Very noisy ,no soft furnishings to absorb sound. Table of 8 middle aged patrons sat behind us were very loud and inconsiderate of other diners.
Food was average at best, not even up to casual bistro level. More chain cafe type food.
Sorry we won't be back.
Great meal and experience at Billie H. Looking forward to heading back there again soon. The smoked Kipfler potatoes are a must have!
Great service, food, wine, ambience!! I simply cannot fault this spot. LOVE the carpaccio and the oysters and chorizo are a must!!!!
best spot in Perth! Thanks team
We went to Billie H to celebrate my friends birthday. It was wonderful, the staff, the food ,wine and the ambience are fantastic. Highly recommended.
A great evening - fantastic service, great food and a supurb wine list.
Ok, so after a slight glitch with the booking (made online) upon arrival, all was quickly forgiven and forgotten. A smiling and apologetic staff member offered my guest and I a lovely table, exactly where I had requested; somewhere warm. No issue anyway because the restaurant was heated throughout.
The menu and wine list invite questions, and those questions were answered by a conga line of staff armed with product knowledge and helpful suggestions. Nothing was a problem, and our water glasses always remained topped up. A choice of still or carbonated was offered from the get go.
The place oozes professionalism, calm and charm from staff who are refreshingly focused on customer comfort and dining experience.
In spite of a busy Saturday evening, our selections were served promptly and efficently, looked great on the plate and they were delicious. Blossom granita oysters, carpaccio of fish, honey grilled chorizo and the beetroot with the ash mayo. That, along with our Victorian Pinot did the trick.
We, along with our fellow diners who we had interacted with spontaneously throughout the evening due to the intimate and close proximity of the floor plan were served a complimentary dessert. At least I think it was complimentary. I didn't check the bill but the overall experience backed up by the service was certainly deserving of the gratuity. So a big tick, a big thank you, and see you again soon!
Food was a little expensive based on how much food was on the plate. The flat iron steak was delicious
Haven't been there for a little while but the food was awesome once again, especially the desserts! Service was attentive and pleasant but food did take a while to come out though they were busy
Our waitperson Irena was amazingly helpful and professional. Our booking was for 10 but we ended up with 13 people and they accomodated is without issue
We live in the neighbourhood and will definitely frequent BillieH more often.
Been here a few times. Food the best yet with great service and great vibe!
Tapas was great, mains were a let down. In particular the 'risotto'?
The beef was also quite tough, cooked well, but stringy and hard to eat.
The Tapas was delicious and we will give it another go.
Excellent food and impeccable service. We had a delightful evening.
Atmosphere and general vibe is great, service very friendly and professional. Needs one or two more champagnes on the list though.
Would highly recommend to all but not with kids.
We ate dinner at Billie H in a Saturday night to belatedly celebrate a wedding anniversary. Our table for two was inside where it was cosy, vibrant but rather too noisy for us so we were moved to an outside table without fuss. It was a lovely calm evening and the covered outdoor section was warmed by wall-mounted heaters so we were very comfortable. (It would have been less so on a wet, windy night!)
The service was friendly and helpful and the food arrived in timely fashion.
We enjoyed a shared entree of 3 large fresh local Rottnest prawns...only available twice a year!
This was followed by a generous dish of delicious smoked mushrooms with goat curd.
Sour dough bread was available to soak up the juices but we opted for a potato side dish to go with a Porterhouse main course of sliced flavoursome beef in an Asian-inspired sweet/sour/salty sauce that complemented the barbecued meat.
I couldn’t go past dessert and was very happy with the poached pear, Mille feuille and vanilla ice cream.
We ordered a very pleasant Manjimup pinot noir and delicious Single File sparkling wine by the glass to accompany our very enjoyable meal.
We will return!
Had a really nice dinner here in the weekend. The food and service were really great but it is so bad value for money it’s hard to believe. The special was Rottnest island prawns for $18. There were 3 tiny prawns.
Perth is crazy expensive and poor value but this place take it to a new level. Such a shame because they have most of it right.
Not rushing back despite the delish food.
Unpretentious, relaxed, polished. Dan sets the tone for a restaurant with seriously great service, food and wine. The professionalism shown by the experienced staff is hard to come by in Perth where you're often treated as an inconvenience. The food hits a high note with exciting flavours and combinations without being obscure. And the wine is a reflection of Dan's depth of knowledge - his recommendations are spot on and delivered with the enthusiasm of a true wine lover
Great service, fabulous food, and worthy wine list. We were looking for an unpretentious restaurant for a date night, and came across several reviews touting Billie H. It was a 15 minute Uber ride from CBD, and tucked away in a non-descript building. The menu options are tight, but there’s something for everyone. The hickory-smoked mushrooms with goat curd is a must-try, as are the oysters with granita and fish carpaccio. For mains, the pork was outstanding with the side of potatoes. But the steak with kecap manis came cold, but the team was quick to rectify that. We also tried their homemade sourdough baguettes, which we were told is something they just started doing 2 weeks ago. The wine list was great, and the by-glass options went superbly with the food. We would be back for sure.
Lovely food but small sized dishes for the price.
Great service. Friendly staff who had good knowledge of menu.
Food came quickly.
I would recommend it but I could not afford to go very often.
Tables too close. Difficult to have conversation with table of four too close to our table.
Overall a lovely evening.
Probably the best restaurant I have eaten at. Food is amazing, service is amazing and the ambiance is amazing.
Have had a beautiful lunch here about a month ago, so decided to have an evening business meeting here. We had a light meal and a glass of red each. Thank you to Daniel who told us about the wine, and it was brilliant. The food was yummy and there wasn't a long wait for the meals to arrive. Service was prompt and friendly without being in-your-face. Definitely coming back here again.
I've never had a disappointing meal at Billie H, the food, wine and service is always impressive.
Another really great meal at this restaurant. 👍🏻
We had a great meal, trying a bit of everything. The mushrooms with goats curd was really good and kingfish carpaccio was amazing. The atmosphere is romantic but relaxed with a cool vibe.
The service was the best we've had in Perth for a long time - prompt, knowledgeable and friendly.
My only minor criticism was that we ordered white wine by the glass and it was a bit cold - still a first world problem!
The food was delicious and the wait staff very efficient, all in all a very nice evening.
my husband and I loved every minute at Billie H. This was our first visit. It was such a delight.
The service we received was impeccable. The food was exactly to our liking. We drank wine by the glass which was a brilliant choice with our selection of plates. We had oysters, fremantle sardines, king fish carpaccio, deviled livers and stilton cheese. The plates were bought out with perfect timing. A nice touch was continuous sparkling water delivered without needing to ask. Our waitress spent a lot of time with us answering our questions about the food and giving wine suggestions.
Her service is something to write about - the whole team seemed to worked together very well. Can't write enough good things about our experience at Billie H on Friday night, 6th April.
Superb food and service. Inventive and favoursome food. Service was spot on.. professional, attentive and friendly. Toilets very clean and neat.
Amazing food, atmosphere and service. A favorite any time.
Billie H hit the spot on all levels for us. Great staff and service, creative menu and faultless food.
The atmosphere is also wonderful, all be it a little dark for those more mature diners.
A terrific place to dine.
Fabulous but the lighting was really dim and we had to shine a light on our food to be able to enjoy the full effect. Such delicious food and very well-presented but we couldn't see it!!
Wonderful food , with some innovative dishes.
The service was very professional and well delivered.
The whole evening was a real joy.
From the friendly service to the delicious wine, it was all good. All four of us were impressed!
Tasty well seasoned food. Perhaps a bit overpriced for the quantity of food but was enjoyable.
Just as good as ever. Excellent service. Very good food.
Great service, good wine knowledge and fantastic food. Had the king fish carpaccio and the duck. The wife had the oysters and the steak. Best oysters she has ever had and that is a big call for her. The Rose was good as well.
We will definitely be back.
Food was nice. Service great. Wine list far to expensive. Not sure I’d rush back
Read excellent reviews of Billie H. so looking forward to visit. Liked the appearance of the restaurant, the service was attentive and knowledgeable, however the food was quite bland. Our main issue however was the way a complaint about overcooked salmon was dealt with (or not). As we were leaving the owner?manager came up to chat with us . As he appeared to have a very hands-on role in the restaurant we thought he might have known about our issue, obviously not and we left feeling as though we weren't valued as customers. We wondered if the restaurant was using it's secondary chef during the Xmas break period and suggest they should try the pannacotta at Manuka Wood-fired Kitchen as an exemplar. We were disappointed because we would have loved the restaurant to be one of our local go-tos.
Music was too loud. We had to yell to be heard. We asked for the music to be turned down which it was but later turned up again. Food was disappointing from the previous time we had been there. Won’t be going again.
Great share plates. Lovely service. Fantastic place for supper with friends
Great food and service. Quite busy but worth the wait for the delicious food. The black currant ice cream was the best dessert.
