Bissell Brothers is a family-owned and operated brewery & hospitality destination on Thompson’s Point, just five minutes from downtown Portland, Maine. Alongside our award-winning craft beer, Bissell Brothers Kitchen offers creative, seasonal American cuisine, thoughtfully prepared from the finest local ingredients.                     The hostess was amazing. It was family feud night and she made it clear how noisy it would be in the regular seating area and suggested we sit in the bar area instead which was perfect. The bartender was friendly and the food and drinks were really good. Wouldn’t expect anything else from these guys!

                    The food was surprisingly good. I was expecting the beer to be the star of the show, but the food was really great, especially the chicken avocado sandwich and the hummus platter. The buffalo wings were the spiciest I’ve ever had - honestly, a bit too spicy, but the flavor profile was right. The downside is the pricing. A $17 chicken sandwich that doesn’t include a side of fries or chips is kind of crazy. I don’t even see pricing like that in NYC. They should include a small side or make the fries $2 as an add-on instead of $7.

                    Great food, cool vibe, awesome ambience. We went as a pit stop on the way to Orono. The maple chicken sandwich was delicious! Mae, our server, was very friendly and attentive.

                    There were seven people in our party, and everyone loved their lunch. Some of us got the Baja Chicken Sandwich, others the Classic Chicken Sandwich, and the rest the Caprese Sandwich. The tomatoes on the Caprese Sandwiches were unbelievably delicious; those who got the chicken sandwiches wished they had asked if they could add tomato to their sandwiches. Bissell Brothers is so conveniently located near the Portland Transportation Center for those traveling to Portland, ME, by bus or train.

                    We reserved the mezzanine space for a private party and it was ideal for our group of 20. Up to 25 would work, beyond that it would feel crowded. Food is solidly good and service was quick. Price for the space itself was a bit steep without any food included, but the space was very nice and private, without feeling like being sequestered in an enclosed space off to the side. Service and staff were super helpful and knowledgeable about all the brews and always ready to offer a taste of anything requested.

                    $16-18 for a burger with no fries, attempted to charge for 2x chicken tenders after bringing us a chicken tender that was COATED in salt. Beer was good, the burger was good. No apologies. Won’t be back.
