Billie H. Ratings and Reviews
Read excellent reviews of Billie H. so looking forward to visit. Liked the appearance of the restaurant, the service was attentive and knowledgeable, however the food was quite bland. Our main issue however was the way a complaint about overcooked salmon was dealt with (or not). As we were leaving the owner?manager came up to chat with us . As he appeared to have a very hands-on role in the restaurant we thought he might have known about our issue, obviously not and we left feeling as though we weren't valued as customers. We wondered if the restaurant was using it's secondary chef during the Xmas break period and suggest they should try the pannacotta at Manuka Wood-fired Kitchen as an exemplar. We were disappointed because we would have loved the restaurant to be one of our local go-tos.
We've heard that Perth doesn't have a lot of really great restaurants in Perth but Billie H proves that wrong! The food was delicious, each dish with it's own unique and full flavour, various accents dancing on my tongue! Loved the service, the vibe of a cool Jazz bar was great and I only wish that we'd all been a lot more hungry and we'd have tried more of the delicious menu options. This is tapas done right - highly recommend it.
Went as a result of a good review in "The West" and the food lived up to the review, very good, really good! Great service. Found it a tad noisy and dark at the table, but friendly waitress move a lamp for us, we are of the "older age group" so suspect the noise wouldn't bother younger age groups.
A quiet Wednesday night after Melbourne Cup so was wonderful. Not too busy. Staff turned music down for us, too loud, had one end of restaurant to ourselves with attentive staff and service. Wine very expensive : was half our bill!! Food was delicious, however plate sizes small when sharing. 5 of us at table, 4 asparagus on plate. Would have been thoughtful to add another one! An enjoyable meal.
We are from Geraldton and it was first date night away together from our 3 year old son. We wanted somewhere nice with soft ambience , different cuisine, but not too tossy. The food was creative, healthy and diverse, the wine list complimentary and the service excellent.
Read the reviews but we weren't quite sure what to expect. The place was certainly buzzing on a Thursday night (late night shopping) and actually quite noisy. Once the bloke and I retreated outside, though, peace was restored and we were able to appreciate the attractive setting and decor. The host was affable, charming and knowledgeable and the dishes he recommended utterly decadent and delicious, as was the wine. All in all, a most agreeable experience and we will certainly be back soon.
It was the noisiest restaurant I have ever been to. Even if you're not there to have some chats the noise is just annoying and spoilt the evening. The food while is quite out of the ordinary, is not something one would rave about. Would I go back again? No. It is just not the place for an enjoyable evening over food.
My most highly rated Resturant around at the moment.
Fresh ingredients always.
Wine list of quality and not overpriced.
Staff is always friendly and efficient without being annoying.
I have not anything to complain about...it is busy and a little noisy.
Which creates a pleasant ambience.
Billie H's food is fantastic -- always delicious, always innovative.
The waiter recognised us from our lunch there several months ago, even remembering some of the dishes we ordered. Her service is perfect: recommending things, filling glasses, but not being obtrusive; and her smile is dazzling and genuine.
Love the fact the kitchen is run by a woman who refuses to allow any of the traditionally accepted male bullying and bad behavior in her domain.
All the staff seem happy.
Beautiful tulips on the tables an added bonus.
See you again very soon.
Great food, wine, atmosphere and service.
It would have been awesome had it not been for a couple of inconsiderate idiots at the next table but not something the staff could really do anything about.
That said, a thoroughly enjoyable evening ... I will definitely be back!
It was refreshing to experience such quality food presented and cooked with care but no pretension .
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly ,a little problem with the noise of a crowded lunch time but settled as we stayed a long time .
thank you for making a special celebration memorable .
