Situated at basement level off Adelaide Street, in the heart of the Brisbane CBD, we serve as a sanctuary away from the hustle of the city where you can sit amongst a vast collection of First Nations art and artefacts, whilst enjoying delicious food, coffee, specialised non-alcoholic beers as well as a selection of boutique reds, whites, sparkles, ciders, and ales.

Our café is nestled in the heart of gallery boasting menus that are heavily influenced by bush tucker and indigenous cuisine. We utilise fresh and native ingredients to deliver modern twists on cultural classics, packed full of unique flavours. We serve breakfast and lunch every weekday from 7am to 3pm, and dinner every Thursday and Friday from 5pm.

With the quality of food and service it deserved to be a lot busier. The art hanging on the wall was high quality and added interest to our event. We will certainly be back.

                                                                      Birrunga is a hidden gem, and a unique experience, you will not forget. The food is always is fabulous, and the team are so friendly and polite. Being able to eat your meal surrounded by Indigenous art is great experience. Everyone should try it at least once.

I had a call confirming my booking the day before and I was called on the day to explain that there was a problem with the kitchen for big orders - this did not bother us at all as we were going for lunch and were planning to order individual meals.

                                                                      A hidden gem in the CBD! It's an amazing feeling to sit amongst incredible artwork while you enjoy your lunch. The kangaroo burger had some interesting flavours, without straying too far from what you might think a burger should taste like, but be warned, it's big! The patty is very thick and juicy and the chips were delicious.

                                                                      We used to dine there regularly up until about 8 months ago when food quality went off (uncooked or poor quality ) had stayed away, but decided to give restaurant another try was very happy with food (not back to original quality ie salads used to be wonderful and very interesting ) but we all enjoyed our lunch and will certainly be back service was great

                                                                      Fantastic food and terrific environment for a quite meal or a team meeting. I took my team there for a meeting and it was just terrific. The staff organised a space for us that was separate from the rest of the restaurant and that worked brilliantly. All round a sensational experience!
