The Stirling is a great venue that has an interesting menu this time I had the Roast duck it was poorly cooked. I have had many great meals here the Duck should be missed.
Great place to go..Love there meals which are value for money..Atmosphere is great..Staff are very friendly and helpful..Looking forward to my next visit :)
Overall good but not enough staff on. To have to wait in a line for 10-15 mins to oder food is not good enough. The staff were great but it makes it hard for them as well.
Noisy and crowded
Food overpriced for size of dishes
Food was good, staff excellent, atmosphere good. The singer was just too noisy and we had trouble hearing each other at the table. I would go back to the hotel but not when there is entertainment.
Such music is not for dancing and should be barely audible in the background
The food was fine but they did mix up the 3 steaks, the way we ordered only 1 was correct that was very disappointing, and they had only the rump as thay had run out of the other and it was very CHEWY.
Great casual menu, variety of dishes ordered and all were high quality
The staff on New Years Eve were very pleasant and helpful in our request to move to an outdoor table in the Grill. Table service there was excellent.
Good menu with variety. Only thing was our table was next to the order register when there were plenty of other tables we could have used. Overall though quite good.
I had the poached chicken and crab salad. Couldn’t find any crab whatsoever. Salad was dry and poorly dressed with way too much basil and mint. Not a great choice. My son had the chicken parmigiana which looked great
I was disappointed, such a lovely spot, great furnishings and fit out, however the food and service was average all round. The staff clearly don’t want to be working here. Had to ask to have the table wiped certainly not cheery when taking orders or delivering food. The waffles were full of sugar! There are too many restaurants to be average. Could be great if you started serving nicer food and addressed the staffing problem.
The music was so loud we could not even have a conversation and the kids screaming at the other table made it worse the other tables were all shouting to hear each other it was uncomfortable and I could not wait to get out of there !!!
Lovely looking hotel with a great feel. A variety of rooms to enjoy dining or having a drink as well as outside areas. Great food and friendly staff. Stirling is a pretty town - worth taking a walk through the main street after your meal.
Consistent great value for excellent food and very good wine selection overlaid with terrific friendly efficient service.
We are weekly regulars and love it.
Four of us had seniors meal but were charged separately for each serve. Also were charged for something not ordered or delivered. Had to argue with two girls at the cashier desk and after 10 minutes finally they sorted it out after far too much hassle.
Food was good.
after ordering found out the Butchers block special not available. Steak was great but needed a few more vegies in support!
Pretty noisey and the live music didn't help. Maybe the music shouldn't start to until later so people can at least eat in peace.
I have visited The Stirling Hotel on many occasions and I have always been impressed with the food and service.
I was a little apprehensive at the start as there were quite a few people and we had tickets for a show at the theatre but our dinners came out in RAPID speed; even the waitress was impressed with how fast they came out. Our meals were hot and tasty!
Booking was easy and efficient, service was excellent.
Reliable good value tasty food and great choice of wines esp of Adelaide hills. Orange & fennel panna cotta was a wonderful end to a great birthday lunch.
The ambiance at the Stirling hotel was lovely. Whilst acknowledging the view, we found no signage indicating where the hotel was or indeed that we were at the right place until we got out of the car. 3 meals were very pleasant but one of our guests ordered the lamb, was asked how he would like it done to which he replied medium. Half of the lamb was inedible as it was not only roar, it was still bleating! Very disappointing for him as he had really been looking forward to the meal
Was a little disappointed with our visit:
1. One of our entrees didn't arrive - we had to enquire about it twice. In the end we asked for a refund as the mains started arriving!
2. Chips tasted like the oil needed to be changed.
3. 'Special' brisket was not worth the price tag unfortunately.
4. Disappointed in the lack of a vegetarian main course option.
Fantastic food and excellent service! Definitely recommend the Crafers
Fantastic food and wine great spot for Sunday lunch
Food is amazing but No point reserving a seat through website, because it wasn't reserved, shame coz we drove 1.5 hours there to celebrate our anniversary
Outside table would have been better.Very tucked away where we were.Would have liked to be able to book personally by phone not online.Could have asked what the seating arrangements were
Could not really fault anything Tried a Vegan salad although I not Vegan and it was delicious. Great service, lovely ambience. Music a bit loud inside to hear to talk.
Beautifully cooked steak, lovely duck fat roast potatoes - perfection!
Other chips were a bit soggy though.
Awesome experience as always! Was the perfect spot for a girls night out. Great food, great wine and great atmosphere.
As good as the food was, the noise level was unbearable and as soon as we ate we left unfortunately.
A great place to eat. Speedy service. We forgot a meal order and the staff put a rush on the forgotten meal. Brilliant job.
We celebrated my daighter’s birthday here and the staff were so helpful and the food was Divine! Thanks so much!
Our group of 6 were quite disappointed with our meals. 2 of us had the gnocchi Ravi which was quite nice tasting, but the serve was so small we were still hungry after. One had a veg salad, two ordered the salmon and veg which had such a tiny amount of veg underneath the fish they were very surprised at the small serve. One ordered grilled fish and salad which never arrived and we had to chase it up. Apparently it had been sitting out in the kitchen and no staff brought it out. The group had all finished their mains before it arrived and the fish was all broken up into pieces possibly reheated so my friend didn’t eat it. Overall very disappointing with the meal sizes and service 👎
We had a lovely lunch with friends, we asked for a quiet spot, and were really please with our table ( I know this is not easy with lots of bookings, so were really pleased with the effort made to accommodate us. ) Our waitress was one of the best we have ever had, ( and we do eat out often) - I am sorry that I didn't get her name, but her knowledge of the menu and her lovely smile, made it a very pleasant experience.
( She told us that she was married last November, and she wears her rings on a chain around her neck)
We will be back soon, thankyou.
We must have gone in the busiest day, yes it was a holiday Monday we were told the food was an hour wait, ok deal with it the place is busy. Staff were courteous and apologised for extended wait but when steaks arrived one was still walking and the other just passed even though both were ordered medium done. Seafood that other two diners ordered were perfect. Just a little disappointed as this was our first time to dune here.
The bistro area is comfy and the food is good pub food, but the NOISE!!! It hits you as soon as you walk in the doors! Five of us met for dinner and a good catch up with an interstate friend. It was really hard to have a conversation, and by about 8pm when the volume of the live singer was cranked up it was impossible to talk to even the person next to you without shouting. We are all in our 40's, not old or deaf, but it was very annoying not to be able to have a decent conversation. After we ate, I asked if there was anywhere quieter to sit for coffee and a very helpful waitress showed us to a room beside the 'Library' which was quieter and much better for conversation, although the piped music was still a few notches too loud.
Pros: The staff were all lovely, the menu good, and the coffee good.
Cons: The food took an hour to arrive (despite a sign advising of a 25 minute wait), and the noise level was really over the top. People go to pubs and out for meals to TALK to one another, not shout at each other.
Lovely spot for a girls lunch. Because it was Friday and very busy we were warned of the 35 min wait. That was helpful.
The food was fine but didn't arrive at the table all at the same time (6 of us). My friends had all pretty much finished their meals by the time my husband and I got ours. The food was generally very good - I just picked something I should have known would be too heavy/rich for me (salmon - my fault). Also, my husband's meal was $33 and he left hungry.
We have been regular visitors to the "Stirlo" for a couple of years and really enjoyed sitting outside on a warm summer night enjoying a meal and beer however the last few trips to the the Bistro have been less than ideal. Way too many people crammed in to a small space, loud football, netball teams in full swing. Kids running around and hiding from their parents under our table. Old mate on the table next to us who was trying to cough up a lung every 20 seconds....for the whole time we were there! Having to yell our order to the staff behind the bar because it was that loud. A bit disappointed in the roast too. Not a single roast potato and the only veggies were asparagus and some other unidentifiable orange thing. Needless to say we were out of there as soon as we finished eating. Will try again in summer but how keeping the pub menu simple? Save the fancy hipster stuff for inside.
