Bill's Restaurant & Bar - Liverpool
Food was cold, service wasn’t great, taking plates before people had finished reaching over people still eating. Bacon was disgusting and mushrooms tasted really strange.
Myself and my husband booked bills for lunch and drinks came highly recommended from my mum lunch was delicious cocktail drinks were half price we sat outside and enjoyed it very much staff were friendly polite there was a good atmosphere will be going again very soon
Quality of the food is always excellent and there are always healthy options. Cocktail was lovely too and it was very COVID safe indoors. I love going to Bill’s!
Table outside, staff happy to move us to a different table after our request, clean table and socially distanced.
Table booked at 11, we waited 20 mins to be served for a drink/ Tea, and we had to get a waiter to be served!
Then took ages for our meal to arrive and had to ask a waiter where our food was?
Food got delivered to wrong table.
We only went for breakfast and pots of tea.
Food was cold. Also asked for 5 stack pancake and was only given 3. Very slow service even to get our drinks, which was juice. Woudlnt recommend.
Overall very pleasant .vegan breakfast could have been a little more bulky. The hummus and acacado were both spread too thinly .
This visit did not reflect the experiences we had previously enjoyed. Very disappointing. It is very difficult post-lockdown, however, we expected better than this.
We were met by a member of staff who informed us that their card machine wasn't working - fine we had to pay cash. A bit of a 'snotty' welcome n'est pas?
A much reduced menu; so much so that we had difficulty choosing what we would like.
When the food arrived, it was less than appetising - a cold concoction piled on top of two tasteless pieces of fish all covering a mushy potato effort.
It was surprising that many tables were empty - not what we have previously experienced.
When the bill arrived 'a discretionary 12.5% service charge had been added - not warrantied in our opinion - credit where credit is due, but not on this occasion.
We got glassed of Prosecco as it was our anniversary, this was a lovely surprise. Food was very tasty and perfect portion sizes. Our server Freya was very friendly, welcoming, and smiley even through the mask! Would definitely come here again
The staff were great. The only issue was not being able to pay by card. Had to go and find a cash machine to pay which wasn’t ideal.
Service awful 30 mins to be served whilst others were being served. Table dirty. Tables so close together no social distancing. Cutlery dirty. Have taken photos abs will be reporting
Thought the ambience of the restaurant was good. When brunch was delivered one of the portions was very small compared to others. We asked for extra portion of sausage and one sausage came. A portion of bacon was 2 tiny slices of streaky. Not worth the money. One of waitresses dropped tray of mimosas onto my husband and it was a genuine accident but he had to pay for the one they replaced it with. Not greatest customer service
Good table service and nice food, even for Kids. I highly recommend this restaurant
Very family friendly. Great kids menu and yummy breakfast
Bad service from wait staff, didn’t tell us items would be missing from order before ordering and still charged full price also brought 2 different orders to us that were wrong
I got the Bills brunch and the toast was cold. The rest of the breakfast is lukewarm. One staff member kept coming to the table and did not engage in any conversation which was odd. Service charge automatically added to the bill, which was not appreciated as the service was mediocre. Use to be one of my favourite breakfast spots, not in a hurry to return.
The worst service I have ever experienced. Asked for our order three times in five minutes after we explained we needed some time to read the menu. Then our mains were brought out twice, before we had finished our starters! Warm white wine and toilets that could have been cleaner. Avoid.
We had the best time! I am very anxious about Covid and I was made to feel safe & comfortable the whole time!! It was perfect:)
Service was very slow, we were waiting in total 1 hour and a half for dinner, it didn’t seem that busy. We were told we would be waiting 30 minutes. They added £7.95 as a service charge but we didn’t see that as appropriate and left a tip of £4.00, nice food when arrived.
We waited ages on the food which was absolutely terrible. I mean how can you go wrong with a Caesar Salad, lettuce wet, no dressing or Parmesan. The good thing about it was 2 absolutely excellent waitresses and I wish I took their name as outstanding service and having to take the flack for a badly organised chef/kitchen staff. Really disappointing for Bills
ran out of vegan burger (pretty much their only entirely vegan meal), ordered halloumi fries and long stem broccoli and chips, my girlfriend ordered mac & cheese & it took an hour. my food was cold, broccoli was raw. got normal coke instead of diet, waited 45 minutes for the waitress to bring a cheque and in the mean time no one had checked on us.
Always loved Bills but won’t be going back anytime soon. The food was awful, my sons burger was like charcoal.
The meal was spoiled as my sisters meal had very sharp quite large splinters in the chicken from a charred wooden skewer. These were discovered after she had eaten most of the salad before starting on the chicken. Promised some focaccia bread ( didn’t want a replacement meal as I had nearly eaten mine and we didn’t have time to wait). Bread never came so felt the apology a bit lacking in sincerity and took a while for manager to appear both times we asked for them. Price of meal taken off.
Shame as food was lovely apart from that and service otherwise very good and nice ambience.
Will give it another chance as appreciate restaurants having a hard time getting back on their feet and up to pre pandemic efficiency. This could have been quite serious though. If my sister had swallowed the splinter it could have caused some nasty damage.
Very busy service….took about 29 minutes to get a drink so service was slow overall. Tea for 2 should have 2 teabags not 1….you are paying for 2.
Food overall good had to ask for more butter for toast..love Bills though despite this and will return
Poor service worse food........................... waiting staff need training
Good good, slow service - which I do understand with Covid but slower than other places
Arrived early, my mistake but still able to be seated. Service was very good and food was amazing. Great value for money too
love going to Bill’s as food tastes amazing, staff are really lovely and it’s priced well. little slow at being attended to order and receiving food however was a busy hour so it’s understandable.
Good menu, nice vibe to the restaurant. Just watch out for added service charge
Great all round just took a while for the desserts to come out other than that it was fantastic
Beat gluten free breakfast I’ve ever tasted. And my daughter loved the pancakes. The smoothies are soo good too.
Went to bills in Liverpool based on past positive experience with other franchises. First chicken burger served to me was hard, woody and I struggled to chew through it. After reporting back to my waitress the manager assured me there was nothing wrong with the way it had been cooked and more to do with the kind of chicken they get from their suppliers. Making a mistake and correcting it is fine but he denied fault. Anyway he offered to replace the burger. The second burger was a lot warmer, this leads me to believe that the first burger I ordered had been sitting for quite some time. The second burger was somewhat more edible but by time it had come my partner had finished his meal and was waiting for me. We reported back to the waitress who suggested she’d talk to the manager and take it off the bill. Instead they deduct one drink and tell me that they know better as they have been working there for x amount years. Clearly they do not as as a customer I am leaving their restaurant dissatisfied, I am only in Liverpool for three days and they have ruined 1/3 of my opportunities to have a nice meal.
Would have liked more vegan options on the lunch/dinner menu
20 minutes after ordering I was advised my drink was unavailable. Took a further 10 minutes to get the alternative ordered. Overall about 45 minute wait for the food that was dried up as if sat under a hot plate for some time!!
Will not return.
Great food, nice service & cute atmosphere! Really friendly staff as well.
We were really looking forward to going to Bills, unfortunately it was disappointing.
People were turned away even though the indoor area was very quiet.
The food took a long time to come out and was only warm on arrival.
A lot of the smoothies on the menu were out of stock.
For a fairly expensive breakfast you would expect a little more.
You couldn’t fault the friendliness and service of the staff, they were all lovely and friendly.
Food was lovely and loved the experience but felt sorry for the staff member who kept getting shouted out infront of customers
Such a shame to write this. My mother and I have always loved doing here when in Liverpool. This time wasn’t good at all. In fact, it was so bad that we cancelled our breakfast reservation for the following morning and went elsewhere! We were left waiting to be seated for ages - staff looked over but no one came to help us. I work in health care so was shocked when someone eventually came over and asked to take our temperature - he didn’t do it properly and he only checked the temperatures of some customers - we watched him let several groups in after us without checking. Why? He also wasn’t very welcoming - it didn’t feel like a nice hospitality experience. Most staff either weren’t wearing a mask or wore it beneath their noses. The food was ok, nothing special like it has been before. My butter was completely melted when it was delivered to the table - surely someone should have spotted that and put a fresh bowl of butter so that I could have spread it on my toast! No one came back to ask how we were and we couldn’t catch anyone’s eye to tell them. The price was ridiculous for the quality of the food. £54 for 2 breakfasts (one was missing some items and had melted butter), 2 coffees, 2 juices, extra toast and jam, and 2 Buck’s Fizz. It’s the first time I’ve added a Bill up to check the cost! Go to Browns up the street - much nicer, better service, and cheaper! I wish we had gone there on this occasion too. Sorry Bills, we won’t be back. Your service has massively gone downhill, your covid secure processes are extremely poor, and your hospitality is non existent. Bye.
Brilliant breakfast! Enjoyed being able to eat outside in the sunshine.
Food was good but service slow. Only had 2 servers working and apparently one chef. So slow service not the fault of those working .
