the Pork Chop and loved them both. What a great addition to Darien. We expect to be be back soon.
