Bartenders and drinks were great. Food was good too but they were out of a lot of options by the time we got there
I was sorry to find out that you no longer make the Ricotta pancakes and breakfast sausage for brunch, really disappointed. You should keep it on the menu!
Awesome! Get the oysters! Duck breast and steel head trout were delicious.
Binnekill Tavern has an excellent menu, a casual elegant atmosphere and a hospitable team. Chef Bryan’s menu selections reflect the changing seasons of the Catskills and always feature a variety of locally sourced items. Binnekill Tavern’s wine & beer selections are tastefully curated and their specialty cocktails by Dennis are outstanding. We feel confident each time we bring friends, loved ones and business guests to enjoy dinner and drinks at Binnekill.
My husband and I had the privilege of hosting our 25th wedding anniversary reception at Binnekill Tavern recently, and can testify to their attention to detail, quality meals and excellent service for 60+ people.
Waitress was terrible, inattentive and busy socializing.
Came for the pork belly...they were all out
Curtis and Dennis aim to please !
Great place in Margaretville. The pork belly appetizer is amazing. Sat in the dining room next to the fire. Specials - braised lamb shank and duck - were amazing and very large portion. Port schnitzel was solid as always. Will need to sit in bar area next time and sample the bar menu.
We love Binnekill. Always a great meal and excellent service!
Wonderful!!! Great atmosphere. Amazing food! Been there twice and look forward to upcoming visits!
I go to the Binnekill often and I’m never disappointed. I sense from the front of house staff to the kitchen a sincere desire to please and if ever anything is not to your pleasure, a remedy is at hand without question. The food is creative without being fussy and the flavors astounding. A gift to our community.
This was the second time we’ve eaten at Binnekill. The first time our meal was outstanding. This time it was not as enjoyable as the first. Some items were delicious where other items like the shrimp and grits were not as good. The red sauce on the dish was off putting and not what the menu described, it was more like a marinara sauce to me. But I prefer a traditional shrimp and grits sauce, so in fairness it’s a matter of taste. I will just not order it again. Love the Smoke Trout Salad, Crispy Pork Belly and Schnitzel. It was also nice that they have Gluten Free options and are careful not to cross contaminate.
Our waitress was polite and attentive and made sure all our food came out without long waits and everything was hot. She checked in with us to make sure everything was to our liking and to see if we needed anything. Our favorite part of the restaurant is Dennis the head bartender. He is a master at his craft and all his libations are imaginative and delicious. He is also very friendly and attentive. We love sitting at the bar and talking with him and Bobby (who we will miss but wish him great success in his new endeavors. Kurt the new bartender is wonderful as well. Overall we enjoy the restaurant and we will be back to Binnekill Tavern.
Pumpkin martini was outrageously good. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops with corn relish; husband had jump shrimp cocktail. Both fresh. For the entrees, we had the vegetable dish with goat cheese and pork schnitzel. May have been the best pork we have ever tasted. It is a little pricy; but you do get what you pay for. Can’t wait to go back.
Shrimp and grits with poached eggs entree for brunch was sublime! Only regrets were that no tomato juice was available for a Bloody Mary!
Lovely rustic decor and fireplace with a nice size bar. Can imagine it as a go to place especially in Winter. Appreciated they had a special the night I dined there - all proceeds of a prix fixed dinner was going to the local fire dept, which I selected. I thought the food was excellent, and the extensive menu was so appealing. A house special cocktail was very good. Great service, too often hard to find in country restaurants.
Great food and prompt service. Warm and inviting atmosphere. A very happening place in Margaretville.
We had a nice time. Our waitress did not know how to pronounce foods that we ordered. She seemed to talk to people she was familiar with people she didn’t know.
The people next to us were lovely, we enjoyed the ambience and we would go back
Another enjoyable evening at Binekill Tavern. Nice vegetarian options and upscale menu selections. We enjoy sitting at the bar and feeling part of the local community. Dennis is a generous and capable bartender/owner and works hard at making his guests comfortable.
A bit noisy even when not at full capacity. We will definitely be back. Already repeat customers and we leave satisfied.
Food was very well prepared and had a unique flair. The cocktails were excellent and well conjured. Service was friendly, helpful and prompt. It exceeded my expectations. We’ll go back.
The noise level is overwhelming and has been a point of contention since the new owners opened. We would dine here weekly except for the noise. As it is we try to pick evenings where we can eat outside as it is better to put up with the mosquito's on the deck rather than the noise inside. We like the food and the staff is usually very polite and professional.
Unusually high food quality here, with great outdoor seating, and an especially congenial atmosphere. Glad we didn't pass this place up.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. We had shrimp cocktail - 6 huge shrimp - firm and tender. We also tried the pork belly appetizer which was awesome. We had lamb meatloaf and NY strip steak. Both were delicious, perfectly prepared and presented. Nice wines by the glass, great meal choices for everyone, reasonable price points and great service. Can't go wrong - definitely the best meal we had during our five night stay at the amazing Roxbury Motel! We will absolutely be back on our next trip - probably every night - just that good!
2nd time dining at Binnekill since it reopened. Recommend reservations on weekend or during Catskills events. Hostess greeted us warmly and promptly seated our part of 4. Wait staff immediately greeted us and took drink orders and reviewed daily special. Drinks arrived quickly. Nice bottle of Chianti reasonably priced. The bartender is AMAZING!! Highly recommend any house featured cocktail. 2 in our party ordered “Daily Specials” and 2 ordered off the menu. Staff brought warm bread and butter. Appetizers were served quickly and were VERY tasty!! The food was prepared excellent and was served that allowed the meal to flow very nicely. All the food was outstanding!!!! We passed on the dessert but the menu looked very enticing. Highly recommend the Binnekill. As FYI outside dining was also available on the side deck.
Superb food; creative as well as comfort choices. Excellent service.
Best shrimp and grits ever! Pesto, meatloaf and all appetizers are top notch. Drinks are killer. Staff rocks!
The service was very nice and friendly. The cocktails and food were delicious and unique. Everything was so fresh. We ate outside as the inside was too cold with the air conditioning and the ambiance inside could be a little "warmer". All in all a lovely dinner. Thank you.
Great food. Wonderful service.
Looking forward to returning
My group was treated wonderfully by the servers and the bartender. The experience could not have been better.
First time trying the Tavern. Food was surprisingly fabulous and tasty. Sat outside on a beautiful evening. Service was great, waitress was friendly. My friend had the schnitzel and it was crispy and delicious. My fish dish was tasty. We had a couple of cocktails and the bill was $100 bucks. I would go back especially on their special menu nights.
This was my second, and last, visit. Both times I found the wait staff unprofessional...standing right near my table and talking among themselves like I didn't exist. They also had to be asked twice to bring some bread while we waited. The worst part was that I ordered lamb meatloaf, which was burned black on one side, but turned over to hide that fact, which, of course, was evident from the first bite.
Food was very good. Service is very slow and front end staff are clueless. Instead of having three people at the front, they should have one good host. If you're not in a hurry then give this place a try only for the food.
the noise level prohibited relaxed dining. Fortunately there was one table outside, on a hot, humid, rainy evening that allowed us to escape the noise. Had there not been that table we would have left and gone someplace else. The management is aware of this problem but continues to ignore it. Bad business.
I went over 4th of July weekend, and the restaurant was packed. The servers were completely overwhelmed. We waited nearly 1/2 hr for a drink. I would love to try again on a regular weekend. That said, the food was very good.
Great food and great service!
Food great. Service great. Attention to patrons great. NOISE LEVEL PUNISHING.
Difficult to enjoy a relaxing dinner w noise level. Acoustics need serious attention.
Loved it. We will definitely be back and it’s an 1 1/2 hr drive. The strawberry rhubarb cobbler was to die for. The location over the creek is charming.
Nice bar, great designer cocktails, (extensive wine list), good food, ate outside on a covered deck over the Binnekill Stream, over all a wonderful experience and value.
Always a good meal and friendly service. Great bartender.
The entire dining experience would be enhanced if the new owners RESTORED some of the sound deadening material and partitions that existed before. We have mentioned to the new owner how difficult EVERYONE (who meets us there) finds it to have normal conversation.
Good food and friendly staff, as well as a great view of the river and hills.
This is a lovely setting, with delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommend!
